Wow wow wow! Cicada Lodge is not one to be missed. Exceptional customer service, incredible food. We absolutely loved our stay here (2nights). Situated next to the gorge, truly a spectacular piece of nature. The rooms are amazing, extremely spacious, ample room for a Portacot (in our instance), large bathroom and that king bed was next level! Absolutle dream going to bed and waking up, I’ve not had such an amazing sleep in accomodation for a good while! Truly recommend indulging yourself to stay here for the service, food and experience, it absolutely will be worth it.

This was just perfect. Set 5 minutes from the beautiful Katherine Gorge. Amazing.
The rooms are beautiful. The restaurant was wonderful, food beautiful and the staff especially Jake made the whole experience sensational. Thank you so much.
The room was beautifully located in a peaceful and relaxing location and beautifully presented.

We stayed 3 nights and it was the highlight of our trip. We have been on the road for weeks and decided to indulge ourselves by having a luxurious stay and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were bright, clean modern and cool. The food in the restaurant, both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The chef even went out of her way by providing an extra special dessert to help me celebrate my birthday. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area re what to do during our visit. We will definitely stay again if we come batch to the region.

Wow! This was the most amazing experience. The service was next level, the food was spectacular and the rooms were spacious and positioned beautifully in the bush surrounds. Would highly recommend and hopefully we'll get back there one day.

Experience Arnhem land.

This is part of the experience.

Beautiful surroundings. Lovely settings. An experience in itself.

After a great day, a great place to relax.

The staff are fantastic. So helpful. Friendly. Relaxed. Happy.

To add the experience, the food is amazing. First class restaurant in a First class setting. Even if you are not staying at Cicada Lodge this is an experience you should not miss out on

My partner and I stayed here last week and absolutely loved it. The dinner service was outstanding, and well worth the price. As was the service and selection of wine. Having a few drinks on the deck overlooking nature was surreal. I can not recommend doing the lookout walk and the 1/2 day canoe tour along the Katherine gorge. Stunning!

This lodge is an excellent facility which is smaller but more intimate than many others. Very modern and well set out with great rooms and grounds surrounded by the the wilderness and nature and excellent service. We would have enjoyed spending more time here, but were staying with a tour group with tide schedules to follow, so didn't really get much time to enjoy this location and facilities. We'd love to return some time for longer.

Excellent accommodation and food. After several days of touring in the Kimberley region, coming to Cicada for our stay was a highlight. The welcome drinks and dinner were served by very friendly staff. The room was luxurious with tasteful art and modern furnishings. Sunset was amazing from the lobby area. The cruise next morning on the Nitmiluk Gorge was a memorable experience (bit cold early in the morning) Would love to come back and stay for longer

Ridiculous amount of money ($300) for absolutely no service, wrong room, no wifi, no restaurant and did I say no service?

What a Mickey Mouse show. Service is terrible from staff that just don't want to be there.
If you haven't got enough staff to run a 5 star place then don't have it open. Access card to our room didn't work twice on our two night stay - not even a sorry from staff. Restaurant at the lodge is not open & rooms doesn't get made up or cleaned. There is no Wi-fi either. They don't even have the garden & path lights on at night which is a huge safety issue. Let me give you a tip - closed the lodge until you can provide a service.

It's hard to judge right now as the services are all closed but it is still expensive for what you get. You can hear everything from the room next door. There is no wifi (which for the money you are paying is no good).

However the location is good.

Disappointing, bar closed, restaurant closed, No Wi-fi.
They send us over to a caravan park to have dinner in a BBQ area near a pool.
Planned our holiday around this place and they ruined it.

Not the staffs fault.
Manager won't be here till Monday, but will have left by then.

4 weeks to get money back for not providing services they advertise.
Disgraceful.

$571/night? 5 stars? Please explain. A shame restaurant was not open due to lack of staff but the canapés for a “5 star establishment” failed to impress. A plate of cold mixed vegetables was not appropriate for the environment. Wifi not working. Broken tiles in bathroom unacceptable considering the property has been closed for 9 months. Ample time for maintenance. Rooms poorly designed for 5 star venue. Rooms adjoining with internal doors = no privacy, noisy, can hear loudly the footsteps & voices of guests and TV next door. When expecting a tranquil stay with peace and quiet in nature and you can’t sleep due to guest disturbances it’s an absolute let down. You expect a much better quality stay for almost $600/night.won’t be back & certainly won’t be recommending.

Excellent excellent customer service, had lovely canapés of seafood, could be more food options for breakfast, but the coffee was great!

I sent this to reservations to give them a chance to respond but given I didn't hear back I decided to help other travellers not have a similar experience

I wanted to let you know of our experience at Cicada Lodge.

I had booked two nights at Knotts Creek and made the decision to book Cicada Lodge to experience the amazing food that was spoke of so highly in reviews. Paying $1,245 for this experience and maintaining the accommodation at Knotts creek to make it easier the next morning being able to check in.

We arrived at 10.45 and asked to leave our bags as we didn’t want them left in the car while we went on the cruise, we were told there was no where for this to be able to happen.

We arrived back at 2pm only to have neither of our rooms ready. We were told they would be 20 mins, then soon, then 15 mins and then finally after 3pm they were ready.

When we booked I asked for one King and a rollaway this was for us and my Step Daughter. When we arrived the roll away was in with the two king singles which unfortunately is not an option given a high conflict birth Mum we dont have her in a room with her older step brothers. We asked for another trundle and were told it would cost us $103 for this. Which we were appalled at an additional cost, they then came back and said there are no other rollaways anyway and then they could move it for us – this was now around 5.45pm.

We arrived for sunset drinks and canapes at 6pm, the drinks were fine but the canapes didn’t arrive until close to 7pm. (which with hungry kids is like 4 hours, nothing nearby was open)

We then proceeded into a table inside which we had to ask for – we were sitting on the couches due to the fussing over a larger family group who were making the lives of the staff difficult.

Once inside given that there were NO other options for food for the kids the chef said he would make them chicken burgers (and the one GF)

If we had been told this below when I asked I might have been prepared with other options for them so was disappointed in finding out the bistro didn’t open until May.

At 7.46 we received some sweet potato wedges for the kids as the other table had asked for them. At around 8 pm our entrée arrived. At 8.15 the kids burgers arrived and finally at 8.30pm our main meal arrived. All through this the bugs were going insane, into drinks, if you breathed with your mouth open you'd eat one. I get it is in the national park BUT for a $300 plus meal not being so bug ridden would have been nicer. We ended up leaving as we were sick of the lack of staffing and had our desserts bought to our rooms at 9pm. So from 6-9 – for a set meal for around 35 adults.

Now in this instance I DO NOT blame the staff – they were clearly under resourced and did the utmost hardest with dinner and I know the chef worked until 12 and was up again at 4am.

To sell yourself as a luxury destination and have had this experience made our one night of “luxury” the WORST night of the trip.

I have numerous friends all heading your way and I am now telling them all to avoid Cicada Lodge. The food at Knotts Creek BTW was served in under an hour and was delicious as well.

In the morning based on our experience there was no way we wanted to stay and eat given we had a 9am horse riding trip booked so the chef kindly made us all bacon and egg rolls to take away.

So in summary this was the worst spend of $1,500 I have ever made in my life

Cicada Lodge is the perfect place to explore the Nitmiluk National Park. There are limited number of rooms all of which are very well appointed. Each room looks out into the bush and once you are in your lodge room you wouldn’t know there is anyone else around as you can’t see another lodge or person, just nature. The food is excellent and the wine list is extensive. Stay a few nights and relax and slow life down. You won’t regret it

Cicada Lodge is hard to rate. The location is great but there is no real view from the balcony. Rooms are nice and clean.
Although very small, rather impersonal. Some staff really nice and helpful, some underqualified for such an expensive lodge. Dinner was disappointing (quality, taste, quantity, price). Breakfast similar but included some nice items. Pool very cold and small but nice. Is it worth the money? You decide.
