Charles Darwin National Park. Nissen Huts from World War Two, worth a visit. Brilliant Views of Darwin City across the Mangroves and Harbour, looking West. Be sure to wear Insect repellent, as Midges/Sandflies and Anopheles Aegypti Mosquitoes are endemic. The best repellent is Bushman's Spray on DEET, or Coles equivalent, which is $10 cheaper at $4. There are Electric Bar-B-Ques and decent toilets, as well as sun shades.

Interesting part of Australian history. Well worth a visit. Also a great place for a picnic and/or a walk.

Small park that is not particularly interesting except for the few bunkers and the view of the city

Not wonderful for walking, but there are some nice mtb trails and very nice spot for a picnic. Our visit, though hot and muggy, was remarkably bug free.

Lots of stuff to check out, I enjoyed my time here very much but like another user said it’s a must to bring bug repellent.

Fantastic park, however owing to lots of biting insects you need insect repellant to protect yourself from being bitten or alternatively wear long trousers.

A well kept park with not a lot to do if you're not into nature. If you go for a walk take plenty of water, wear sunscreen etc. There are some WW2 relics (mainly storage bunkers) scattered around the car park area and road out, with some more WW2 relics further down the walking path.
Don't wear thongs/a singlet around dawn/dusk as there are all sorts of biting insects in the area.

Good to see a bit of war history and a good harbor view. Beware the midges here they will eat you alive. Free Bbqs in the grassed area.

Very hot, walkway shade would be nice. There should be cameras in carpark for safety. Nice bushwalk. Bring plenty water. Nice views.

Great park with expansive city views. Some interesting WWII storage facilities. You must wear long pants or use significant insect repellent. During a 10 min excursion in a ammunition bunker I Finished up with 50 midge bites that took days to swell and weeks to heal.

Great park area. BBQs and tables. Fantastic views of the city. Old WWII ammunition storage bunkers. You can enter one and it has a wealth of information.

To be honest there is not anything special in this national park. There is a pic-nic area full of mosquitoes so I recommend you to bring a spray.
There are a few bunkers from the world war, there is a nice lookout of the Darwin skyline and a few trails that are especially made for mountain bike. That's it.

Great place to visit for more WWII history. These are the things you don't read about. You have to see with your own eyes.
Also good for wildlife watchers and views of Darwin.

The sand flies are HORRENDOUS. Was only there for 5 mins and came out with dozens of nasty, itchy bites

Very interesting place to learn more about Darwin's involvement with WWII. Nice view of the city too.

There are mountain bike tracks but no tracks through the bush for walkers. The signage wasnt clear leading to tracks to say which one was which. There are lots of areas that people could track through for the walkers, how about it.
