Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Yirrkala Art Centre reviews
26What a stunning place, filled with beautiful people on a beautiful mission! We've purchased several art pieces and keep returning for more. The staff members are exceptional.
If you happen to be in town, you need to visit Yirrkala Art Centre. This art centre has been well taken off, and you could buy art from here.
Beautiful traditional art works, friendly and helpful staff, on-site artist's and cultural significant panels and information.
Purchased a woven bowl here, told the girl I was taking it to NZ and she never mentioned it does not meet quarantine rules. When customs checked it bugs fell out of it and were crawling over the table. Was confiscated and destroyed. Total waste of time and money. Don’t buy any of the pandanas/wooden stuff if you don’t live in Australia, you’ll lose it.
The best art gallery in Australia for what it does not just what it shows plus it has the sacred church panels which every Australian should see once in their life!
Incredible array of aboriginal art and story of the people. Well worth the visit and plenty of original art available for sale and top quality from renowned artists
Great art work, good range of paintings, carvings, jewellery, woven mats and baskets, memorial poles.
Extraordinary is possibly an understatement.
The gallery is a repurposed building but it is really the contents of this wonderful place that capture your attention.
Make you make time to explore this gallery.
Excellent art gallery with unique first peoples art. We took the opporyunity to acquire a piece of this unique art to support the local artist and remind us of our weeks trip to Nhulunbuy and East Arnhem. Gallery is a must visit. Staff were very helpful.
Highly recommended place to go and visit. The staff have excellent knowledge of the regional art which is beautifully unique to East Arnhemland.
Nhulunbuy is a great place to visit, they also have one of the best Indigenous art center I have ever been to. I get to travel to remote Australian locations and have been to a few art shops and the like, but this place is the real deal! Easily the most comprehensive and professional Indigenous art places I have been to. Stop in, the art, stories they have on display are amazing. No charge to enter and have a look around. Very friendly and welcoming hosts.
Must visit if in EAL. Great experience and something for everyone. Doesn't need to cost you a cent but you can equally break the bank.
Amazing work by over
350 local and other indigenous Artists. Must see when in Nhulunbuy. Purchase online with confidence. Great, friendly, knowledgable staff, and Will the Manager has amazing knowledge on the details of art and the meaning of the artists work.
Some interesting art work, no prices only codes, gentlemen in charge very rude and condescending. Spoiled the visit, maybe they should have indigenous people trained to talk to the public.
If you end up anywhere near this place, GO! Nothing else like it. I succumbed and bought a bark painting.
Me and my sister's we share kids and our grandchildren, just like our mothers do this a yolngu way to live, go hunting together and live together,?
Very interesting. Great art works. See the true Yolugn Lore. Lore being the indigenous spelling for their Law. It is fantastic and interesting. Highly recommend it.
Great artwork display and full of important Australian history. Outstanding indigenous art on display and for sale.
Amazing centre, a rich cultural centre full of established and emerging works. There bark paintings, carvings, clay and jewelery. Certainly a must see if you are visiting.
This place is a hidden gem. Make the effort to venture out to this picturesque town and check out the art centre. Learn about the impact this business is making on the local community and the global footprint it's leaving. A tremendous example of successful local business benefiting the local people.
