Bicentennial Park reviews
40A lovely green space overlooking Darwin Harbour. Lush lawns, tropical trees and plants with a children's playground and a workout space with some equipment. A meandering shared footpath/cycleway runs through it from east to west along the length of the Edplanade. Several memorials to the history of Darwin are dotted amongst the Park including the Darwin War Memorial.
This park has something for everyone. The impressive slides and spiderweb climby things are very memorable. On a Friday in the dry season you also have the City of Darwin Fun Bus operating right next door which is great for 0-5s. Location couldn't be better right on the Esplanade. You forget you're in the CBD.
Interesting to read the signs on the walk path to understand the history of Darwin and the Japanese attack
Bicentennial Park has great views big enclosed slide heaps of swings for all ages and disabilities as well there are things around the park to see and read bueitful views of the water plenty of shade and under cover seating fresh water to drink from the bubblers for humans and our 4 legged friends the bicentennial park is a credit to Darwin and all who maintains this wonderful place
Very close to shopping and restaurants! A good place to relax and have a good walk. Nice views, many park benches and cool sea breezes.
Enjoy the sea breeze and tropical ambience in this well maintained and extensive park. Loved by locals and tourists alike, the park offers tribute to the Darwin's war effort and history, as well as providing playgrounds and walking tracks. Complete with plenty of shady trees, seating and tables, the park is a wonderful gem stretching along the entire southern border of the CBD.
A lovely park with Ocean views. It's lit at night and it's super safe for a walk. You can also spot the local animals at night.
Liked it a lot. The NT has done a great job creating a lovely green space for scenic views, exercise, kids and general well-being.
Lovely quiet place to look out over the sea and relax, or read the numerous boards telling about WW2 and the local indigenous people and the roles they played in protecting Australia.
Its a perfect place for physical exercise and walking. Water view is very relaxing and beautiful.
There's so many trees and things. They had scooters at the time so it was a nice breeze in the death heat of Darwin. Fun tho ngl
Great for a walk with good views of Darwin Harbour. If you like a run, don’t miss the free Parkrun every Saturday morning at 7am (before it gets too hot!). It starts just near the main car park.
Kids love this place, and the equipment is so creative. Most advanced play ground I have ever seen.
Love riding the scooters along the esplanade and taking a book down to read.get to see the cheeky possums before nightfall
Beautiful spot in Darwin to go for a walk with scenic views especially at sunset. Public toilets available. Wifi available at some of the benches. Lots of shady trees. Plenty of pretty photo opportunities. Not far to walk over to the waterfront for fine dining and/or swimming. Multiple informative historical signs if interested in reading about Darwin’s history.
The esplanade is a great park for an early evening walk and to catch the sunset. Go to the viewing platform at the western end for an unobstructed view over the harbour.
Only complaint is the native green ant population that has taken to the ground! Be careful green ants before someone turns you into a beer!
Nice play ground area to bring your children for a play, while you sit and relax or chase after them, best fun both for you and your child.
This is the best place to feel the real past of Darwin! So green.so tranquil.this place tells us a lot about the unrecorded history of Darwin. Just feel beat of this place during sunrise!
Trees, lawn, active ware, that's what parks are all about! And it's a bicentennial park so its a park that was built because boats and people and settlement and what have you. Did I mention active ware? Yoga pants.
