Battery Hill Mining Centre reviews
16Took the mine tour and had a great time. Loads of info on the mine, town, and region. Can't recommend it enough. The tour guide was also very insightful and a great communicator. He provided personal anecdotes that really add to the experience.
Visitor centre super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Arrived to late for the museums but they sounded like something worth doing
Very helpful staff who not only provided info on the town, but the towns to our continuing journey. Didn't do the underground mine, however the rest of the museum was worth a visit.
What an interesting place. So glad I went and seen it. The two guys looking after the place are an asset, the knowledge they have is impressive. You will need at least 4hrs to see it all, with tour. 10*Dave.
We went here for the tourist information center. Good information and had a fridge magnet, very happy
A bit dusty but friendly and helpful staff and plenty of insights into Tennant Creek history and geology.
Wow. Learnt so much about the mining history of the area.great tour of the mine. David was a great source of information. The mineral display is amazing. And a great tribute to their local war hero is well worth a visit. Also a lovely phone and relic museum of the local history. Not to mention a lovely from the tables and chairs out the back
Self guided tour is $14 for basically 2 sheds full of information about the town, the minerals. Its probably a bit pricey for what you get but also a way of supporting the local businesses.
There's 2 guided tours at 10 and 2 pm that I didn't have time to do but sound interesting
What a wonderful place. The social history museum was amazing. Lots to read and see. The underground mine tour was the best. Karl really knows his stuff. The McLaughlin Mineral collection is world class. Amazing specimens from all over the world. Finished off with the Albert Borella VC MM exhibit. Fascinating reading and pictures. Thanks to David, Rhiannon and Karl for all their help and friendlyness. Was there for 4 hours. Highly recommend
This is so well presented and interesting, you will need to put aside some time, as there is so much to see
It was a trip down memory lane. Lived and work in TC and it was great to come back and look around.
Unfortunately tours weren't available when we dropped in but the man behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. For a small fee a look into the three museums is worth the cost, especially the "freedom, fortitude amd flies"
Beautiful maintained place and tour is truly informative. Guide is a former miner who can tell you everything you need to know. Also the information centre's staff is very welcoming. You must give these guys a visit when stopping in TC!
Beware of fools gold.do not buy gold here ridiculous mark up on souvenir nugget.we got stung well and truly. Disappointing
If ya into any geology, mining etc great place to visit. The blokes were awesome to talk to and know there stuff and area. Only did the museum and well worth it. Must do.
Nice side, with a great tour guide, who Leeds you through the mine. Very informative and nice guided tour. You learn a lot about mining and the gold rush in Australia.
Also the information center is good, with very helpful staff.
