Araluen Arts Centre reviews
13 It's such a fabulous venue.
I was lucky enough to watch the Soweto Gospel Choir as part of the 2023 Desert Song Festival.
The Theatre has an intimate feel to it. Every seat is a great seat! Very comfy, too.
The Gallery attatched has some wonderful exhibitions, I was there for the " Desert Mob " Art exhibition ~~ AMAZING!
The litte Gallery shop has a fabulous range of art, books, gift cards, jewellery and so much more. Many of the things on sale are made by local First Nation Artists.
There was so much to do and see, i visited twice, making sure to have a lovely meal at the caffee next door.
Oh.and the ticket prices for any show are so much more affordable than they are in any mayor city.
I can't wait to go back ~~
Compact and interesting art exhibition at the main buiding, it’s free admission during my visit, there is place to see fine arts by locals who created their works depicting landscapes of red center, there are also indigenous pieces from local aborigines. Inside the building, there is modern art gallery and theatre which changes theme of performances.
2 interesting exhibits: art by regional Indigenous artists (exceptional variety in terms of ages, styles and media) and a quilt exhibit by regional quilters. The outdoor sculpture exhibit was underwhelming (and we were hot so we didn’t want to spend much more time outside). Small but useful gift shop. Clean toilets. Plenty of parking.
Some of the most amazing art work and weaving I have seen, very worth while visiting Met some ladies from a local art group who were very informative about the story telling in the paintings
We visited during the Beanie Festival. It was awesome! Incredible array of beanies plus other general exhibits. Nice gift shop too.
Nothing to see here, without being charged, more outside then what is inside without having to pay. Dont bother check out other attractions
Very excellent exhibitions and very helpful staff. The craft shop closes at 2pm so don't leave it til last.
This is a premier venue for showing indigenous art, historic and modern. The transition from Namatjira to the later Papunya Tula artists is well documented. Contemporary work is also shown.
Amazing place. Visited during Beanie festival and was very impressed of how well organised the day was. Free crafting activities for the kids were fantastic.
Wonderful, informative exhibitions, helpful staff and peaceful surroundings. A must visit in Alice Springs.

After visiting Alice Springs Desert Park, we drovee to this Arts Centre.
It was a real gem for visitors who like Aboriginal art, especially contemporary Aboriginal art.
I was and still am a novice in Aboriginal art, and have very limited knowledge except about dot painting and Rainbow Serpent Dreamtime picture. I spent sometime at the gallery exhibiting the many colourful artwork, and masterpieces.
Besides painting, there was the Corkwood Sculpture Garden, and a great display of metal work.
I love them all!
Interesting and above all a place to get away from the rushes and worries of life and appreciate the art.
It is a very beautiful Art Centre. There were many paintings and sculptures displayed. There were many beautiful aboriginal paintings.
