ANZAC Hill reviews
36It was a Windy day when we visited ANZAC Hill and it was amazing to film a video of Alice Springs from the Hill. It was very clean and lots of information on the boards to read. The Cenotaph is a monument capturing and honouring all those whose lives and achievement is recognised as a memorial.
29th august 2019 Anzac Hill is nice drive to the hill. First time I did was I thought that my car would roll down while I am trying to drive. As you drive there is information with poster about the war. The parking is small but there is always parking available. Disabled parking is there and there is ramp which can be used. Coming to the top of the hill you can see the macdonald range and view of Alice spring. Meet few visitors from different part of the world and they were just having a stopove in Alice.
This is the must place to see when in alice spring and the best thing is the sunset at the macdonald range and the sunrise
Great place to visit and get a fantastic view of Alice Springs and the surrounding hills. Recommended.
We arrived in time to watch the sun rise over the town of Alice. Great place to see the mountain range circling this little town. Only down side is the spotlights when taking photos but they turn off just in time for the actual sunrise. Definitely have us a different feel for this town when seeing it from above; style our heart.
ANZAC hill is one of the essential places to visit in Alice.
Besides being a good lookout spot, there’s lot of memorials there acknowledging Australia’s contributions to conflicts.
Parking is free and easy, but it can be busy at times.
Absolutely beautiful spot in Alice Springs, great 360 views, perfect to just sit back and reflect.
Great views and perspective of Alice Springs. The information boards and honour given to all ANZAC's is thoughtful and full of respect. The dawn service here on Anzac Day would be very moving.
A high on the hill rememberence to all the fallen Australian soldiers in all the various conflicts.
Take note of the beautiful signs going up & the back of the signs travelling down.
Great views and perspective of Alice Springs. The information boards and honour given to all ANZAC's is thoughtful and full of respect. The dawn service here on Anzac Day would be very moving.
Easy to find, steep hill to access, good parking for a maybe 20 or 30 cars, up some steps and the view of Alice Springs is special. Lots, I really mean lots of reading about different campaigns during a variety of wars over the past two and a half centuries. We'll worth the effort.
An important memorial monument standing tall in the heart of Alice Springs. Offers 360 views in all directions of the town and you can see how Alice nestles within the pocket in the ranges. A must stop to appreciate the view when you’re visiting or passing through
The view was wonderful and the drive up was informative. It was extremely hot when we went and not much shade so make sure to bring a hat!
Really interesting place lots of good stories just goes to show you we're not rid of fence force we're in attack force there's nothing there in the defence of Australia only attacking other countries
Great spot to watch the sun raise or set.
Also has a footpath that people like to walk up and down.
Absolutely wonderful views of Alice Springs, and a great spot to sit and reflect, especially during a sunrise or sunset.
Lets start on a positive, the view is nice.
Yet another attraction dedicated to white people. This was a site once special to traditional owners that we have decided to use to commemorate ourselves. There are countless signs dedicated to white people who have fought in wars. There are then 4 signs with a small amount of history about the land and its history, it is very informative about how white people colonised the area.
Perhaps there is no information about the traditional owners or culture because it is not ours to know, but to me, it feels so sad that we have taken this place from them, to mourn our own people, after killing thousands of them with zero recognition of that.
Lovely view of the city. Worth the effort. Also very interesting plagues with information on Australian war history.
Well done way of giving a lookout on the meager high ground in Alice Springs a decent balance of white and indigenous history. Good views
There is a quick way up the hill (the road is considerably longer) but it’s stone steps and quite rocky so probably not for the aged.
Good place to see Alice Springs, wheelchair access. Good place to think about the men and women that went to war. No toilets.
This is a worthy commemorative site with a great vista of the town centre and neighbouring topography; access and parking are straight forward.
