Alice Springs Visitor Information Centre reviews
29Staff are really helpful and you can find a really diverse range of information, maps, leaflets, guides - even more than the airport! Postcards (which include uluru) are $1, which are cheaper than any other tourist site I’ve visited in Alice Springs, and you can get stamps on site too!
We had many questions about hotels (even not in Alice Springs), transit permit to pass Aboriginal land, road conditions to access Palm Valley.
We got all answers and more.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable, taking time to provide the good information. With a smile.
Special thanks to Tash since she helped us, but everybody in this center was friendly and kind.
Beaut staff. They friendly & helpful. A warm welcome to the town. On Todd Mall down Anzac Hill end. Large and well laid out, stocked with all the info plus souvenirs, books etc. Open 7 days.
Unfriendly and bad advice. Told us to 'hurry up as we lost all day' at 10am. Also advised us to skip all sightseeing spots on our way to the next destination because 'the mereeny road would take 3.45 hours'. We crossed it in 2.
Susan saved our day, a star. We had been let down by our tour opperator at the last minute, but she advised on places to see, tour order and arranged a great 1 day car hire. Saw all the sights, beat the crowds, and it cost about half the tour we had booked. Great service, thank you Tourist Info and Susan.
Was struggling to find appropriate car hire and the visitors centre helped from initial email right through to booking. Absolutely spot on - special thanks to Em & Kylie. Thank you so much
We were given some incorrect information which made us change our plans. We did go back and told them but they didn't seem overly concerned. The town is an awful place and this just showed us they didn't want to promote their town.
Spoke to the most friendly and helpful staff member who helped me secure & book a rental car within 10 minutes. She answered every single one of my questions in detail and was delightful to speak with.
A breath of fresh air after experiencing some poor customer service while trying to book this holiday. Thank you for being so helpful:)
Very helpful staff and lots of information on what to do and where to go in and around Alice Springs.
Sunday 14th August 2022 around lunch time 6 of us went in to enquire about permits required to travel from Glen Helen to Kings Canyon and Uluru. The American or Canadian young lady that served us was extremely rude and condescending. She would not make eye contact with us and dismissed us without any assistance other than to say get them on line. The reason we went to the information center was because the website referred us there to gain the $5 permit. A complete waste of time. We have always found information centers to be particularly helpful.
Natalie was great, caring, smiling and helping really. Shame that she is the only Aboriginal staff working there.
I wd love to see all Aboriginal owners of the land at the info Centre, not all whites selling real owners’ art.
They work pretty hard to showcase the best of the Red Centre. Well done for being the first people the tourists meet
The official guide maps still show there's a petrol station in Glen Helen which is permanently closed. Could be a serious problem for those relying on it to potentially get stuck on empty on their way to Kings Canyon
Such a friendly helpful team. They took the time to work through a day itinerary around Alice. We also booked car hire through them before traveling, and they miraculously found us an unlimited km package, which was definitely required for the distances out here!
A wealth of information, knowledge by lady who served me, if you require destinations in AS you must visit
Just finished up speaking with Kylie at the Info Centre - how refreshing in this day of 'lack of customer service' to speak to such a knowledgable kind funny lady like Kylie. She had a wealth of info to help me make the right decision on what to see for our short stint in the NT. Thanks Kylie - you're worth more money!
Wow! Don't normally write these, but what a great experience thanks to Karan. Legend of a bloke! I attempted to do my tourism vouchers alone and was charged.a lot! After speaking with Karan, he was able to provide me with excellent advice and save me …. A lot! Karan went out of his way to resolve my issues and by out of his way, I mean, he worked overtime to help me. Well done tourism red center, and special shout out to Meg in Admin who was also fantastic:)
Most pleasant and helpful people. Provided some great tourist information. Both here in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
For a visitor information centre the lady at the counter was not willing to share any information and more interested in fumbling at her desk than customer service. I gained no knowledge for my upcoming trip and left incredibly disappointed in my experience at the Visitor centre.
Lots of resources and helpful staff to assist with finding the great things to see and do in central Australia
