Alice Springs Reptile Centre reviews
67Small establishment with all the reptiles you could ever want to see from central australia.a truly comprehensive collection.we went on a super hot day so even terry the crocodile was not having it haha it was an interesting experience though! A bit pricey for the size but still very much worth the visit, especially with the interactive show where you get to hold some reptiles! Guide was really engaging and loved his humour.
It's very informative about how to survive venomous reptiles, snake, dragon, and crocs.the presentation by staff is very interesting and real experience of touching, seeing the real rep.
Very disappointing - please educate yourself before going! If you want to support a place where the majority of reptiles are kept in small cages (and isolated) this is the place to go. Made me really sad and regret going there…
We loved our visit to The Reptile Centre. Rex, the owner, was a great guide and very knowledgeable.
Nocturnal house is phenomenal. Loved sitting and watching the bilby hop around. Great bird display
Great family outing.
Make sure you go when they do their talk, it's very informative and educational for kids. Kids also get to hold the reptiles.
Good value for money if you're on a budget.
Impromptu stop and so glad we did. Staff are so passionate and friendly. Tons of reptiles and enclosures are clean and easy to observe them. Worth the visit.
Small cluttered lot's of rubbish sitting around, lecture was interesting. Very small number of times specimens to view.
I must admit that a short visit educated me that I didn't know my whole life about these beautiful creatures. Do take the class and hold the snake around your neck.
Awesome! Displays are great and the Reptile Show plus the handling of olive phyton 'Ziggy' was something I will never forget!
You get what you expect by the name:)
On a self tour, it's about one hour. There's also a presentation but you need to check the hours in advance and plan accordingly. On the day we visited, the presentations were given at 11: 00am, 1: 00pm and 3: 30pm.
Not expensive and very cool reptiles. Ranging from a small gecko to a croc. There's a number of talks scheduled throughout the day - got to hold a snake at the end there.
Nice space with snakes, geckos, goannas and a saltie. Enclosures seem nice and animal healthy. Staff seems genuinely passionate. Totally recommended as a light hearted way to learn and admire some unique Aussie stuff

This is a must visit attraction in Alice springs (perhaps not.if Reptiles, Snakes etc are not your cup of tea!) There's a huge range of Snakes especially to look at, take pictures and so on. There are also 3 shows daily where one gets to handle a lovely (non venomous) Lady Python. She's gorgeous, you are required to be real gentle with her while handling. The only disappointment perhaps was that, there was only one lazy Crocodile snoozing inside an enclosure, not bothered by the visitors. Having a few more Crocks there may be an idea! But overall, it's a great place to visit. The ladies at the reception/staff are very nice people too.
Hands on and up close. Friendly staff and clean, we'll cared for critters. A most pleasant afternoon.
A very informative display & session by a chap who clearly enjoys his work. Well worth the time
Small little reptile centre in the red centre with astonishingly great collection on reptiles. They have a reptile show at 11AM with opportunity for reptile handling and photos which is inclusive in the entry fee. They have special offers for locals. I have visited twice and my little one loves it. Has free car park near the entrance and is wheel chair friendly. Will visit again.
Great presentation by a wonderfully knowledgeable and passionate presenter. Definitely worth the visit
We took our grandsons here, arrived in time for the croc talk from Rex, very entertaining. The demonstration and talk about snakes and blue tongues was great. A chance to hold the olive python if you dare, amazing creature. A cuddle with the blue tongue was a favorite with the boys. We had a great time looking at all the lizards and snakes and Terry the croc. Our favorite was the thorny devil. A great place well worth a visit
