Alice Lodge Backpackers

The lodge is found in a very unsafe part of Alice Springs. The doors to all the rooms face the outside and don't have a very secure lock (knob lock versus deadbolt) and there weren't any safes to secure any important items. There was also a gap under the door with a warning to search for snakes! There's no one who works onsite, and it's very difficult to get a hold of them if you have any issues checking in (which we did!). I recommend spending the extra money and staying at one of the nicer hotels in the area.

My friend and I did not feel safe here. Very questionable area and not clean. Don’t recommend.

The company that owns this also does allot of the tourist runs and airport shuttles. The problem is they allow people to stay and work here. I was abused by a French man piere who works here and he also called me racist and said he would do some pretty nasty things to me and threatened my safety. But despite there being multiple other people around at the time I was the only one targeted and I doubt there will be any reprimand for his actions. He scared multiple other tourists that all asked if I was OK. Understandably there are limited options up here in alice but after that I will be warning everyone to stay away as its not worth being abused for no reason on a Friday nite at like 10 pm.

Good safe accomodation! Has locked fences around the front and car parks inside. Bar fridge in room. Comfy beds. Heater/aircon in room. Very good for price.

Felt unsafe. Police came a few times during our stay. Some guy wasn't a backpacker and seemed like he was off his trolley. Owner accused him of being inappropriate towards her underage daughter; got into a loud argument and the police were called.

Weird vibes post COVID. Didn't feel much like a backpackers. Very little spare accommodation in Alice at the moment so had lots of non-backpackers there.

Great location, 10 minute walk across the river into the main streets. The kitchen is very well equipped.

Everything is automated, there's no backpacker front desk. Put a code in a machine and get your key.

Lilly was helpful and a beautiful soul.

Very clean and comfortable, great value. My only complaint was car parking lock which lots of people had trouble undoing.
Would recommend this hostel.

This Lodge is cosy, clean, quiet with a very nice vibe, fairy lights and murals add to its charm
The back yard is a small oasis with, shaded area and a perfect pool. When I visited the guests were pleasant and friendly. Set opposite a park with locals and their dogs and in a nice part of town. Coffee shop an supermarket close by and owner is welcoming and helpful, she maintains the pool so is at times present ensuring the quiet clean atmosphere is kept.

Washing machines and dryers and a nice cool TV room. Fast and free internet, fully equipped kitchen and laundry. A very good effort at recycling and the kitchen is clean and accessible 24/7.

The place is clean, friendly, has all the amenities you need. Close to town. Definitely recommend a stay.

I absolutely loved my stay and would have extended, pity about the lockdown! It was so clean, quiet and convenient. Alijca was the friendliest manager ever! Everyone staying at the place had a chill friendly vibe as well. It's close to everything without the city rush feel. Thank you for accommodating me, I will definitely come back again!

My friend and I from W. A. (both seniors) stayed here for ten nights. The staff were welcoming and friendly and beds were comfy. We enjoyed using the shared kitchen. We would stay here again.

Such a cool place, people that stay there for longer are really friendly and welcoming. Pool, garden and hammocks are great, and fairy lights at night look beautiful. Highly recommend this little hostel, will definitely come back

Be aware credit card theif ALICIA THE MANAGER TOOK MONEY out of an account with no permission this was the second time she hit his account with no permission. After requesting she refund the money back she refused. So don't be fooled.

A pleasant hostel with a pool which is mike the best thing you can have in a town such as Alice Springs. It's really close to the city center (Especially when the Todd River is dry, it only takes 4 minutes), the AC in my room was working perfectly.

Sadly the kitchen was a bit outdated, especially the plates. The door was also annoying as heck, a real door or one that doesn't close by itself would have been more adapted to a kitchen.

Bloody awesome! We strongly recommend that backpacker. Simple place, but very clean, very well organised, beautiful entertainment area and so on. Would come back for sure!

This place is very good if you are doing a tour to uluru or other places around that area. The rooms, showers, toilets and kitchen are clean and there is even breakfast (toast and cereal) from 4am I believe. What is just perfect as we had to leave at 6am for our tour.

Nice backyard. Beds weren't the most comfortable but they were OK. Kitchen was pretty well equipped and breakkie Is included, same as in every hostel, bread, spreads, tea, coffee, milk, etc.

Rooms were clean. Basic what you might expect at a backpackers. Secure and safe but they need some more lighting around the raised areas

The manager was drunk and he behaved like a mafia-guy.
THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE.
It could be really annoying being forced to face things like that.
I definitely discourage anyone to go there (this is my point of view).
Rooms are freezing, I asked them several times to turn the air conditioning system off but I didn't get any reply.
Apparently it is centralized, anyway after few days of staying there I got sick.
I guess you will not enjoy a 10 degrees room.
The rooms are not that clean, they change the bad-sheets but that's it.
It is far away from the town center and it is dangerous walking at night time in Alice Springs.
They pretend to rent the rooms for the same price of the other hostels in town but actually the value of what they offer is extremely lower.

Just left the lodge heading to the big red rock. Unfortunatley I missed the first 4 runs but I am pretty sure I saw you racing at pos. 2 in round six. Anyway you had definitely one of the wildest cuts an aussie bloke on top of a camel ever had At the end good luck with your travels at any time, hardest work is done!

Entspannt, gute Atmosphäre, nettes Personal, WLAN. Für Frühstück bedient man sich einfach swlbst im Kühlschrank, und Instant-Kaffee kann man sich den ganzen Tag über holen. Nachts war es allerdings so kalt, dass wir ohne zusätzliche (eigene) Schlafsäcke nicht schlafen konnten. Duschen sind bissel knapp und klein. Eine Waschmaschine ist vorhanden.
