Alatai Holiday Apartments

Fantastic place to stay. Approx 10 minutes walk to/from Woolworths. About 25 minutes walk to Darwin Waterfront, or buses to/from the City and Suburbs stop 5 minutes walk away. The pool is great, nice cool water. Next to city centre and close to everything but far enough from the centre to avoid noise. Su at the front desk is an absolute gem. Su is the most enthusiastic and happy hotel front desk employee I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Thank you Su for making my stay better. All other staff are very nice as well but Su is a star.

Very clean, but like most of Darwin old. Staff are amazing and accommodating. Location is quiet and central. Best value and will stay there again.

Good place to stay if you're on a budget. It's not a modern place but has what you need. Self contained apartment and as we arrived so early (outside bus hrs) when we walked into our apartment, the aircon was on in the 2 bedrooms and the main living area. Exactly what we needed due to the extreme Darwin humidity. Very friendly staff always saying hello when we'd see them.

Nice location. Fast checkin. Clean and spacious rooms. Value for money. Front staff Dolly and Monica were very helpful. Overall highly recommend this place.

Went to the Nepalese restaurant in these apartments, not 5 star but friendly family restaurant with tasty food at reasonable prices and byo with no charge! Easy parking friendly staff, give it a go, Momo's are great!

I would recommend staying here at the staff and grounds are pleasant and enjoyable.

The only thing I can think of is if you are mobility impaired or have a lot of baggage there is no lift for second floor and above.

We stayed with our three year old and everyone was pleasant, friendly and kind.

Just arrived but seems a pleasant hotel. Nepalese restaurant on site. Shell service station across the road with Coles Express. Cellarbrations bottle shop 2 minute walk.

Funny thing happened while staying there. There is no security-safe in the room we stayed in. On our return from a day out our iPad was missing from the kitchen bench were it was left. Management check of CCTV verified that only the cleaner had been in the room. Room was searched and moved bed out from wall during search. Laundromat advised that it wasn't in the bed linen. Three days later we worked out how to trigger the "Find My iPad" app. It showed the iPad was at Alatia. Five minutes after triggering the iPad alarm through "Find My iPad" Alatia rang us to say they had located the iPad stuck between the bed and bedside cupboard. We thanked the staff for their efforts to find the missing iPad.

Every thing is fine but that night we couldn't sleep due to the people walking and taking the entire night. It felt like the people there never sleep.

Absolutely great place to stay - clean tidy and friendly staff! The swimming pool was well kept and the mini breakfast cafe is a great idea (for a $5 fee)! Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to travellers like myself or even young families who are looking for a central place in Darwin!

This property was much larger than expected. We got a 3 bedroom apartment for the family which has builtins, a loungeroom, cooking facilities and cooking tools.
The room was in fact 2 seperate apartments linked with adjoining lockable door. The rooms are very spacious, clean, air conditioners in each room and overall we were pleasantly surprised and satisfied.
There is a communal pool with a small flowing fountain. There is a thai restaurant named green chillies as part of the property and they also offer small continental breakfast i believe.
We walked to woolworths about 15min walk to pick up food for breakfast and dinner.
The checkin process was easy and quick and they had a simple after hours solution as we arrived late.

Not much to look at but very clean and spacious rooms. Microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery, washing machine and drier provided. Nice pool. Lovely friendly, helpful staff. Good cheap breakfast. Good price if you are on a budget

So much value for your money! At least in the low season it is. We paid $66 per night and had a private room with very well equipped kitchenette. A washer and dryer in the appartment for free. Bathroom of course. Access to the pool and bbq. Smack in the middle of Darwin City so it is easy to walk everywhere. Whether you want to go to the waterfront or cullen bay. The service was great. Free parking too!

Beautiful place to stay at. I am back for holiday again and I have met some real nice people. The staff are warm and friendly. I haven't met a William throughout my stays so I am assuming there are new owners. My husband and I are so privileged to stay here. Going to miss you Alatai staff and Darwin. Going home to Aotearoa.
