Aileron Roadhouse reviews
53 At $180 per night for a couple, extremely overpriced.
Nothing wrong with the place but too expensive for what is offered.
I've stayed most places along the track and this would be reasonable if $120 was charged.
What should be a remote, quiet place turned out to be a noisy spot: parrots squeeking all evening, locals crossing around on their squads and worst of all: the local diesel generator roaring all night long
Unbelievable in an area where the sun shines 364 days per year. I think they never heard about solar panels to do the trick…
Apart from that: the toilet block was installed in 1970 and has never seen any renovation since then.
OK: you pay (almost) nothing and you get what you pay for…
Great staff, very friendly and helpful. A must stop and take in the sights.

Just stopped in for road side lunch. But definitely worth a drive through for the views.
Phone Service here.
You have to stop just to admire the sculptures. Park is ok but the amenities need some maintenance. Pub looked ok.
Definitely in need of better food for the Greyhound Bus rest stop.fried drumsticks and chicken tenders were all that was available and the toilets were screaming out for a clean with some bleach.
Nice stop over. Staff friendly and helpful. Good buffet -all you can eat. Basic but plentiful. Nice level caravan sites with power and water. Don't by pass it
Nev and Marg.
We just stayed for one night on a powered site. Staff were friendly, simple process to get a site. Did not take bookings in advance.
Home cooked buffet style food for dinner with 3 options that you self serve for $25.
All three showers in female amenities had broken shower heads that sprayed up the wall, tried tightening them but shower heads so calcified over no way for water to come out where it’s supposed to so no shower. Other disrepair you will need shower shoes because the tiles are uneven and broken in the stalls.
Lots of camels and donkeys roaming about. The giant statues are a cool thing to stop and see.
With fixed amenities this could be a great stop on a long haul.
Great Roadhouse. Good meals in the pub area. Must stop off on the way through, art gallery and walks.
Used this place as an overnight stopover travelling south with our caravan to the red centre. The amenities weren't the best to say the least, didn't look like they get cleaned very often and this put us off dining there!
A nice stop on the "Greyhound" route along the Stuart Highway. A major road system between Adelaide, South Australia, Australia in the South, AND, Darwin, The Northern Territory, Australia in the north.
Aileron is inside the Nuclear Shelter and means you save everyone getting them there!
The Nuclear shelter runs from Tropics Cancer and Capricorn (North and South) and between Bombay in India, and Nova Scotia in Canada (East and West), on the Australian Side of Earth.
If you can make it anywhere, I would make it Aileron, there are many camping facilities there, as well as hotel/motel kind of thing. It is not far from Alice Springs, The Northern Territory, Australia. (Around 160k's or, 1.5 hours north of "Alice".)
Nice meal - all you can eat for $25. Basic room, just good to lay down after long travel. Bed, rock hard, woke up with a twisted bad back. A bit of updating wouldn't go astray. (mattress toppers for example)
Absolutely wonderful NT hospitality. Well managed and well positioned. Give a bit of good humoured attitude and you will receive it back. Its a gem in the modern world. Don't be precious, and anticipate a good return at this roadhouse. Friendly and accommodating.
Pls contact Wiki Camps as Aileron Roadhouse isn't listed at all.
We had a great stay 2 Nights $35/ night.large clean amenities awesome water pressure. Will be staying again Thanks
Sure it was early, but this morning when I asked if I might use 'the facilities ' the answer I got was laden with expletives.
Look out for the sculptures of the Indigenous man and there is also a woman and child. Worth viewing.
A must 'stop & see' place just off the highway. The Big Man statue, along with the Woman & Child statue are impressive. Inside the roadhouse, there's great artwork.
Sadly, very neglected appearance. The giant sculpture area was very overgrown and looked like it hadn't had any love for a long time.
My fella and I loved the beautiful surroundings at Aileron. The peace and the bush just sucked us in. The roadhouse had everything that we required and the young fella at the counter was friendly and helpful.
