Castaway Norfolk Island

Loved Castaway, speaking to others while we were there I think we made an excellent choice, our room was spacious bed was super comfortable and very clean we had a little kitchenette tea/coffee and you could cook if you wanted but as it was a special holiday for us we ate out most nights the staff were lovely nothing was a problem. You can walk to the town centre (5/10 mins) and eating places if you want. Lovely sitting on the deck area enjoying a drink in the afternoon. Laundry and Wifi available. Thank you Erin and staff for making our stay special, if we were to visit again would definitely stay with you again

Rooms are spotless and roomy, though a little dated. Handy kitchenette and full fridge. Clothing space was limited with just one small wardrobe, hanging space only. No shelves or drawers. Staff and service were excellent, welcoming, cheery & helpful. WiFi good. Cooked breakfasts were excellent. Great location, easy walk to town centre.

A wonderful stay (too short), super convenient location, we had a great self contained one br apartment, Sarah was very friendly and helpful. Do try the wood fired pizza and lemon squash on tap. Will be returning! ️️️️️

There are many factors to determine the ratings of a Hotel. And some factors outweigh the others. What I can tell you - the service at Castaway was beyond what anyone would expect.

There are a few things about Norfolk that aren't obvious. Firstly, it's a a bit difficult and relaxed to arrange things. Maybe this is because everything is so 'fluid', maybe it's because communication is harder - your mobile phone doesn't work on Norfolk.

There is also a scarceness that we aren't used to. Car hire (you need a car to get around), tour seats, dinner reservations - almost everything is in short supply.

The staff at Castaway expertly assisted in getting access to these things and making sure everything was enjoyable.

A excellent lunch dinner and cocktails relax atmosphere close to town centre if I was to return to Norfolk island would love to stay there interesting beer from the brewery not being a beer drinker I enjoyed the samples

Our self-contained unit was very comfortable and SO roomy. We had great weather (Nov 4 - 11,2021) and benefitted from the beautiful breeze so didn't even miss the absence of an airconditioner. The staff were so friendly and accommodating The beer drinkers in our group of 6 found the local beer excellent. Thankyou Sarah and Tony.keep doin' what you're doin' cos it's FABULOUS!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Rooms are clean and spacious, the bar and brewery on site are fantastic! A great covered deck to laze away the afternoons with a drink or two! Meals are beautiful, and wood fired pizza night is not to be missed!

This place is lovely! Quiet and relaxing with lovely views. The staff were very warm & welcoming. The food was amazing, huge portions, great selection. Although there is expensive WiFi you can purchase you most likely will prefer to switch off from the world. Bonus that they had a friendly little dog and a rooster who didn't churp too loudly or early (5: 30am) I hope to come back here!

This place is incredible. From the quality of the amenities to the food to the people, you will not be disappointed! Best spot on the island

Amazing atmosphere, food is amazing staff go above and beyond. The rooms are big, well designed and maintained.

Food was excellent for dinner, rooms very comfortable but the absolute winner are the two hosts Sarah and Tony. They are the perfect couple to run a hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. Comfortable beds and amenities, close to town and very clean. No aircon on all of Norfolk because of cost so be prepare if humid. Good breakfast despite food storage’s. Highly recommend for a stay

Close to town, neat, clean rooms. Our apartment wasn't air-conditioned and didn't have a heater.

Dinner only available from Friday to Monday nights, inclusive.

One of our most loved places for dinner. Watching sunset on the verandah while having a cocktail is mega relaxing! The a la carte meals are beautiful and well crafted.

We had dinner at Castaway after it eas recommend to us by a local. What a great recommendation. A friendly atmosphere and delicious food. A pity we can't go back as they only open Sat - Tue and we'll fly out on sat. Do yourself a favour and try their wonderful food.

Great location, extremely friendly staff, nothing was to much for them to do to ensure that your holiday was a memorable one, great food, clean quiet rooms, would recommend Castaway to anybody travelling to Norfolk Island

We have been home from Castaway Hotel, Norfolk Island for 2 days now and wish we were still there. Sarah and Tony were such wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble and we look forward to going back as soon as we can. Angela and Bernie

Such a relaxed environment, Sarah, Tony and all their staff are fantastic and are more than happy to help with anything, locations to see and things to do. The rooms are large and have their own kitchen.
