Zushi Surry Hills reviews
99Had a great experience at zushi. Experienced food we never tried but would definitely come back for more and felt welcomed by lovely staff including kairy* (apologies if spelt wrong)
What a vibe! Nowhere are you going to find a sushi joint that his this vibe, service and taste!
It’s a plus that they’ve got different sushi’s to what you find everywhere else.
I absolutely loved this place & will be back for sure.
Excellent fresh ingredients made into wonderful sushi rolls! But if you ask me the Honey Prawns are the highlight dish as well as the Matcha Tiramisu.
I’m so glad that I came to Zushi for my very first omakase experience! The food was delicious and Chef Han was so kind in explaining each and every one of the courses. My favourite was by far the A5 wagyu with foie gras – it was heaven in a bite! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Zushi to anyone. Really curious to try their a la carte items so I’ll be back for that!
The tasting menu is on point. All the dishes were really tasty, but the wagyu was the best.
Amazing. Place is very spacious, with an outdoor area. Food was 10/10. The rolls were very tasty, especially the wagyu.delicious.
All up a great experience was had. Would definitely recommend
I went to zushi omakase
Bit noise upper ground floor.
But
It was great food and nice chef.
Come back again 100%
Food was great and excellent combination of flavours. Staff were kind and accommodating.
Took a bit too long to serve up some of the food though. Slightly pricey as well but food and atmosphere felt clean.
Truffle Season menu started!
We are satisfied that we can feel the Korean chef's delicate touch through Omakase.
I've walked past Zushi plenty of times but it never really crossed my mind that maybe it was worth dining at. That is until I was invited to go for lunch. And oh man. I had one of those moments where you have no other choice but to accept that your preconceived ideas about a place were absolutely wrong, and that maybe your compass and ability to judge things could do with refinement and tweaking. Yes, perhaps I had a bias over the fact that it was yet another Japanese restaurant in Surry Hills. But credit to Zushi for proving me otherwise.
It was exquisite Japanese cooking of classic dishes and flavours, with an elevated touch of elegance and fresh, quality ingredients.
Great service and outdoor seating felt a lot more casual than indoors which I prefer. Would recommend if you want to treat yourself to a very delicious meal without breaking the bank.
We previously enjoyed the wonderful food here. This time we tried the Omakase menu which is unbelievably good. The best & freshest Japanese food that I have ever had. Thank you chef Han who prepared all the food right in front of us.
I recently dined at Zushi and was blown away by the amazing customer service and delicious food. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our meal.
The sushi itself was fresh and expertly prepared, with a great variety of options to choose from.
Overall, I highly recommend Zushi to anyone looking for a sushi restaurant in the Surry Hills area. They also have one in Barangaroo which is also pretty good.
Been around a while but still a hidden gem and one of the best modern Japanese restaurants in the area. I love everything about this place including sitting in the garden on a beautiful autumn day.
Try the tempura prawns, I don’t know how they get them so light and fresh.
There is also an amazing duck dish with the silkiest pumpkin I’ve ever tasted. Don’t delay and treat yourself if you haven’t been here before.
Had the set menu and sat outside. Fantastic food and great value. Will definitely go back and highly recommend.
Incredible food! Best Japanese in Sydney and when u consider the price it's not even close - amazing restaurant! Can't recommend it enough!
The place is beautiful, the waiters are very willing to attend, I liked that a lot.and the food is delicious, I recommend it
Zushi was an overall good experience, the food was 4/5 however the service was below than average. I don’t want to go into too much details but really wasn’t impressed at all.
We had awesome Elderflower infused cocktails and fantastic sushi. We were a lil disappointed they ran out of their tiramisu. Overall a really good vibe and food experience
Don’t think I’ve had such a disappointing dining experience. Could have gone to a food court sushi for better Japanese and saved myself over $200. Staff not trained to explain dishes or even say what’s on the plate when it arrives. Still have no idea what the first dish I ate was so that I can recommend not to try. I hope that this was an off night for the restaurant because otherwise they really can’t be asking such prices for sashimi that tasted like water and indifferent service.
I absolutely love this place and will go every chance I get. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff and amazing food. I recently came for dinner with my cousin Tas and our wives. We ordered a wide range of dishes and Tas loved every one of them, especially the wagyu steak (also my favourite). He loved the steak so much that I twice caught him taking some from my wife’s plate when she wasn’t looking. She still suspects it was me but I’ll never betray Tas, he’s my cousin and I love him.
