I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, easy access and parking right outside the room. The jetted tub was fantastic, the bed perfect. I ordered room service for dinner and the food was absolutely amazing and brought to the room quickly. Very quiet inside the rooms too, even though the hotel was busy. Limited breakfast menu and I didn’t realise I’d need my passwords for the streaming services, but otherwise wonderful stay. I will definitely return and I highly recommend this hotel.

Reasonably pleasant interiors, although perhaps looking slightly dated at this point. Friendly and competent staff. Comfortable, king-sized bed. All in all, not bad for the price.

One of the worst customer service experiences we’ve had in our life - glad we only stayed one night. First of all we made a reservation at the on site restaurant (Frankie's) for dinner on the night of our stay. On the day of our reservation, the hotel spam called three times in a row because we did not respond to a text message asking us to confirm our reservation. Fair enough if you want a confirmation - but there is absolutely no need to spam call without leaving any voice messages at all. I’m sure anyone can agree that in this day and age we don’t tend to answer calls from unknown landlines as they tend to be scam callers. I would advise if your intended recipient does not answer the first time, just leave a voice message and ask them to call back - simple. Not every single person can drop everything in that moment to answer a phone call/reply to a text. Since you are operating as a motel, you should understand that it is highly likely your guests are travelling during the day (like us). When returning the restaurant's call, the receptionist spoke with an extremely hostile tone, seemingly schooling us for not responding to their attempts to confirm our reservation - what a great first impression even before arriving!
When we arrived at the motel to check in, there was only one person in front of us in line and we watched the receptionist check them in. We were then left waiting while the receptionist chose to answer a phone call, which sounded like taking a restaurant reservation, instead of serving our group who were standing right in front of the reception desk - very noticeable group of people and obviously waiting. A second receptionist later stepped out and another person had joined the queue after us. The second receptionist asked who was first to be served, learnt that we were checking in and the person behind us was picking up takeaway and asked if she could serve the other customer first as it was going to be “easier”. What was the point of asking who’s first then? Of course we ended up waiting even longer - priorities, am I right?
Furthermore when we had dinner at Frankie's, we were served by a waitress with horrific customer service skills. Wish they were wearing name tags because we would’ve complained about her directly to the manager - an older lady with shorter red hair and black glasses. She was EXTREMELY rough when handling the dishes and cutlery when clearing our table. As she was clearing the table, she got a little bit of gravy on her hands and dropped the stack of plates on our table, without saying a word, and went to clean her hands. She also cleared one of our dishes, which very obviously still had food in it, WITHOUT even asking if we had finished (and FYI, no we hadn’t finished). When we asked for a second bottle of table water, she simply walked past and dropped it on our table and walked off, again without a word. Extremely poor customer service which ruined our night at the restaurant. Will never return to this motel and restaurant again.

Rooms were clean and tidy and not too dated.
Convenient location near the Lithgow CBD.
Very little road traffic noise.

Had a wonderful 2 days at the Zig Zag motel in Lithgow. Had dinner at Frankie's restaurant 2 nights in a row. Fantastic meals. Thank you to the friendly staff, especially Julie who was amazing.

The shower head was a little broken, which made showering difficult with a few stray hairs throughout. The food was great and the service was very friendly. Great room prices, the restaurant is a little pricey but worth it.

Refreshingly clean, tidy and quiet. Large comfortable room. Very bubbly young woman on reception. Would stay here again.

One of the best Motels ever. Very clean and comfortable room, helpful staff and excellent cooked breakfast.
Get away from the usual tourist spots in the mountains, head down the hill a short drive away from Katoomba and Blackheath and discover amazing Lithgow and area around it. So much to do and see with zigzag motel as a base. Mining museum, Eskbank house, Blast furnace Park, Tarana pub, Hassans wall Hartley, etc etc.
Lithgow golf course is great with kangaroos lounging around and maybe a brown snake. Very friendly locals and someting different from the usual mountains trip.

Not the same place I visited last year.
Reception good.
Room good.
Food ok.but it used to be awesome.
Ordered the same meal.
I know its hard to repeat a perfect meal.
But it wasn't a complex one.

I always choose to stay at the zigzag, motel when I’m in Lithgow.
It’s great value for money.
The rooms are always very clean, and the staff are always so friendly.
The restaurant is fantastic

Very nice, clean & comfortable room. After a little bit of confusion regarding the set up of the room required due to difficulties getting in touch (possibly due to booking through an online booking service), we were able to talk with the really lovely staff & have an extra rollaway bed brought in to our twin room for our 2nd child. Kids loved it - said it was the “fanciest hotel ever”, so obviously it ticked their boxes!
Dinner in Frankie’s restaurant was great, and we also had a lovely breakfast delivered to the room.
All in all a really great experience, thanks for having us Zig Zag Motel.

You can allways tell a Family owned and operated Business because they care. And the zig zag cares. Clean, polite, everything worked and was in great condition. I've had some bad experiences lately was was Very Impressed with my stay. Thank you for your Hospitality.

The motel itself is very clean and modern. It has a microwave, fridge, window, shower, double bed, dining table and chairs plus a TV with an aircon.

It offers a few amenities like room service and a choice of free breakfast or free wifi.

The staff were very nice but seemed a little bit slow.

Overall very nice, I would recommend.

I will never stay here ever again. I requested to pay cash on arrival. I received a phone call confirming if I was still coming, my payment via Visa card was not mentioned… instead my Visa card was billed,
I live 1 hour drive from a bank a d needed the mo ey for other things, regardless, maybee I sound petty but if I’m given the choice in the first place which was cash on arrival then that’s what one would presume was to happen.

The room is neat and tidy also beds are comfortable this is my second experience and I am still happy if I want come back to Lithgow I will choose Zigzag motel again.
