Doing DTS at YWAM Newcastle changed my life. The tools, skills, and relationship with God I built here continue to permeate my day to day life despite change in scenery or situation. As a staff, the experience I gained here has given me a leg up on every job I applied for after working here. I learned so much about leadership, myself, and most importantly, God. There are obviously downfalls with every workplace and even christian environment, but I can confidently say that the positives impact surpasses the negative one for me with YWAM Newcastle.

YWAM Newcastle was a place of learning and adventure for me for 4 years. I love its energetic community, its commitment to empowering young leaders, its bold creative innovation in youth work and other ministries and the freedom I was given to find out where and who God wanted me to be. I am now working with YWAM in Europe but I still consider YWAM Newcastle my second home.

They could think about their staffs future. And also have some self reflection in the school of "charismatic leadership becoming almost abusive". There were some pretty iffy decisions made constantly. And the idea that you just do what "the lord is saying" was thrown around with too much weight.

But as I say. A lot of the people there were and are wonderful.

Learned a lot from this school. Created lots of friendships. I don’t regret making this decision to do my DTS here! God grew me deeper in trusting in him more and gaining my trust in people again.

Love this place, God works in a lot of ways, and through lot of places and people, and this is one of those places.

I sent my 18 year old daughter there, she had a wonderful time. She also forgot all other aspects of her Christianity. Radical can be used to glorify Christ! But she has been encouraged and built up all her life and now is tearing away from the principles instilled to pursue wild inspirations without regard to Godly respect for her parents or balance or family values. She is a passionate Godly young woman, the world will be gaining a light and her sisters and father and I will be detrimentally affected by her youthful rash decisions. I believe it is the message of YWAM to recruit and understandably speak life into this sort of sold out living to the point of dividing families. Part time occasional missions trips are reasonable, and extraordinary and I believe we should use the discernment and wisdom that God gives us to make decisions to glorifyChrist and serve Him to our fullest capacity while honoring His Word but instead they are being taught to completely forget anyone and everything, jump in all the way with both feet, encouraging to bring division, twisting scripture. - and if that's the choice they have to make. It may be at the expense of the people who love her the most. God bless.

YWAM Newcastle was a place of learning and adventure for me for 4 years. I love its energetic community, its commitment to empowering young leaders, its bold creative innovation in youth work and other ministries and the freedom the elders gave me to find out where and who God wanted me to be. I am now working with YWAM in Europe but i still consider YWAM Newcastle my second home. God has moved and will move through that community for decades to come because there is a deep sense of intimacy with the Father that grows in every season.

I was 21 when I chose to do a Discipleship Training School. I wanted to find purpose in my life and learn more about God. I finished my school with all that and much, much more. YWAM Newcastle is the place that taught me how to love God more, how to love myself more, and how to love my family more.

YWAM Newcastle has been a consistent and stable environment for me to grow and mature in my relationship with Jesus. I've been sharpened in my character and leadership and have a firm foundation on which God can build into my future.

I got to hang out with YWAM for a few months when my place of employment had me do an online communications course with them! It was fantastic and I loved the welcoming vibe, honesty and the raw world that they allowed me to be part of. The staff are so dedicated, and what became even more special was seeing God lead my cousin to do a DTS at YWAM Newcastle, and watch the love for the Lord she came out with, after being disinterested in being a follower of Christ the year before. YWAM Newcastle will always hold a very special role in my heart and I love seeing the impact you have in the local AND global community!

YWAM Newcastle is where I did my DTS and started my journey in YWAM on my own. I learned how to truly follow God, hear Him and obey Him. Though God called me to Mexico long term I wouldn't be who I am today without the things God taught me during my time in Newie. I also learned practice skills, how to make coffee, manage a cafe, and even learned how to play drums. Loved it and I can't wait to visit again some day!

Before my DTS last October I was looking to know God more and to live an adventure with Him. Through YWAM Newcastle God provided exactly that, and more! I experienced what's like to live in community filled with radical people after Gods heart, I lived in a completely different culture than mine, which made me grow in a lot of ways, but most importantly I got to share His love in this broken world. YWAM Newcastle is a great place to experience Jesus and to live according His word.
