Yasaka Ramen Rhodes reviews
58I was hungry so it tasted good in the moment but felt sick the day after the meat had a weird jelly texture idk if it was collagen/marrow or what it was but not good. The broth was also quite salty. Don’t eat here.
Bro the food is so oily I had to stay in to complain takes like 48 mins for food to arrive and the food is bad and so loud
Their yasaka special ramen is fantastic, the broth is nice, rich and thick, the noodles are actually to the size of traditional japanese ramen, and the meat is nice and tender! Unfortunately the only shortcoming it had was the chashu pork which despite having wonderful texture, tasted a little bit too gas charred. It would have been perfect otherwise
Updated review Nov 2023:
Greasy broth, doesn't have as much umami as before. Hope they fix this because the old broth was much better. The kakuni and charsiu has gone downhill too. Charsiu was dry and bland- like it just came out of freezer. Kakuni hadn't got the wow flavour to it anymore.
We also have the burdock chips this time. Crispy but way too salty.
The spicy Karaage was a karaage with extra sriracha sauce. It was good.
Overall, a disappointing visit this time. Will wait until they iron things out.
My review in 2022:
Yummy broth, delicious meat, perfectly cooked eggs. Amazing value.
Yasaka Special in shio broth is a must-try!
We also love their takoyaki
If you want to waste your money, go to this store. You will effectively waste your money whatever you order. The chef (doesnt even wanna call like this) apparently never had ramen before and just made food from one's imagination.
Mashi Mashi King makes any royalty's stomach full and warm. Well balanced broth, meat lovers portion and the extra noodles for free tipped us over! I started before taking the photo
Probably one of the worst ramen shops I have been to, the broth is absolutely horrible and drenched in oil. The noodles are raw and the chicken was pink and raw.if i could give it lower stars I would.
We used to come here often until I got food poisoning from their ramen. Haven't returned since.
First they don’t have chicken broth and the veggie broth was so blend and taste was so bad I won’t recommend this place at all
Service was good, and everything came out quickly.
However I must say I really don’t like their tonkotsu broth. They have 3 kinds - tonkotsu shio, shoyu and miso. We had the miso base in the signature ramen and the shio base in the yuzu ramen. The signature ramen was better in terms of taste but the yuzu one just felt incompatible with the tonkotsu? Also this is not my first time having yuzu infused ramen. All the soups are veryyy creamy which if you prefer you’ll like but it gets too much quickly, and makes it harder to finish the bowl of noodles.
OMG.best Ramen in Sydney in my opinion. The pork literally melts in your mouth. Intense favours from the broth. We'll be coming back
One of the staff was absolutely rude, threw the food on the table through my shoulder without saying anything, need training. Broth is in a weird consistency, and got a big lump of ramen absolutely crunchy in my ramen.
From all the bowls of ramen that I’ve had in my life, this is the worst. The broth was too fatty and oily that it was barely edible. It also smelled a bit rancid and was generally just an unpleasant dish. Extremely disappointed and really felt like I wasted my money.
Located at the ground level in the heart of Rhodes - Rhodes Central, Yasaka Ramen is really convenient and popular because it's the only ramen place in Rhodes accessible to locals.
Whilst it is slightly more expensive than the average "normal dining out" at ~$20 - ~$30 per person, the ingredients used are very clean and of good quality. Good place to try if you want nice ramen whilst being in Rhodes!
PS I always get the Yasaka Special.
I don't do this. But one of the worst meals I've eaten. Had take away spicy ramen. Terrible quality and no taste.
Don't waste money and mood for this place, Ordered Curry rice $15+pork katsu $7, rice is cold (after told them in the beginning they just bring it to microwave, I guess their rice cooker might been unplugged awhile), curry is the top salty I have in my life, pork katsu texture like eating cracker.
One of the worst run restaurants in the area. Firstly, they do not take phone orders so you must wait 20 min in store for takeaway. Second, their service is poor and makes no sense. I tried to order a curry for dinner, and was told I could not because there was no more rice. I said, that’s fine I can have it without rice. Their staff word for word said, “It won’t taste good. ” I replied saying I am ordering to take home and can get my own rice. But no, they refused to serve me. What kind of business is this? !
Not only is the service bad but the food is average at best. I have eaten in before and truly, their ramen tastes horrid. The whole restaurant reeks of oil.
I do not understand how this place is keeping afloat. Absolutely would not recommend to anybody.
Does not know how to make base soup.ramen soup was smelly + did not cook right way. Karage chicken was not cook as Japanese recipe. The chicken was cooked like as just fried chicken. Disappointed.don't waste your money + time.
Ramen with averagely $20 a bowl. Came with thick layer of fat and very thick broth. 2 slices of meat and few bamboo shoot and tiny amount of ramen.
Not worth the wait or price and/or the name because it’s pretty well known for some reason.
Definitely not my taste and I don’t think I’d eat here again.
The ramen doesn’t taste very good. Even the smell of the broth coming from the restaurant isn’t very appetizing. The curry is not bad, but has no carrot or potato like most traditional Japanese curries would. The interior is very nice however.
