Writing NSW reviews
23Wonderful vibe, fully welcoming, and a haven of peace for writers. Loads of opportunities and activities that embrace you as a writer, and challenge you, same.
Six week online creative non-fiction course with Ashley Kalagian-Blunt. Weekly writing exercises. Weekly opportunities to provide and be given feedback on writing. Excellent resources. Questions were answered promptly. Excellent course.
I just finished the Building your Author Brand seminar. Really helpful. Great information well delivered by Kate Larson.
I am a member of the Bookbinders guild and love attending short courses and using the marvellous gear here.
An oasis on both a hot day and a rainy day. A verandah to have our coffee after a morning walk around the Bay - and now even better since the installation of heritage flagstone tiles in 2023
As Writing NSW, was our starting point to the tour of Calan Park, we had a quick look inside. An amazing look at early white Australian history!
I have experienced a marvellous year with Writing NSW enrolling in online courses in poetry and essay writing. I could never have managed to attend the Sydney based courses. These three courses (two in Poetry) have provided a structure with deadlines and realistic feedback about my efforts in writing. I have loved every minute and my writing is improving dramatically.
A spectacular space of community where your goals feel valid, achievable and enjoyable.
Highly recommended Emily Maguire’s Year of the Novel course. She is an incredible teacher.
Some interesting courses, mostly online but would prefer live classes as online is too complex and limiting. Reminds me of professional development courses when I was teaching. Participation in real time is powerful.
A wonderful community for supporting developing and established writers. My confidence has grown since becoming an active member of Writing NSW and attending their wonderful courses.
I've taken two courses now with Writing NSW that were both peer critique courses along with expert tutor feedback. I've loved my time with Writing NSW and feel stretched as a writer in all the right ways.
Fabulous course with a really well prepared tutor who genuinely engaged with all participants
A wonderful experience to hear all the steps to publication and get professional feedback on my work.
Rebecca is a very insightful empathatic critique and the course gave me the confidence to continue
Spookily atmospheric to sunny leafy surroundings where it is easy to park. Well selected and qualified course presenters with practical experienece in helping people to improve their writing. Nice easy respectful interactions, well priced and unlimited tea/coffee/biscuits.
I've been a member of Writing NSW for many years. Haven't been here for quite a while, but went recently to the Children's and YA Festival. Not the easiest place to get to, but the place itself is beautiful - so steeped in history.
A professional and effective distributor of information and events for writers. The only area that is weak is competitions conducted by Writing NSW. Compared to FAW groups they do comparatively little in that area.
This organisation is a wonderful resource for writers; with great festivals, talented tutors and staff and a beautiful building in which to learn
Beautiful old building and surrounds & attended a great writing course with so many inspiring people and a fabulous and accomplished teacher.
