Wran Leisure Centre

Love this place. Wonderful staff. Great atmosphere. They open at 8am to 12pm. Pool Water is already warm. There is also a sauna. Prices for entry is great and affordable for everyone. Lots of parking and parks for the kids to play on.

Love Wran Liesure Centre. Staff are friendly. The pool is already heated and ready to swim in. So relaxing and great environment.

I use this facility mostly for its sauna. It's an infrared unit, that can seat 4 people.
It does the job, staff are friendly and helpful.

This was a lovely safe pool to swim in when I was pregnant and after my baby was born. It's small and all enclosed so it's not great for laps, but it's perfect for sheltered swimming.

Very friendly staff, especially Sam the lifeguard who's been most helpful. I wish the pool can be bigger.

As with everything, too many muslims. Best to travel out to the beach if you really want to enjoy a pleasant swim.

It is not big pool. The shower area not many as well. So if there are many people, you have to wait bit longer to take turn in the shower area.

But the thing that i like is they have a session for ladies only every tuesday and thursday. Unfortunately it is only for one hour. I hope they put more hours. The staff also nice. And the pool was warm too.

Lovely place lovely people, staff very freindly, secure and always feel safe to let my kids to swimming, lifeguard always look out for all swimmers.

I usually go to wran pool in the early morning
Today I went there and surprisingly found a sign that said pool closed and went to ask for the reason Daniel said who is a lifeguard there that there is chemical issues in the pool.
They should have announced that in the website which indicated it was open or let the people know one day at least before.many people come from far away places cos they take it for granted it is open everyday except Sundays.

Really bad customer services trying call the center 26-06-19 sins 4 pm till 4: 50 pm not one picking up the phone!

Had a very disturbing experience today from this pool at 1020hrs. I witnessed an incident where a manager (Sam) or what he calls himself as, was telling off his staff for going into the reception area without asking him the manager first. The young man was trying to explain to him that "I just scrubbed the side of the pool and I just needed a rest" (Which I also witnessed while the so called manager was chatting to me and no one is in the reception) Sam was also being sarcastic to the young boy by saying "what? Do you want some coffee? " Sam the manager told him I could get you fired for not behaving yourself. I just shook my head, I feel that the manager Sam was a bully, not only was he telling him off in front of me a customer but he was loud about it and it sounds like he's trying to rudely embarrass the young man. I feel for this young man, as my daughter was also a lifeguard once. I hope the owner of the pool will see this and investigate please. How many young people has this Sam been abusing? There is only the 2 of them there. There is only me and my client who's in the pool and Sam was standing next to me talking about his holidays while the young man was scrubbing. When he got up Sam expect him to walk around the pool as well?

I have heard some disturbing news that the Wran Leisure Centre at Villawood will be closing in March 2019.
This is the Local Council's discison which was advertised in the Torch local newspaper. Quote "After Community Discussion we will be Closing the Weak Leisure Centre at Villawood.end Quote".
We who attend the Centre were NOT even approached by Bankstown Council for Any So Called Discussion, it's just not right.
Not one person that attends the Wran Centre knew about this & are most upset to hear about it.
There are lots of people who regularly come to the pool eg People recovering from surgery, older people with Arthritis, Disabled, Young Adult's with Mental health issues with their Carers, little kids learning to swim, & workers who swim before work.
We are of mixed Nationalities & we all get on well together.
Where are we supposed to go Now?

I have attended a ladies only session here and I have to say, I hope management considers the following and amends their service accordingly.

Time: The ladies only sessions are on in the hottest part of the day when noone wants to be out of their house, let alone park the car in the sweltering heat, swim for only an hour and go home in a burning car.
Everyone knows 1 hour is a very short time to swim,
Especially when people are trying to find budget activities for the school holidays.

Cost: nearly 7 dollars for an adult for one hour is not value for money.

Have you made these times for ladies only because its empty from other customers?

Management: please extend the ladies only session time and make it a more reasonable time of day where people can enjoy their visit without enduring the oven temperatures coming in and out of the facility. (E.g 8 or 9 am - 10 or 11am, 3 till 5pm etc.)

I rate the center a 3 out of 5 for the following reasons;

Service: service is always good and friendly when I visit.
Facilities; The facilities are usually clean, but are tired and dated, and the place is looking like it could do with a really good clean, or a renovation, painting. You can also purchase from the counter, cool drinks, icecream and some small snacks for the children.

Vibe; Good to come and teach the children how to swim, there are numerous classes run throughout the day for a variety of different ages, and there are trained professionals on site that can assist your children to staff safe during the summer season.

Value for money; Good value for the services provided.

Overall, the pool and the attention that the staff pay to keeping it clean is of a high standard, the proximity to transport is okay, but you still need a car to access the facilities.

There is free parking on site and also a park outside, and a small playground for children, which is kept nice and clean, however, bring hats for the children, it can get really hot in this area in the summer.

Nice and warm for winter swims. Lovely staff. Bit shallow for adults but great for young kids to learn in

Building seems old, but the pool is heated and pleasantly warm, toilets and showers are clean enough. Fenced playground by the entrance is nice. However, the pool is really shallow, deep end is only 1.2m, taller people might find it difficult to swim laps here.
