This is the worst (poorly stocked with basics and very limited options) Woolies Metro I’ve ever experienced in my 3 decades living in Sydney. Whether you’re a traveller or a local, if you need decency nearby, go here:
- For a real Woolies, go to the full store in Macleay St Potts Point
- For a real Coles, go to the one under the Coke sign in Kings Cross (now called Potts Point)
- Ignore the Woolies Metros in Potts Point & Surry Hills because they are both a waste of time too
- If you’re after Aldi, ignore Darlinghurst as it’s also too limited - go to a bigger Aldi in the suburbs

This is a very convenient small market. It opens at 07: 00 am and it has everything you need to cater yourself as a visitor in the area.
Highly suggested.

I’ve never been to a metro store before and I was pleasantly surprised! Still the great range I know and love but with an added sushi bar, fresh to go fridge section and cafe. Fantastic! And this one also has parking underneath that suits our extra tall car and gave the first hour of parking free if we spent $10 instore

Woolworths Metro in East Sydney is the most poorly run in Sydney. The purchaser buys the same amount of expensive products as they do they're most popular. Clearly they're going to run out, and it can take a month before it returns to the shelves. They take the Opening Hours sign down and open an hour late and close an hour early. The staff have the attitude that the customers are a pest. I only go there because it's close.

Ok, they must have a new new manger. Because they have gone through the "lets change all the products and where everything is placed " i have to say though. This time it is finally for the better! More choices of the products i like and slightly a better layout. Will see how long it is before they change it again ‍️

Working in the CBD, I often drop in to this Woolworths for emergency snacks and/ or a morning coffee.

QR code check-in is easy, and the store is always clean and orderly.

The female barista who regularly works when I visit is a superstar, nailing my order each time. My colleagues also always appreciate this service. Thank you!

I rang to check if a product was available, when I arrived 10 min later the product was not available.
None of the staff would assist the register operator check if the product was out the back.
Not only that lots of OOS and staff looked frantic and disorganised.

On Friday 10/09/2021 I went to Woolies Woollomooloo around 3: 40pm to grab some protein before my training session. While checking in on the QR code prior entry, another guy walked in and looked to me like "what are you looking at" clearly because he did not check in. (Woolworth Woolloomooloo has no covid Marshal or anybody at the door to check if people is checking in or not).
On my way out to the self check-out I came across to staff member SEAN (mid 50's, caucasian middle built men) And I've notified him about the person that did not checked-in. His response was " That is not my job" "I'm not getting paid to do that", and he suggested if I want to complain I should send en email the hierarchy of the company, as he won't do anything to change the check-in QR process at the door.
After hearing the guy, I've not only felt extremely unsafe at that supermarket, the lack of professionalism showed by him was disgusting and made the whole shopping experience a bit bitter to be honest.
I have been affected personally by Delta and we have some cases around 2011, so duty of care should be everybody's TOP-PRIORITY at this stage.
Please Woolworth ensure your staff complaints with current Health Orders, and make sure your staff cares about the community they're at.
Somebody like that guy definetly should NOT be working in costumer service with such a terrible attitude.
I would like to say I rarely complain, but this is serious and should be addressed.
Regards,
Ch.

I hope this Woolies can improve because its closest to home but have found the fruit here sits on the shelves longer than the competition, Coles or Harris Farm is more fresh.

I went looking for a cooked chicken, couldn't have been anymore helpful. The staff are just really decent people.

The WORST customer service ever from the cook in the deli to the assistance Manager Grant (Looks like Ned kelly's bro) who didn't even apologise because the oven was not turn on to cook food and making me wait over 15 minutes and even then the cook wasn't ready to do his job because he was occupied by other tasks. Only Emily was the decent one there who managed to recognise the issue and apologised on behalf of the store. Terrible management and new employees required, except Emily who should be promoted.

This place used to be so good. Staff were always friendly and helpful, items were always well stocked with a good variety. I don't know what's happened over the past year or so (covid aside) but things have gone downhill in a big way.

All of the regular staff have gone and been replaced with people, who at best, actively avoid making eye contact with customers. A special mention goes out to the rudest barista I have ever encountered. She will pretend to look busy to avoid talking to you, then when she does acknowledge your presence (with a death stare), will stand there like a mute forcing you to state your order before reluctantly turning away to make the coffee. She has never said hello, goodbye, thank you or anything else for that matter. In an environment where so many people are out of work thanks to the covid restrictions, you would think she'd be happy to have a job. Apparently not. The Asian lady who occasionally makes coffees is lovely though.

Dropping a star for a little feedback, for click and collect orders it would be good if there was a way to validate your parking if over the $10 minimum for < 1 hour parking. Perhaps this is an option but it was not clear to me in store or on the pick slip provided with my order. $9 for 5 mins a little steep.

Worst woolworths ever rude staff and can never find items you need as shelves are never filled and don't mention milk because they hardly have any

Great selection for a smaller store. Staff very friendly. One supervisor I observed being quite rude to the barista. Dictating what customers had arrived first and served first. Only problem with that is she was completely incorrect and was more concerned about belittling staff.
