I was just recently in Wolper for 18 days after hip replacement surgery and then 5 weeks of outpatient and everything about my stay and follow up was outstanding! I highly recommend Wolper for anyone needing rehab after surgery.

I was fortunate to be accepted after surgery, to the Wolper Jewish Hospital. From the friendly face at the front door, to the ward staff, the person serving tea, to the physios, it was like being is a person's warm environment. The support, care and meals could not have been better Having spaces, a coffee shop and a library area added warmth. Very proud of the history of Zdr Fanny Redding and Mrs Walper who started this so many years ago.

The entire experience from start to finish as an in-patient and now as an outpatient at Wolper Jewish Rehabilitaion Hospital has been absolutely amazing.

Every team member is highly competent, kind and lovely:
- the quiet-mannered, confidence-inspiring Dr Murrant
- all of the encouraging, reassuring, challenging and expert Physios under the wonderful guidance of Cody (who they all say is a wonderful Boss)
- the fabulous Nurses, never anything but kind day and night, pre-empting my needs for ice after therapy and meds
- the so sweet Catering staff (producing gourmet food and catering for my many food allergies with enthusiasm and goodwill and spoiling me with yummy Popcorn with my tea and always with a wide smile!)
- the Cleaning staff (doing a spotless clean / awesome job and timing their cleans for when I was at my physio and hydrotherapy sessions)
- the sweet, kind and competent Occupational Therapist, Arielle
- the friendly, capable Reception Team
- George (?) making great drinks and having a joke in the Kiosk.

Added to that, the facilities are fabulous from the private room with ensuite, the library, the terrace, the Kiosk, the gym for physio and best of all the hydrotherapy pool and the decor is tasteful throughout (not sterile like most hospitals). Lastly, the helpful and informative sessions are so useful and reassuring.

The Wolper Team have created such a welcoming community-feel and I felt part of a family with my fellow residents, despite us all going through rehab for painful hip, knee, back, shoulder surgeries and other illnesses.

I highly recommend The Wolper Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital and exceptional Wolper Team for anyone needing in-patient (then outpatient) rehabilitiation!

Understanding that everyone's experience will be different, I was none the less very surprised to read any negative reviews.
My account is nothing but positive. I spent 9 days at Wolper following a total knee replacement. The facilities were superb and immaculately clean. The nursing staff/doctors/physio's were attentive and nothing was ever a bother, no matter what the time of day. As a "fussy eater" I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of tasty dishes on the menu and the kitchen staff were happy to omit anything I didn't normally eat. I would stay at Wolper again without hesitation.

An absolutely incredible place. My mum was at Wolper rehab for 2 weeks and while there received second to none care. I can not speak highly enough of this fantastic hospital.

My husband, Alan, has just been discharged from the Wolper rehabilitation ward. He has not stopped praising the amazing friendly attitude of not only the medical staff but that of every person who attended to him.
The food was delicious, and his meals were served by friendly helpful people.
He is so impressed at the efficient management of the hospital which has facilitated a relaxed and smooth recovery.
Thank you to one and all.

It is hard to overstate how good this place is. I had a left knee replacement which is painful and quite debilitating. The nursing staff and doctors are kind, considerate and carefully listen to you and your needs. The physios are experts in getting the best out of you, even when you are in pain. It is tempting to think you can do rehab at home. What I realised from this process is that rehab has so many benefits. I learnt about pain management, when I can push myself and when rest is important. Highly recommended.

I cannot praise the staff and setup of this fit for purpose, 50 year plus institution. I arrived a broken man, transferred from North Shore Private Hospital following a full hip replacement. From Hell to Heaven. From chaos, impersonal "care" and generally extreme pain and discomfort, to dedicated, caring, professional and compassionate staff. Most have been at the hospital over many years and consider it "family". That feeling is passed onto their patients.

My life literally changed the minute I passed through their doors. They changed my pain meds after a detailed discussion of my situation and understanding my needs. They spent every hour of the day looking after me and caring for me and rehabilitating me. An unbelievable process for which I will be eternally grateful.

Anyone needing rehabilitative care following a knee or hip procedure in Sydney would be moronic not to try book their care here at the Wolper.

Thanks again!

In my view, the Nursing Management are infantile, immature and adversarial; unable to cope with contemporary health issues. They are not good advocates for the community either, which is surprising. The attitude of a Clinical Nurse Specialist equally as disappointing. These folks unfortunately detract from what could be a worthwhile establishment.

Fantastic, friendly, amazing staff. Everyone is super friendly, happy, supportive and sensational. Walking in at the front desk you are greeted by happy, smiling people who cannot be more helpful. The nursing staff, doctors, support staff, tea/snack staff - everyone is amazing. When visiting to my mum when she was in rehab and bringing her for her outpatient rehab, I was always welcomed and looked after as well as mum was. The support and rehab she received was absolutely fantastic and everyone that looked after her were super caring and genuine and did all they could. It is an excellent hospital and far exceeded what i was expecting a rehab hospital to be. Thank you Wolper and all the staff for looking after mum so well!

Called to ask them about the booking process for one of their doctors. The friendly receptionist there quickly gave me the details I needed and answered all my questions.

I had an ear operation here at Wolper Jewish Hospital in the Year 2001. The staff were very helpful, kind, and friendly, not only to me as the patient, but they were also very friendly and helpful to my parents who stayed in a Hotel so they could visit me. Thank you so much.

Terrible they have gone downhill sadly. Once good but not any, ore. Physiotherapist has no respect or empathy for the elderly, quite rude and pushy with no patience what so ever! The food is basic and limited choice. Sadly my mother’s been there a few times and would not allow her to go there again if she had to!

My recent stay for rehabilitation was superb in every sense of the word.
A special shout out to Natalie Ernesti the physiotherapist that’s guiding my program she is professional and knowledgeable, so gifted in communication and above all the benefits I am achieving through her.

Thank you Natalie I am always looking forward to your training because of the variety of different exercises most of all the benefits I am receiving.

My mother recently spent 2 weeks undergoing rehab and care at Wolper post a shoulder reconstruction operation. She exited very impressed and satisfied from the experience. Wolper is a first class retreat and the service and attention provided by the various medical and physio staff was extremely thorough. And it was a relaxing stay also which was necessary in her case. This is the place you want to end up at for anyone who requires their range of specialist medical care. K, DOVER HEIGHTS

I had a Total Knee Replacement @ St V's Private end April 2013.
My surgeon advised two Rehab Hospitals in the eastern suburbs.

I live in the northern beaches area but my son's home is in the eastern suburbs.

My local very experienced Physiotherapist who treated me prior to surgery for 2 months twice weekly
expressed Wolper Jewish Hospital was excellent. The Physio with her Master's Degree had much experience years ago to do with rehabilitation & she knew my surgeon.

Wolper Jewish hospital's staff & treatment was that of excellence. Even "boot camp" became bearable & it had to be. The staff most generally were so understanding, efficient & many brightened my two weeks as an inpatient. Whilst staying at my son's home for a further 4 weeks following my discharge I returned twice weekly for Physio & Hydrotherapy.

I would have done an extra few weeks as an outpatient but time I went home to my house with
multiple stairs. As I had a post operative Deep Vein Thrombosis @ St Vincent's Private Hospital this meant additional treatment for 6 weeks. The Rehab doctor @ Wolper was marvellous, a happy lovely young women such a joy to be treated by her. The Physiotherapists & RN in that department gave the highest standard of care & treatment also.

As I was originally a Registered General Nurse, Midwife, Occupational Health Nurse, Occupational Health & Safety & Rehabilitation Manager (I have an post graduate Degree from University) & with a long professional career before retirement at 49 years of age, having worked for five large manufacturing companies, ending my career as NSW & ACT OH& S & Rehab Advisor to one of the largest Australian banks before I left to live in Cambs. UK for many years I think I can adequately recommend the care given to me @ Wolper.

I thank all those who cared for me at Wolper Jewish Hospital.
