WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo reviews
53Small zoo. I enjoyed the part near the alligator and the Tassie Devils. Great day spent with my Family and friends.
Wildlife Sydney Zoo is fantastic! Diverse animal exhibits, informative presentations, and a great family experience. The interactive elements make it engaging for all ages. A must-visit to discover and appreciate our incredible wildlife.
Visited on a Friday with my two toddlers. Wasn't busy at all which was nice. Kangaroos, wombat, koala, crocs and some lizards- nothing to write home about for the price point. Conveniently located for a rainy day activity but too expensive for what it is.
It's nice that you can see koalas and kangaroos indoors. It is also compactly summarized.
Brilliant small zoo of just Australian wildlife: koalas, platypus, kangaroos, crocs, wombats, tassie devils, cassowary, lots of birds, lots of insects, lots of reptiles, all up close. Loved it!
The price is too high for what they offer. Besides some terrariums, a group of kangaroos and some koalas in a local pub? !
Unfortunately, I had too high expectations.
Great experience. Get a combined ticket with the Wild Life so you’ll have a day filled with animals. Also - koalas! And kangaroos, echidnas, platypus (hard to see but she was there), and other animals native to the continent.
We had a great time here. It is good to visit once a year for an Amazing experience. Please always buy the combo deals for a better experience.
I believe that it’s a nice place to go when you are still new in Sydney and they demonstrate a lot about the Australian Culture and the animals that you can find here.
I personally rather go to sea life, but the wildlife doesn't stay behind.
Tiny, packed, low quality place. Overpriced and bad conditions apply to animals. No aircon for visitors and no real habitat other than floral glass cages for animals. Wouldn’t advise, u won’t miss anything. I would prefer to walk around in the nature to observe Australian animals next time.
We paid $130 for 2 adults and 1 child i may as well have just thrown my money away. I did not see one interesting animal who know where they were hiding. All i saw were lizards, snakes sleeping and a crocodile that did not move for over 20 minutes. Complete waste of time and money.
Was not as busy as sealife, enjoyable to see quite a few Australian animals in particular the platypus, clean and tidy
We were in Darling harbour and got a deal with our Big bus tour to go to 3 of the local attractions so popped in for an hour or so and had a bit of fun. Loads of families there. You can get a picture with a koala for extra $25 and go down in the tube to say hi to the huge crocodile if that is what you were after. An easy way to check out some of our weird native animals if your visiting from overseas and have limited time. Enjoyed our time here
Kids really enjoyed the place. They liked Tiger & Lions the most. It's spacious, have toilet facilities, have coffee shops. Good place for a family to enjoy the whole day.
Haven't been to this zoo for 10 years, very impressed with the varieties of wild life being added including the big 5 Oz animals, and how well they kept the zoo. Very nice and clean place with super friendly zoo keepers who are really passionate and professional. Went there with my sister and our 2 kids and they are so lucky to get a few private animal encounter experiences offered by the amazing zoo keeper ladies. We had a very enjoyable morning there, it's perfect for families. Love it and thank you:)
Bit disappointing overall.
I remember when it first opened it was one of the largest wild life/zoo places in Sydney. It used to have two floors full of reptiles and insects and native animals and was different to Taronga Zoo.
But about the a decade ago the first floor was carved out for Madame Tussauds wax museum. Now when you enter the wildlife park you go straight to the second floor.
What is lost from the first floor? If you visit the wax museum you'll see it's an actually significant amount of floor space. There used to be lots of insects and large display for Australian landscapes so you can actually look inside an ants' Nest for example
Now all those bugs and insects are gone and replaced by these little boxes outside the cafe
As for the rest of the wildlife all the displays are very sparse. There are plenty of snakes and lizards, in fact that's all you remember seeing walking around the place. There are also a few boxes of frogs but even then they have less than what Taronga Zoo has to offer.
As you walk around you will notice there aren't many other people around you either. It's really a tourist trap and without tourists there is no reason for locals to visit more than once a decade.
Each display would have one animal inside and outside there was one wombat and a couple of kangaroos. Somehow we missed the way to walk outside to see them I'm not sure how.
Further along there was a kangaroo walk where you could see a couple of kangaroos but they are all smart enough to face away from the people. The general experiences that all the animals are so far away from where you stand that you don't get too really see much. You might wonder why the photos look or blurry, that is because a lot of the glass is very cloudy either from age or just being dirty.
At the top there are some very sad looking koalas outside the cafe. You can pay them an extra $25 for the privilege of having a photo with one. This is definitely a money spinner for tourists but not of interest for locals when you could probably get much closer to a koala at Taronga Zoo without any cost.
All in all are quite disappointing place which might entertain the kids for a little while. That's why you will see the line is so short compared to the aquarium next door
There wasnt as many guests during our visit compared to times prior covid. We got to actually enjoy spending some time with our kid rather than rush through the crowd and be pressured to move on. Has a nice friendly chat with the staff member who was nice enough to take us back stage as well! Never happened to us before.
Nice, but animals are all hiding from viewers. In few slides, it is hard to locate what you are looking for inside. Crocodile is stealing show. Rest just usual Australia reptiles. Worth going to have quick walk. Two hours are more than enough.
Sydney Wildlife World is a wildlife park in the Darling Harbour precinct, on the western edge of the Sydney central business district, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Opened in September 2006, the zoo is located adjacent to a leisure and retail precinct that includes the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and Madame Tussauds Sydney.
Bit underwhelming, last visited when it was the full size before the wax museum took up half the space. Much less interesting now.
