Josh designed our beautiful new family home in Canberra under construction in 2019. Josh prepares stylish designs and provides creative solutions to practical problems and budget constraints. Josh is a great communicator that works collaboratively with his client. Very high levels of documentation with great attention to detail and passion for his work. Beautiful interior selections also.

Working with Whittle Architects was an experience I'm very happy to recommend. Being an interior designer there was potential for competing ideas but ours was a very successful collaborative process. We run our family owned construction company in Sydney and were first introduced to Josh, at Whittle Architects, in 2015 by clients of ours. The design was great, the plans so easy to work off and having Josh’s expertise with all thing’s council, the build went as smoothly as possible. We have worked with Josh on numerous other projects since then with great success and happy clients being the end result.
Being in the construction industry we are rather particular when it comes to the trades/professions we choose to work with so when we decided to start plans for renovating and extending our own home, there was no question as to which architect would get the job. Josh was not only attentive to our ideas and needs, he created something beyond our expectations. His expertise and professionalism are something that is very rare to find, and we feel extremely lucky to have had Josh work with us on something that is so personal for our little family. Josh was referred to us by a friend when we were planning to build our house in 2018. He worked tirelessly to help us design our first home. Josh was creative, flexible and accomodating to all of our needs and we could not be happier with his service. Our house is being built at the moment and everything is coming together as planned. It is a small block of land on a slope but Josh's creativity has delivered exceptional results. We live in a suburb protected by a Heritage Conservation Order but despite this, Josh was able to provide us with a finished product that well exceeded our expectations. He was able to tastefully combine heritage with modern design and has created the most amazing contemporary space for us to raise our small family.

Josh was able to design unique elements that we had not even thought of and was always willing to share his experience and expertise. He worked effortlessly with our builder and was always available to meet on site when the need arose.

I could not recommend Whittle Architects more! I am now in the process of looking for my next renovating adventure and Whittle is the only architect that I will use!

We worked with Josh on the redesign of our lovely, but in need of love, home. We were not the easiest of clients - working in the creative industry ourselves makes us very picky people with too many ideas! He approached the challenge with professionalism and optimism - nothing was too hard to figure out and his eternal patience is astounding. The designs and visuals that he produced for us were of the highest standard and perfectly represented the vision we (finally!) expressed to him. We haven't been able to get started on the work yet, but can't wait to see our dream become a reality.

Whittle designed and helped to drive the extensive renovations to our terrace house a couple of years ago. I loved working with them and would highly recommend the company to anyone looking for a creative, stylish, diligent, and honest team. They were always willing to come to site (even at short notice) and to offer quick changes if the scope of the project changed unexpectedly, as it inevitably does. They also know the nuances of local council regulations and idiosyncrasies, which is extremely helpful in moving the approval process ahead.
