West Head Lookout reviews
68My favourite view! Photos don't justify how beautiful this view is! Must see if you're in Sydney!
Incredible views of the coast, easy walking tracks, toilets on site, heading down to the beaches is a challenge. Awesome place to cycle
Fantastic and amazing place to just sit and enjoy. You can go all the way down the stairs to enjoy the beach and swim in the beautiful and clean water, highly recommended, lots of parking available but you need to pay eight dollars for it, just go and enjoy
Loved the view. Picture perfect. Costing $4.40 per person to get into the NP plus parking fee. Lots of bicycles on the roads.
It was lovely to see other beaches from here along the coast line but especially from a distance seeing Palm Beach and Barrenjoey Lighthouse
Overwhelmingly beautiful. Two small beaches a short but steep hike away. Awesome views of the Central Coast and Palm Beach.
A historic lookout, has its stories linked with WWII. Can see a very beautiful view of Palm Beach too. Has many hiking tracks which lead downward to snorkeling too. Need a whole day to explore around.
Now you need to pay $12 to reach this place and it has so many unwanted things which spoil the view: (otherwise we have been loving this place ao much since years ago. They started to charge since july 2021 if not mistaken.
Undergoing done restoration when visited but didn't take away from the amazing view across to Palm Beach and surrounds
Amaging view of the Plam Islands and Pacific Ocean with informations about history of the place.
As of October 2021 there’s temporary fencing up as the lookout is under some sort of renovation, but the views themselves are unaffected. Starting point for trails to West Head Beach, Resolute Beach and Great Mackerel Beach are easy to access towards the right of the lookout. Very small car park located here. Closest public bathrooms are 800m down the road - you pass it driving to and from the lookout.
Easy access, beautiful view. Family of magpies very keen on anything you are eating. Brush turkeys wandering around.
We reached this spot while going to mackerel beach but there was 40 min walking to reach the beach, so we chose this place
Place offers amazing view of broken bay coupled with barrenjoey lighthouse located on palm beach.
Plus west head beach is a soothing place to spend your day. Only thing is the stairs to reach down to the beach will kill you while coming back. But it’s worth to go to the beach and enjoy the sunlight. Got few parking spots nearby as well
The drive or ride is worth the time if you are keen for a awesome view of the head.
Beware of early morning weekend cyclist's, some of them just think about themselves.
Beautiful views. Disappointed about the fencing there to spoil picture. I get its a safety issue hope they sort it out sooner rather than later
Beautiful lookout, nice facilities.great walk to the old military bunkers.bit hard on the legs but well worth it.
A neat lookout view towards palm beach. Easily accessible and about a minute walk from the parking. There is about an hour track that leads downhill which I would rate as moderate to hard due to the steepness and having to climb down a ladder. You get slightly better views and see the interesting world war 2 sites. I’ve included photos for your reference. All in all make sure the weather’s good before you go and you’ll have a relaxing day there (if you skip the hike). The daily parking fee is $12.
Check the park times and look out for the parking meters. The views over the waters are stunning especially at Sun set.
Without sun you can’t enjoy its true beauty! Picturesque scenery! Wonderful place for family outing.
