Wentworth Park reviews
31 The event really does require better food options. Plenty of free hats and stubby holders on the event nights.
Having better crowd control with the organisation who are running security on the night of events would help, instead of being asked by 5 people in the distance of 50 steps if I have a ticket, gets annoying.
Besides all of that the place is great.
A very wide park situated in the inner city with a great view, especially in the afternoon. The train bridge itself provides shelter to the homeless.
Dog friendly park unless you are a racing greyhound. Then you are forced to race here every Saturday. Animal abuse.
Awesome park for family and sports with decent side street parking. The only downside is mosquito's at night time and finding random unsanitary objects around the grounds when I was there.
I LOVE IT
so much calm and fun things to do but there is a problem there are millions of seagulls but they cant fix that:)
Overall: Great large park, full of ovals and really nice bridge that passes through the middle which makes it rather unique. Think less gorgeous pathways with gorgeous grounds and more large ovals, ideal for sports, exercise, picnics and dog walking. There are some gorgeous large trees that go along much of the border of this area.
Accessibility: Lots of on street parking available. Wheelchair access to most of it. Bathrooms also available on site. Grounds are well maintained.
Small note: There are a few homeless dwellings which are very neat and well maintained. Those there seem to be lovely people and summer play gorgeous music. It adds to the community spirit and simplicity of being.
Location: It's also minutes away from the large Broadway Shopping Centre and City centre.
Mad old park. All the old Glebe bloke's used to get there any time of the day and have a massive game of touch. Good memories that of a very young kid surrounded by gangsters thieves knock about people.
Enjoy the many sport fields and picnic areas with lots of seating and water bubblers available. There's also a shaded playground and fitness stations to help keep active.
Wentworth Park is a wonderful place in Sydney’s Inner West, where families, pet-lovers and sport enthusiasts feel at home.
Nice park for all to enjoy, with the exercise equipment popular with the gym folk. Nice place to enjoy a sit on ground as overflow from fish markets take away, when pandemic restrictions are not there.
Park is huge crossed between three Suburbs.
Glebe, Pyrmont and Ultimo.
North side is Wattle St, to the east is William Henry.
South side is Wentworth Park road and to the west is Pyrmont bridge Rd.
Wentworth Park Greyhounds is located in the centre of the park.
To the west side the tram line runs through from the south of Glebe to north of Pyrmont.
To the north-east of the park,
Fort street Public School is temporarily located on the park due to the renovations and upgrade to the school.
It would be convenient if the
amenities were available on both sides.
Great park, off leash when there's no sports games on. Wish people would throw their trash in the bin instead of on the ground, be careful of food scraps from the fish market if your dog is off leash
Named a Dog after this park and Wentworth has always been such an elegant name just rolled off the tongue
Upgraded floor around okay ground which is great. But they should of upgraded with new play equipment as well. But not bad for a quick stop with the kids
Walking distance from Wentworth park light rail station. Wish that the grass was better maintained, it's a bit long and hard to run on. There is very limited paid street parking, and I would recommend taking public transport via light rail, or walking from Town hall train station.
Wentworrh park is a park that people walk by around its sides. Sport is played in one side of the park like soccer. Cricket net practice happens in a small section of it. On the Wattle street side, there are exercise machines that many use. Under the bridge of the slow train, you'll find some homeless people have set their camp. One extreme wedge of it going down to the water's edge is the race track for dogs. I believe this operates on 2 days per week, Tuesdays and Saturdays I think. Other than that, nothing outstanding happens there.
Interesting park, home to a few homeless folk that live under the light rail bridge but they won't bother you.
Great place to bird spotting as well with a camera and swallows will practically dance around you if you stand still.
But the biggest attraction is the grey hound teaching track which is open every Saturday.
Make sure you bring a camera with you.
Great public park with 3 different areas to do some outdoor workouts. There is pull up bars, dip bars and a whole range of other exercises that can easily be done. Especially during the pandemic there are a lot of people doing their outside exercise here. If you want to be alien, come early or late.
Important open space; grassy with some big trees. Old-fashioned greyhound racing here, it's sole benefit being protection of an open space.
Nice and big middle in the city near to broadway, darling harbor, there is always plenty of activity. Children from near by school playing around and good for having a run ️ around the park, still missing some facilities
