Washpool National Park reviews
8Love our stay here awesome place even in - temperatures Caretakers are supa friendly coming back more often
If you like the Aussie bush this is a place 4 you. Accessible and many walks of varying degrees of difficulty.
We thoroughly enjoyed walking the shorter tracks, stopping along the way to listen to the rainforest noises and birds.
We were even lucky enough to see three superb lyrebirds (two male, and one seemingly elusive female-by the walkers camp ground)
We did walk the camp grounds and the facilities seem great! There was wood provided for fires, free BBQ, toilet and plenty of picnic tables. And with fees being cheap, it’s worth a day visit or a few nights camping.
A great National Park for all the family. Beautiful waterfalls and nature at it's best. Do yourself a favour and visit this beautiful part of Australia.
Absolutely stunning. We stayed at 4 Bull Hut which was perfect. The trails were beautiful. The only negative would be the signage and maps.
We were on horses and stopped many times to figure out where we were. We didn't get to see a part of the park because we became confused as to which direction to go.
This adventure will take you inland, just over the edge of the Great Escarpment to UNESCO-listed rainforest in a world of deep gorges and clear, murmuring streams.
Washpool National Park is within the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area.
This comprises the largest areas of subtropical rainforest on the planet, as well as much of the world’s surviving beech cool temperature rainforest and huge tracts of warm temperature rainforest.
Here you’ll encounter an extraordinary environment for hiking, among the ancient and primitive plants and animal species from which life on Earth evolved.
Explore this primeval world on the half-day Washpool walk or lace up your boots for the 45-kilometre World Heritage walk, linking this park with the Gibraltar Range to the south.
Beautiful place stunning walk.
However still major fire damage to walking tracks preventing people from walking far.
I had an absolutely INCREDIBLE encounter with a superb lyrebird this weekend at #WashpoolNationalPark. OMG i felt so unbelievably blessed to be in his presence for as long as I did and as close as I did. He didn't even care that I was there as he scratched away at the leaf litter. And he stayed at our campsite (Coombadjha) the whole time we were there. What an absolute privilege to be in the presence of nature at it finest. And yes we did get to hear his amazing song! I identified at least 6 species in his calls. AMAZING <3
