Would not recommend this company for any project but specifically a warning to residential builders or owner builders. You’ll spend much more than you need to.

After initial fee for drawings, we were charged for revision of a small detail which was in reality not possible to build as they had suggested. In addition to this they also charged us hundreds of dollars for “research” time when we requested the words “Driveway to be constructed to relevant standards” be added to the drawings at the request of our certifier

They charge for each inspection/ site visit which is expected, but then request an additional $150 to send you a certificate.

In the end we found a new engineer part way through the build who was able to reduce our build cost by not over engineering, and who didn’t put his hand out for every phone call.

As a small scale residential designer I have used Vision to provide the structural drawings for several of my recent projects and can attest to their professionalism.

Their communication between client, builder and designer is some of the best I have experienced and is often the reason why I have refereed Vision to clients, builders or other friends in the industry.

The Structural drawings they provide are extremely detailed which is very reassuring for all parties involved in a building project.

I have worked with Geoff Ball and his team at Vision Structures for five or so years on numerous projects. The service they provide is quite different to other engineering firms I have dealt with. Their attention to detail, support as well as their expansive knowledge is truly one of a kind.

They do not only understand engineering they actually understand how a building goes together which saves time, money and headaches. Everything is planned to achieve the best outcome possible.

Having dealt with quite a number of engineers over the years I would not choose any other firm to assist me with my personal projects or my Business as a licensed Builder. I engaged Vision Structures for some personal engineering work as they were recommended to me by a friend. I cannot praise Geoff, Emanuel and the team for all their help and advise. Since this time I recommend Vision Structures to my clients as they quote and include everything my clients need for their projects and don't just give out a cheap quote to get the job and add fees as the work progresses. I would recommend the wealth of knowledge and dedication Geoff and his Team provide to anyone needing engineering work done properly and on time.

I have to warn private residential owners here. I employed this business for my own private build & my experience was terrible. I asked for a quote to start the process before I decided IF i wanted to hire them. They sent out a representative who told me I couldn't do what I wanted & who took it upon himself to do as he wanted. After several attempts to get a quote, I was ignored, I was not shown a contract or given any advice on their fees. This company went ahead & provided me with engineering drawings i did NOT ask for at a price that was horrific! I was double charged for several items on my manifest & this bill was double what other companies were charging. In the end I chose a different company who listened to me, did as I asked & the final bill was much more respectable. My own research suggested that Vision Structures is used to large corporate companies not private residential owners. This company charges through the teeth & does not listen to the customer. I will never use this company again.
