Victoria Falls walking track reviews
8Great walk down to the water falls, definitely not for those who aren’t just a little bit fit! Once down at the falls, the swimming is cold but refreshing and worth doing once you start your journey back up the steep incline. Took us about 3hrs steady walk down and up. Some might be able to do it in shorter time but definitely need the 3hrs to go for a swim!
Great walk with beautiful scenery. Hard thing about the walk though is the big hill to get down and up
Nach 5 KM vom Highway erreicht man den Victoria Falls Walking Trail. Vom Ausgangspunkt hat man eine tolle Aussicht in die Blue Mountain. Die Fußwege sind trittsicher und gut zu laufen.
I must warn anyone who comes here DO NOT BRING KIDS! It is incredibly hard to keep up the pace, the walk is a minimum of 1 hr 15 min on the way down and almost 2 hrs coming back up.
You can burn easily and their are thousands of steps. The track is quite slippery and dangerous for both adults and kids.
I admit the waterfall at the end is lovely but do not underestimate how long it takes to get their and back. Also you will need snacks, lots of water, a hat, sunnys, sunscreen and good walking shoes.
Keep in mind that depending when you go it could be filled with lots of other people and could be crowded, the water is also very ice cold.
After 5 km from the highway you reach the Victoria Falls Walking Trail. From the starting point you have a great view of the Blue Mountain. The footpaths are sure-footed and easy to walk on.
One awesome place it’s a grade 4 trek for about 40 min to see the cascading waterfalls.
A cold plunge even in hot weather.
But worth the view
This walking track was intimidating from the very beginning. Steep and narrow walkways and huge declines into the forest, but probably one of the most beautiful waterfalls/swimming holes I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t recommend this walk to beginner hikers, but if you’re looking for a challenge, this is the place to find one, and the reward makes it worth it.
