Purchased a Velux FCM 1430 (Flat roof fixed skylight) for $230. This skylight does not come with a flashing kit, something completely omitted upon purchase. Velux does not supply a flashing kit for this model and it has to be custom made by a metal supplier. The YouTube installation video posted by Velux also omits this information and is missing 5 steps in the installation process involving installation underlayment and waterproofing. The flashing kit issue applies to FCM Skylights from 1430 through to 4646. The $230 skylight very quickly turned into a $1,500 skylight, thanks Velux.

We had a Velux skylight installed by Chad from Northern Rivers Skylights. Chad was very helpful, professional, and very down to earth guy. We are over the moon with our Velux skylight. He has transformed out kitchen from dark and dull to wow. We are very happy to recommend Chad at Northern Rivers Skylights.

Friendly, knowledgeable technical support that solved my problem.

I have just finished resetting my skylight and new control after discussing the issue with technical support.

The problem is solved and I am extremely happy.

Both myself and my wife experienced happy
people who talked with a smile in their voice and took the time to ensure we understood their instructions. These were then followed up with emails with diagrams as promised.

Very easy to give 5 stars.

Delivery trucks daily block the footpath illegally. Manager refuses to do anything about it despite the truck still being able to unload by just moving forward a metre.

We had 2 Velux electric skylights and blinds professionally installed more than 4 years ago. They have worked perfectly but recently one of 2 controllers stopped functioning. We sent it to Velux Head Office in Sydney where the unit was repaired free of charge (including postage) despite being out of warranty. There was also phone and email technical support to set up the unit and pair it with the functioning second unit. Head Office support for Velux products was simply outstanding.

Has a good show room although it is presently closed due to covid virus concerns. (october, 2020) Staff were very helpful answering inquiries regarding their products.

I contacted Velux seeking technical advice on my solar blind that had stopped working, and had the pleasure dealing with Bianca from Velux technical support team. Bianca is highly professional, provided excellent customer service, attention to detail and always responded to my questions promptly.

I highly recommend Velux skylight for the professional and excellent after sales support that is important.

Buyer Beware the (now) stunningly obvious highly noteworthy easily mitigated (but they bloody don’t of course) design flaw that allows water down over the bull nose only to trickle between parts of the construction down the inside wall and into the house. Yes the 4 Velux manual opening sky windows were installed to code/spec by an approved installer approx 6months ago. No it wasn’t a pissing storm. A moderate dew was enough. Do your research. Go elsewhere even. There are other options out there.

Warehousing missed my order, called up to have them overnight express my order, nope they will send it road, that's it. Don't take responsibility for their mistakes. Looks like a good product though!

Called to get advice on replacing hail damaged (non-Velux) skylights with Velux units. The woman who answered the phone just didn't want to know. Didn't listen, simply not interested. Unpleasant and really quite feral! So I said thanks for your time, hung up and went to a Velux competitor. My neighbour who also had hail-damaged skylights and wanted to replace them with Velux had a similar experience. Just a horrible experience with Velux. Why do companies hire front-line staff of this nature? Strongly don't recommend.
