Urban Salsa

Fantastic classes to both learn and improve in a variety of Latin dance styles. I have thoroughly enjoyed the classes I have had over the last year and look forward to many more!

I started salsa classes early 2023 after attending a dance night at Urban Salsa. Raymund is an excellent teacher.he breaks down the steps and really focuses on technique. Ray has a relaxed, fun nature which makes the classes enjoyable. Another huge bonus is that higher level dance students are encouraged to attend beginners and lower level classes. This gives such a wealth of dance experience to students, which helps to improve your dancing much quicker.
My only issue with Urban Salsa is that it is an 82km round trip from home, which is another reflection on how good the classes are. Ray, a big "Thank You" for bringing quality teaching of Latin dance to the west. Jess

As a novice to the salsa scene, Ray has been a great teacher who is patient and works well with students to ensure that nobody is left behind in the progression of the class. Fellow students are social and the overall atmosphere and experience is fun which is exactly what I was after.

Honestly one of the best decisions I made coming out of lockdown was signing up to both salsa and bachata classes at Urban Salsa. Both Ray and Celine are amazing teachers! They break down the steps in such a clear way which really helps you learn the steps and perfect the technique! Learning at Urban Salsa has really helped me gain confidence on the social dancing scene! Such a great studio and an excellent environment! Everyone is so friendly and I always look forward to class! Glad to be a part of the Urban Salsa crew!

Urban Salsa is not just a Latin dance studio but a community in its own right and home to many salseros and Salseras. Learning dancing can be an intimidating process. At Urban Salsa, you become a part of the community that loves Salsa dancing and lets you grow and have fun at your own pace.

Raymond is easily one of the best teachers when it comes to Salsa and fundamentals. He sets you up for long term success helping you develop your own style with a solid technique.

I have been here for 1 term so far, and have been having so much fun! Classes are great and well run, with such a positive vibe amongst everyone. I have already booked for next term, and I look forward to coming here for a long time to come!

A fantastic school with a big dedicated space and a great atmosphere. Ray (salsa teacher) and Celine (bachata teacher) are both really approachable and clearly committed to their students. The courses are great value for money and carefully structured to ensure that new dancers can progress with confidence from beginners to level 2/3/4, which are both things I’ve found lacking in other schools. If you’ve never done salsa/bachata before this is an ideal place to learn (and the parties go off). Couldn’t recommend more highly

You're learning from the best when you're dancing at Urban Salsa! Ray is a natural teacher, he takes the time to show you the step slowly and carefully and gives you plenty of opportunity to practice until you've perfected it. He'll even throw in some jokes to keep you laughing through the entire class. 5 stars!

Ray is an excellent teacher and makes the classes super fun:) Great environment to learn. The people are also lovely and always encouraging. I even got my partner who wasn't interested in dance to tag along and he enjoyed it. I totally recommend!

BEST part of my experience in Sydney. I developed a new skill and met my closest friends in the city. Urban Salsa was my home away from home for the duration of the 2 years I lived in Australia. More than a dance school, Urban Salsa is truly a family.
Ray teaches by passion, desire to see his students grow and feel comfortable on the dance floor. He takes time to ensure you get the technics, will explain and re-explain as much as you need - until you nail it!:) Besides the dancing skills, Ray creates a friendly environment where all are welcome and where judgment does not exist, regardless of your level. Ray's love for dancing is contagious.
I would recommend to anyone looking to learn or grow their dancing skills. If you are in the West, this is your school! If you are elsewhere in Sydney, it's definitely worth the trip.

My choice and recommendation of premium Latin dance school in Western Sydney. Offers well structured courses for all levels, fun and relaxed atmosphere. Head Instructor's passion to teach is shown in his every dance move, which creates a "I want to DANCE like that" experience.

I have been attending classes here for a few months and I am so surprised at how much I have learned. Ray is a great teacher who makes class fun and everyone feel comfortable.
The studio has such a welcoming vibe and the other students make you feel included right away.
The prices are also very reasonable.
