Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake reviews
97Uncle Tetsu's is a fine Japanese cheesecake restaurant. Their signature cheesecake tarts are so gooey and velvety with pastry surrounding that is to die for - really, really good pastry. The cheesecake flavour itself is subtle yet nice and umami and overall very delicious and balanced. I only ever come here for the tarts because they are the best product. The shop atmosphere itself can feel a bit rushed at times, with busy CBD travellers passing by in droves. Service is very quick, and prices are very reasonable. 31/12/23
The line at Uncle Tetsu's is longer than my Netflix queue, but trust me, it's worth it. It's like waiting for a cheesecake rock concert, and when you finally get your slice, it's like the encore of deliciousness.
I went here a while ago to get the viral cream brûlée crepe and I had to wait 50 minutes for the crepe I liked it but it was to filling for me and would not get again but it was fun to try
This place is heaven. We've tried everything and our favourite desserts are: the cheesecake (so soft and fluffy), the cheese tart (flavour is so rich and fresh), the honey madeleines (so fluffy!). This place never disappoints - only when you sell out: (
It is as delicious as seven years ago. It is soft like a puff and feels a bit like foam. It melts when it reaches your mouth~ But if you eat too much, you will get greasy. Drink water. I will buy two next time
Sunday dates call for a dessert while walking… decided to try their crepe onigiri! In both mango and berry
the mango was good enuf to let your man-go! The crepe texture was soft and chewy and the filling reminded us of a mango pancake at yum cha! Yummy whipped cream and mango. DELISH
the berry was also just as good and tasted very fresh! Service was quick and they came at $5.50 each.minus a star because it was a bit pricey for what it is.quite small, however very tasty

Arguably, the most famous Japanese cheesecake in Sydney CBD and probably the most consistent in terms of quality, texture and taste. Crisp on the outside and super creamy on the inside. If you get a chance, you’d better check them out.
I love Uncle Tetsu
This dessert shop never disappoints me.
I had their crepe brulee
It was so yummy and popular
I waited in line for 1/2 hour, and it's worth it
The service was so friendly and patient. It was busy, and they were so professional.
Their japanese cheese cakes and cheese tarts are delicious
I’ve been loving their cheesecakes for a very long time but the latest crème brûlée cones? Simply amazing!
Came here to try the cheese tart. Got a pack of 6. Disappointed about the undercooked matcha tart with liquid filling. Spilled everywhere when I tried to eat it.
Absolutely overrated cheesecake shop. The original cheesecake tasted just average and not worth the hype or the long standing queue. I have had cheese cake from other places which seemed way better than this.
Disappointing.
The lady at the cashier was giving me attitude, I could hear her “tsk” lol. Probably just because I made an order from one cheesecake combo to two. I was the only person in the store I don’t know why she was rushing me. The original cheesecake and tarts were amazing but that experience with the worker, not so.
Lady staff was so rude, make face and eyes, when I have asked question about the sweet. I went on 10/12/22 at 6.40pm.
She should answer nicely and SHOULD NOT make face, eyes and answer me with bad tone.
So disappointed!
We are regular customers and love the OG cheesecake. Took this one home and wasn't pleased when I opened it. The cake was undercooked. The store gave another cake which was cooked properly.
Small authentic Japanese cheesecake store with plenty of character. I got a basic chocolate cheesecake to share with a friend which was definitely on the expensive side. Had to wait in a small line to enter the store, but got to watch employees make food through the glass storefront. Our order was quickly fulfilled and we were in and out within 10 minutes. Highly recommend giving this place a try atleast once, as the cheesecake was truly amazing.
After travelling Asia, I developed a love of cheese tarts but struggled to find a good one in Australia (sorry Hokkaido). Uncle Tetsu pastry was a little thick, but otherwise very enjoyable. A long line, but fast and efficient. Card payment only.
Cheese cake overrated. Bought two original where I was expecting to be fluffy, but it's too dense and both different taste, there's no consistency.
Extremely smooth and silky cheesecake. The original is amazing and the matcha is good too, but could use more matcha flavour imo.
Heaven in my mouth. Got the classic cheesecake, classic cheese tart, and chocolate tart. The classic cheese tart is freaking amazing, I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever had. The chocolate was also great. The cheesecake was okay, but I definitely thought it would blow my mind more, it taste like a German cheesecake, just without the crumble on the bottom.
I don’t recommend the “large cheesecake”. My goodness $22 for what was basically a small sponge cake, no pastry base, the size of a side plate. Very disappointed as I was led to believe this was a larger version of the small cheese tarts they have there (which are wonderful) but which were sold out.
