My trainer Tom Cocker has been fantastic and supported every step of the way. He pushes me hard when we train to bring out the best in me and i really enjoy the challenge. He checkes with me regularly to see how im going and how im going with my diet. He, s taught me how to train properly. I couldn, t have achieved the results i have so far on my journey with Tom by my side

Where have you been all my life?

I've hated the gym for my whole life - but I have tried. I love cardio - running, cycling and swimming. But as I've got older, I have spent more time injured than enjoying my sport

My wife found Ultimate Performance and immediately I know this was no ordinary gym. For the first time I am loving gym. The ultimate program is an integrated nutrition, weight and lifestyle programme - that really works.

After only 6 weeks I can see an incredible difference in how I feel, look and live.

I am actually finding myself looking forward to workouts. My strength has improved and I can run and cycle injury free - after such a short time. How fantastic.

Highly recommended.

UP Sydney is highly recommended if you thrive on transformation. The training program that my trainer Daniel puts together is highly effective and sustainable. Daniel helps me to achieve massive changes in physique through his solid training, dietary and recovery plan. In addition, the training program helps me to build strength not only physically, but also mentally. Overall, a fantastic experience and an amazing trainer.

Upon reflection, I feel the need to write a poor review due to a number of factors which include an injury I sustained, incorrect calorie counting on the program and value for money. I signed up for the 12 week program approx 4 years ago.

1. Injury: After circa 5-6 weeks I sustained a serious shoulder injury which was bursitis. I had to get a cortisone injection and it was a slow recovery from there. The doctor said it was extremely inflamed on the ultrasound. I spent thousands on rehab for it, and the shoulder has never been the same again. I’ve always been conscious about it. I’d never had a shoulder injury, or any injury in my life. I’d been lifting weights for years and much more than I was lifting in those 5-6 weeks at UP. It was either due to warm ups before sessions being little to nothing, even after raising I was told few reps of light weights was enough or poor form which should’ve been corrected by the PT. I strictly did 3 sessions with the PT and didn’t go to the gym on my accord. I know you sign a waiver but after lifting for many years I had absolutely no injury and it has impacted me for years to come.
2. Calories incorrectly calculated: I did see results and did shed 3kg in 5 weeks. I weighed 72kg so I wasn’t fat, I wanted to build muscle. The calories changed week to week but the program indicated it was between 2100-3000 calories a day depending on workout days. Issue was the carbs were calculated wrong. 100g of sweet potato said it was 41g of carbs, but in actual fact it’s 20g. I only lost fat quickly down to 11% body fat l because I was eating between 1400-1800 calories. I was always so hungry.
3. Macros: Protein in grams was 190g on workout days, and 260g on off days, which upon reflection and research is ridiculously high. Medical research and evidence states the optimum amount for maximising lean muscle is between 1.2g - 1.6g/kg of body weight. Any more than 1.6g/kg is pointless and the benefits are marginal and plateau. I weighed 72kg at the time, it should’ve been an upper range up to 115g.
4. Value for money: A PT session costs $150 for off peak time, on peak times were $180 per session. I was spending between $450-$500 per week. That’s a lot of money to pay to have received an injury, and calorie counting was way off. When I think about it, although it’s a short term plan to educate and see results but it is an absurd price to pay. At the time, it was an insignificant portion of my income approx 15% which isn’t enough to make an impact to the pocket but it’s still a lot of money for 3x 40min sessions. I was okay to spend it but upon reflection it’s a lot regardless if I got an injury or not.
5. No flavour in the meal plans: It was plain. For meat it was either chicken, fish, beef. Carbs was sweet potato and white rice, almonds and broccoli. No suggestions around any flavour or even sample meal plans. I used masterfoods spices to ensure I stuck to the calories but it was very boring. For the price I paid, they could’ve provided me with sample meals with different flavours instead of just basic foods with nothing else. When I had the initial consultation the lady said that I’d be given recipes and ideas so all meals are packed with flavour. I never received any of this.
6. Salaries of PTs: I spoke to a number of PTs at the time, and I expected them to be getting paid much more. I understand it’s a global brand, has to make profit and the location would’ve been expensive to rent but a number of PTs indicated they were getting paid around $60,000pa. This is just above minimum wage by a couple $100 per week. For what they charge you’d expect more.

Although my money for the remainder of weeks was refunded, and I did visibly see results I wouldn’t recommend it. Anyone on a consistent calorie deficit, that sticks to a plan and works out 3 times a week will achieve it. A PT does motivate you to workout during the time for those sessions but I believe a cheaper one would’ve easily yielded the same results. Facility and equipment was top notch, but that’s what you’d expect for the price you pay.

Joining Ultimate Performance Sydney has been life changing! I’ve always really struggled to pull together the combination of diet, exercise and discipline. With every new program I am developing and getting better at every aspect of training, diet and mental health. My trainer Zach is extremely supportive, knowledgeable and completely dedicated to my transformation.

All aspects from diet, hydration, sleep and body awareness are part of the journey and totally invaluable as you navigate your transformation.

Zach has helped me overcome injury to achieve my goals in record time. My confidence is up, as is my ability to train harder and push harder than ever before.

I would like to thank Maria who is currently my personal trainer! She is extremely supportive and always makes sure that I’m on track with my daily progress. Maria is dedicated and goes out of her way to push me to do my best, as well as supporting me with my meal preps and daily exercises.

After going to UP performance, I have achieved both my fitness goals, as well as building strength. The team has helped me learn about nutrition and what I should be eating every day - which plays a massive part in weight loss. If you are looking for a personal trainer, I highly recommend UP performance, the team is just exceptional. They have helped motivate me, and I’m sure they would help you reach your goals.

I have so far completed 8 of my 12 week program at UP Sydney and feel with the help of my trainer Maria, I am achieving all my goals that I wanted with UP. I have improved mobility, have lost 4 kilos, improved my eating habits and improved my general fitness. For anyone wanting to get on track with their fitness and general health I fully recommend UP. UP is not only about training its life changing. Not only do you actually see the weight loss/toning results but you will achieve an increase in energy, endurance and overall strength. Yes it is a premium price but its worth it all in the end. I highly recommend Maria as a trainer. Her knowledge, understanding, positivity and determination to assist you in meeting your goals is unmatched compared to other personal trainers.

So stocked I joined this gym working with Elisabet. After surgery a few years back, I struggled to stay consistent in the gym. I was always injury prone and left feeling unmotivated. I’m finally back exercising regularly and lifting even more than I was before. You won’t get trainers like this anywhere else! So thankful to U. P.for giving me my life back.

I’ve been training with UP for 7 months, originally signing up only for 12 weeks with the aim of getting started with training with weights and building lean muscle for improved appearance and health as I’m approaching 50. It’s definitely requires a mental and not just physical and time commitment, but it’s a worthwhile investment if you value your health.

It’s personal training that’s very meticulous and very tailored to your specific goals and needs. It’s focused not just on the physical training, but nutrition, stress management, sleep, supplementation to optimize your performance and health.

Elisabet my coach has been an absolute pleasure to train with. She brings great energy to kick start your workout and also motivating you, as well as keeping track on your progress towards your goals. She’s very meticulous and thorough explaining proper technique and ensuring you make the most of your workouts, factoring any injury or weak areas you may have.

She also provides good educational tips and material regularly and helps tweak your program according to any challenges you may have eg tight schedules, meal prep etc.

I can see the physical difference and friends and my partner have also complimented me on how well/ good I look.

It does require the client’s own hard work and commitment, but UP does provide the training, equipping and support you need.

I joined ultimate performance to transform my physique and my lifestyle for the better. I am approaching the end of my training sessions feeling the best I have ever felt in my life. This is a life changing experience that is accessible to absolutely everyone! My coach and the whole team at UP are extremely supportive of my goals and have worked very hard with great attention to detail to help me achieve them. I have some pre-existing injuries which have held me back in the past but thanks to the careful workout programming my chronic knee injury is not impacting my training at all for the first time ever.
My coach Meg is extremely hard working and has been a constant companion throughout my journey, she is very patient, knowledgable and great fun to workout with. Meg has given me the skills and confidence to feel like I have the control over my physique for the long term.
I would highly recommend UP to anyone, the environment is welcoming and in my opinion, this is the only gym I have found that can take ordinary people of any age and previous experience and help them to achieve real and long lasting transformative habits.

I’ve been training with UP for about 2 months now and lost close to 10kg. My PT John is professional, knowledgeable and takes his job very seriously. Excellent support and constantly in contact to help me achieve my goals. The complete package including the UP app, food tracking and training I can’t give any less than 5 stars. The training environment is also excellent. All shapes and sizes and feels comfortable with no judging.

Well worth the investment.

I came to UP as I wanted to drive a step change in my health, develop lasting habits and raise my overall fitness to maintain my mental health in a period of turmoil in my life. I must say they didn’t disappoint. The level of focus not just on your training but also your nutrition, food choices and overall exercise both in and out of the gym is like nothing I have seen. In addition, having Heath in my corner as my trainer helped me to not only transform my body but also develop a lot of healthy habits.

I’m a highly analytical person with a thirst for knowledge and Heath would take me through all the technical detail and science behind food choices and movement. This helped me make better choices and sustained change.

The trainers at UP really care about their clients and it’s got a really community feel to it with many of the trainers knowing you by name not just your trainer.

I highly recommend the UP process, if you’re serious about your health, make the investment you won’t be disappointed. And if you’re lucky enough to get Heath as your personal trainer you’ll definitely be taking things to the next level.

I recently completed my weight loss journey for 12 weeks at this gym.
Maria and Liz were very helpful and encouraging to push the extra mile in completing my journey.
The trainers in this gym are very friendly and knowledgeable about not only training but also nutrition. I am very happy with the result and had a life-changing experience after completing my journey. I highly recommend anybody who wants to change their life in terms of fitness.

struggle with motivation or just don't know where to
even start on your health journey, these guys will have
you covered. The support my trainer Dom provided
around training, food, preparing for social events or
even just checking in to see how my week was going
was world class! The trainers are professional, friendly
and honestly are top tier in their craft of helping people
build a healthy lifestyle. Their help is provided on all
fronts (food, fitness and life) which has overall changed
my life in ways I could have never thought possible
before I started.

The training, coaching and support that I have received from Jack Cameron and the UP Sydney team have been absolutely world class. I am satisfied with my results achieved and my life-changing transformation, none of which can be possible without their professionalism.

The UP programme is structured and effective and covers all aspects across goals, nutrition, training, etc. It also gives access to a convenient one-stop app that allows you to record everything that needs to be tracked and a channel to communicate with your trainer.

Jack is a legend – I have never come across a trainer like him before! He has such high level of positivity that rubs off me infectiously and is always excited for our trainings. This naturally motivated me to mirror the same level of energy and commitment.

Apart from having a wealth of knowledge on exercising/training, physiology, etc, which he shares during training, he also follows up closely with how I am feeling each day, gives me recommendations on what I can or possibly will like from grocery stores or where I can bring my friends for ‘healthy meals’ or how to cope with social gatherings, etc.

During trainings, he has demonstrated flexibility in adjusting programmes when the occasion arises. His cueing is clear and technical which allows me to push harder and elevate my performance to the next level. He also has gone the extra mile to accommodate my occasional requests for trainings at odd hours/days.

What I really liked about the UP Sydney team is that they are a bunch of friendly and warm people. The trainers (not just Jack) greet me by my name, and we cheer for each other (and other clients) during our sessions. Although we are running our programmes separately, there is however a sense of community/team spirit with everyone that I appreciate and makes me feel like I belong and I matter.

From a person who has been trained across many gyms worldwide, trust me when I say this is the place to be! The only regret I have - not starting earlier with Jack and UP Sydney!
