We had an amazing 3 nights at Turon Gates with every comfort the experience of staying in the bush was one to be remembered. We walked every day with our daughter and her German shepherd dog seeing the wonders of nature at its best. The owners of the site were extremely welcoming and helpful nothing was to much trouble. Thank you

We organised a camping trip with 8 other families and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The facilities were maintained well and the hot water never ran out despite showers going on almost all day! Lovely fishing spot - caught lots of rainbow trout, the kids enjoyed swimming and playing around the river. There's a lot of activities to do and the horses and other animals were such a delight to see.

The staff were amazing and helped us when we realized we forgot our key to the roof box! They gave us a spare tent which saved us a 3 hour drive. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we will definitely be back!

The cabin at Turon Gates was set on the edge of bush next to a creek had everything we need for a peaceful stay, only birdsong abd babbling brook. Loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the view, watching birds.
Perfect spot to unwind.
Highly recommended

Such an amazing place to escape the city, beautiful bush setting, gorgeous river to walk/swim and fish (in season), well equipped and cosy cabin, and you can bring your (well trained) dog! Can't wait to return in the warmer months for a different experience.

Second time here and will be back again with more family and friends. Stayed at the mountain cabins, they were clean and well equipped. Love the outdoor camp fires. Not forgetting the people who run this place is super friendly and helpful ensuring you have the best experience and stay!

You can't put a price on Turon Gates. We stayed in a River Cabin and so thankful it forced us to decompress. NoTV, wifi, mobile phone, mean't a force rest from our jobs. It was so nice to slow down and unwind amongst the most spectacular nature. Mountain goats, kangaroos, a beautiful running river, the sounds of birds. Kick back by the fire inside your cabin or around the fire pit. Beautiful walks, horse riding, canoeing. Let's not forget the possibility of spotting a platypus. Our greyhounds had the best time ever. If you want to get amongst nature, decompress you won't be disappointed. We can't wait go come back. Next time with our fishing rod and swimmers to swim in one of the most beautiful swimming holes. Thank you Turon Gates, Alex and family for opening your world to ours.

A beautiful 'switch off' holiday - with minimal phone reception it was so nice to relax and stare into the vistas along with the epic Milky Way at night (even saw a shooting star!). Our dog was safe on the balcony of Eagles Nest with an appropriate gate in place. Come well prepared with food as you will be in the middle of nowhere. We opted for the canoe hire which was great.

We had the most beautiful and magical stay at the campground at Turon Gates last weekend - such a beautiful property and so well maintained. We did the Devils climb walk and oh wow, my calves are still burning but it was SO beautiful. We'll be back!
P. S. It was SOOOOOO nice to be able to bring our dog and share the camping experience with him and other pets. SUCH a bonus!

Kangaroos, bushwalks, and red wine
Just spent a long weekend in a 4 bedroom cottage at Turon Gates. Simply smashing. Kangaroos, bushwalks, and red wine around the fire pit. Our family loves it and we try to go every year.

After reading a few bad reviews i was shocked to find the things a few bad eggs said. This place is unreal, you want a bush retreat only a few hours from Syney, this is your go to. Staff were great, room was clean and tidy, exactly what we paid for and expected.
It seems some city folk go here expecting a city hotel room with no horse poo in the paddocks, they are the ones that should stay on Geroge St Sydney instead.
10/10 for Mick and Alex. Will be returning soon enough with the family to soak up those spectacular views. Thank you guys

Pure Bliss!
Less then 3 hours’ drive from Sydney. Set amongst the most stunning natural bush scenery, this 600-acres creekside campground gives you the freedom to sprawl out and find your own secluded patch.always a new path and adventure to experience.
My favorite part is zero guilt trip for leaving my dog at home cause Turon is dog friendly, so bring your buddy along for the amazing experience. My boy is still resting after our trip.

We spent our days taking refreshing swims in the watering holes or explore unspoiled wilderness with a bush walks with our dogs, relaxing beside roaring campfire and woke up each morning to incredible valley views and gentle splashes from the nearby creek. The wild life is breathtaking Kangaroos, trouts, Wagtails, ducks, Crimson Rosella’s, Horses, free roaming goats (super cute) – total bliss.

Being in nature without the constant emails, messages and phone ringing really does give you a perspective of what life is really all about, so peaceful.

Despite a ton of campers (Australia day weekend) the Bathrooms and showers were really clean and super practical with the dish station with water. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. They gave us a map prior to our booking.

Highly recommend and already planning my next trip

Absolutely love turon gates to camp, and the cabins look amazing for an all weather & secluded option - will be trying next time! Our 2nd time camping here and just love the tranquility; the fact you can walk and explore a lot (rare on Australian sites) including an amazing lookout of the valley (widest canyon in the world!) ; horse riding on offer is an added bonus and so well run; facilities great and camp fires wonderful. No phone reception is bliss. Be mindful of a 15k unsealed road but no problems in our regular car either time.

Stayed in the camping grounds overlooking river south of gated camp site, admittedly we thought it was public land and not private property, the land owner came over and informed us it’s private property and we gladly went to the office the following day to pay the fees, now despite there’s zero amenities in this area, horse manure absolutely everywhere, had to clean site before setting up, we paid for 2 adults and 3 tiny puppies staying 2 nights - $178, or $130 without dogs, the former owner had prices that was much, much more responsible, despite being a regular visitor / camper (of the gated section) and the nice scenery I won’t be back, plenty of equally beautiful places far far cheaper. Didn’t seem to busy there like it always was with former owner, I guess those steep prices are speaking for themselves already. 2 stars as scenery was nice, that’s about it.

My partner and I visited in October and had an amazing time at Turon Gates. Weather was really good with beautiful sunsets apart from some light showers.

We stayed in the glamping tent for 3 nights - everything was super clean and cozy! It was a great escape from technology with plenty of bush trails and wildlife. Just remember to bring enough food!

Met Alex and a few other Turon staff who were very friendly and welcoming.

10/10 would come back again. Great views and you sleep like a baby at night.

Wonderful camping spot, remote, not too busy, camping right next to the river, no cell reception, hiking trails from the campground, clean amenities and pet friendly. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating also and the location seemed to attract a good crowd of other campers. You can grab wine, firewood and firelighters from the camp managers before 6pm which is handy and the wine sourced from a local vineyard was very high quality and well priced. Fabulous weekend great campground to just enjoy and not need to go anywhere. Thank you, I will most certainly be back!

We just spent an epic weekend here for my husband's 50th birthday. Thirty people, a mix of singles, couples and kids had the best time. The hosts were wonderful and the location was spectacular.
