4This was our first visit to the "Star" a great local pub I had the trout and wife had lasagne both were great meals and this pub features local wines a lot of our local eating places in Geelong maybe need to take notice 5 stars
Came in for a Sunday lunch, and was greeted with pleasant and prompt service. However, the meal ordered was underwhelming, and - despite asking for it to be cooked rare - it was served medium-well and charred. My partner’s pasta was clumped and a little dry, and not well seasoned. While the service is lovely and the atmosphere is overall pleasant, a pub lunch should not be so hard to get right - especially when there are so many options in town, real effort should be made to stand out.
Hoping to come back someday and be pleasantly surprised - but when that will be I can’t say.
Great food, beautiful fresh atmosphere and a great kids play area. Just what Tumut needed!
