Trilby Station reviews
32We stayed for 2 nights however, should have stayed for more. We booked the Jillaroo cottage and opted in for meals also. Now, I've made a lot of questionable decisions in my life, but opting for the meals was not one of those! Liz really brought the goods. My 12yr old cleared his plate each night & morning. There's plenty to do on the station as well as places close by to visit. I read the history of the place and it's really interesting! The hosts are wonderful and Liz is what I would call a business woman extrodinaire! My son loved the pool, walking and riding his bike around and I loved the serenity. The river comes alive at night with frogs and gecko's and we were lucky to not have any mozzies! Thank you Liz and the Murray family for providing accommodation options for people like me who wouldn't otherwise get to experience being on a station or even heading off the highway much to explore. We had a wonderful time. We hope to come back, next time with my Italian husband who I'm positive will love the experience just as much! Definitely recommend anyone in the area to make the effort to stay here.
Just a great place to unwind. Our host, Lis, was just a character and made you feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
We stayed in Mitch's Hut and it was simply excellent.
The only disappointment, was the idiots who don't know what 5km speed limit means - must be city drivers - I am sure Lis appreciated the dust over washing.
Make no bones about it, the roads are rough getting here and if you are camping, be self sufficient, but the reward is worth it. We did sunset drinks near the billabong and it was just a sight.
Not to be missed. Accommodation for all including amazing and lovely cottages and camp or caravan sites on the river or billabong. I cannot rave enough about Trilby Station and Liz, how incredible her life has been.
We stayed for 2 nights in a riverside spot in August and would definitely stay here again. The site was picturesque, private, easily accessible with a large van, great fire and private toilet with a view. The embankment is steep, but we carefully clambered down and caught a good number of Yabbies.
At the homestead are showers, toilets and washing machines. Everything is impeccably clean.
The mud map tour of the property and old homestead are worth the time.
Absolutely excellent, wonderful, clean, accomodation and well maintained camping sites also plenty of places to visit and to catch a yabbie or two. Hosts are very welcoming and nothing is a problem. We stayed in the Overseers Cottage and it was Perfect for us. Drinks around the fire pit were a pleasure to meet and great

Lovely save place with lots of camping room. Liz was very helpful and went above and beyond for us.
Loved our 4 night stay here, nothing disappointed us. Had a large site on the river’s edge with both sun and shade options. All amenities were in excellent condition and spotlessly clean. Mud Map drive around the farm was very interesting as was the farm tour at nearby Dunlop Station.
Thanks to Liz and Trilby Station team, we’ll definitely be back!
Wonderful stay in Mitch hut. Very tranquil, Liz brought over cheese platter while night sky watching. Brilliant highly recommended
Welcoming. Fantastic experience.
So helpful, great facilities. Just all round great people
Stayed at Trilby for 5 days.
Absolutely gorgeous camp sites. We had unpowered site right on the Darling River.
Sites are spacious and well spaced out, with towering River Gums in between. Total privacy.
The drop loos, spaced around the place, are very nice.no doors.so you sit and gaze at the wilderness.
The free canoes are brilliant. Casual paddles around the very large billabong. Waterbirds galore, including pelicans.
Hot showers and washing machines for coin. Good camp kitchen with all facilities.
Lots to do, including their Farm Tour. Drive around the property guided by a mud map.
It's an active sheep station, and you receive a 10 page booklet telling you all about the history and the fantastic, friendly hosts.
A real family friendly community.
A MUST stay if you're on the Darling Run.
Had a terrific stay here. Campsite was right on the river. Sites are well spread out and large. You feel like your here on your own. Fireplace had firewood ready to go. Shared toilet between two sites, a short walk away. Interesting buildings to visit on the station and you can go kayaking on the lake.
Great place to stay, shady riverside camping. Mud map tour very interesting, Dunlop Station tour also good value, highly recommended
Really enjoyed our albeit cut short by the weather. Best campsite ever and host Liz did everything to make our stay great. We will return. Many thanks from the Chamberlain tractors
Wonderful stay on the billabong which was full after rain. Fantastic birdwatching we saw 80 species in a few days. Free kayaks to use. Station drive is fascinating.
An amazing place to stay. Would highly recommend Trilby Station to anyone looking for a great outback experience. The accomodation is fantastic and Liz is a wonderful host.
Went he quite a while back, now thinking of heading back there once this is all over. Such an amazing place.
Great location with great volunteer hosts. Well maintained facilities. Great history in a beautiful part of NSW.
The welcoming lady very friendly and helpful.
The station is a great place to relax and explore surrounds with a self drive mud map
A very cool place to visit. The campsites are lovely and the wildlife is amazing. It is a beautiful old outback station.
Loved it. Camp sites are decent in size, well spread out, and with shade. Good drop toilets with the shower block near the homestead. Good self drive of the station along with a guide book. This place is full of history. If you like station stays then this is a good one. Visit Dunlop Station for a tour as well.
