Still have feelings of resentment towards dr laycock, I kept begging him that something wasn’t right and my diagnosis was wrong and discharged 3 weeks later admitted into another private hospital under someone else who took time listened and diagnosed me with a genetic disease. Every time I see him as a non pt I can’t look at him

My Aunt was a recent patient to their Woodlands Unit and then Excelsior Unit and am shocked by some of the comments here. The almost two months she was in there far surpassed our expectations. All the staff were really attentive and very patient given the abuse they often copped from some other Woodland patients. Perhaps that what leads to a bad review, poorly behaved patients not being tolerated! But to me that only adds to the service because it made it a better environment for all the other patients. All I can say is they saved my Aunts life who is like my mum and for that I will be eternally grateful. The doctors, psychologists, OTs, nurses, physios were really awesome and cool and I would highly recommend. I often spoke to the administration and again they were always attentive and receptive and totally down to earth. They also have a great little coffee shop with the best coffee and ample free parking out back. Great location, awesome lake views and a nicely presented little hospital.

I have been a patient several times over the years in most wards and cannot thank the staff enough. It gets better and better every time and all the staff are caring, considerate and really on top of their game. The nurses, doctors, support staff and managers are all really wonderful and it truly is a well run facility. I’d recommend to anyone!

The service I received was very poor. Inexperied staff, poorly qualified, ineptly delivering substandard care. The management of the facility is appalling. I saw clients bullied, medication errors and poorly managed violence in the common areas. Do not go here!

Earlier this year my father had died at Toronto after being admitted there for Palliative Care. The care he received in his final days was so incredible our family could not have asked for anything more. Whilst he was the one physically going though his last moments, the team really took care of all us and were very considerate of our grief and needs during and after his death. Dad had been a Patient at Toronto many many times back when surgery was performed at the hospital and he even had stays for his mental health in woodlands and for rehab during his physical journey. He would always rave about the hospital and say that all others would pale in comparison. Certainly from the carer side of things I have to agree. I had visited him round the clock on every shift and managed to meet a large number of the staff and they all were just so lovely. It’s obvious they love what they do and are supported for it. Every one seemed happy and genuinely loving what they do and even after all these months I still think about the care that my father had received and what they will forever mean to me and my family and to my father looking down on us. God bless you all. Jack x

Dr Arvind Kendurkar does not care for his patients and has put countless people on dangerous medication changes without their full consent, misdiagnosing, does not read patient notes, threatening, belittling, laughing right in patients faces, I can go on. Over 18 months later I am still having to live every day with the damage this man has caused. He needs his license revoked before he can harm more vulnerable people.

Great hospital, great staff, great location, great food. Couldn’t fault the place. The nurses, doctors, cleaners, admin, catering staff were all fantastic and made the stay as pleasant as it could have been. Really listened to everything I needed and felt that the Care I received was tailored specific to me. Thank you everyone, highly recommend.

Absolutely shocked at how poor some of the staff treat patients here. Went without food multiple times and when i placed food in the patient's fridge, it was thrown out before i had a chance to eat it.
I complained about excruciating chest pain and was left laying in my bed with no response for over an hour. When this was brought up to the nursing staff, it was made into a joke. Lucky i didnt have a serious heart problem and died.
I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

Visited a relative here. Could not believe the way they were spoken to as a paying client! Public option would’ve been better. They came out worse than when they went in. Not worth the $$’s. At all

I am a Registered Nurse and I was disgusted by the poor quality care. Do not go to this hospital! I was subjected to verbal abuse, multiple medication errors, and the services offered were not to the standard of even a poor quality private hospital. No respect for patients, failure to report adverse incidents, and many, many non conformances with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. I will be reporting the organisation to several government agencies.

Nursing staff are the only reason I would consider revisiting Toronto Private The team who cared for me were friendly approachable and compassionate.
The quality and variety of food and amenities are sadly dragging the standards down below average.
The hot water is turned off between 8.30 pm and 7.am don’t have night sweats! If you do manage to get a warm shower, be aware that your bathroom floor may flood as 8 out of 10 drains don’t work.
Most of my stay I had ‘cup of soup meals ‘ I had bought in or take away.
These are but a few anomalies I found peculiar for an expensive ‘private’ hospital.

Father in law had a stay of 6 days. Treated well. The staff were pretty good and I found parking each time. He thought the food was good and they were always helpful. It was good from a patient and visitor perspective.

Rang to enquire about mental health services. Staff were really rude when I asked questions. If I'm going somewhere its my right to know things like specific programs etc.
Don't have time for people like that. Go elsewhere. Not a good first impression Toronto!

Spent alot of time here after a serious car accident, the staff and facilities were fantastic, almost like being in a 5 star motel, whilst being brought back to health, hope I never have need to return but I could not think of a better rehab to go to.

My mother was recently a patient of this hospital. She has paid into private health insurance all her life so I would expect her last days in a private hospital to be comfortable. Not so. She had also been to a public hospital and I can say she was better looked after there. I found the private hospital was all about running a business for profit and not patient care. There were times she had to wait up to an hour for a nurse to help her to the toilet. The food was disgusting and mainly inedible with cheap cuts of meat being the norm. After she passed away her things were packed up and given to us in plastic bags. When I went through them there was a pair of brand new slippers that I had bought for her and she never wore that were missing. If this is what you get for the amount of money you have to pay for private I will stay with the public system. So angry
