Tommy's Cafe reviews
50Finally got to experience Tommy’s after 12 years of moving to the coast. Excellent service, food and the perfect place to take kids. The menu is great, all of the meals came out together and every meal was beautifully cooked. The staff were attentive and lovely. Kids were given extra attention and they absolutely loved it
Haven't been there for years but will now go back more. Great atmosphere, food, coffee and staff were really friendly.
Super long wait for the food, I understand it’s the holiday period so I can overlook that. Ordered a southern fried chicken burger. There was zero salt on the chicken. It’s just laced with some curry powder and call it a day. Zero seasoning on the chips. The whole meal was bland. Was hoping the food at least made up for the wait but it definitely didn’t. Would have save a lot of time and got a better meal from maccas to be honest.
Great food, pleasant staff. Shame not table service. Meals didn't come out all together - other good eats. Please laminate your menus - printed paper menus feels cheap.
Wow. Just left and extremely disappointed to say the least. Ordered a smashed avo and it was absolutely foul. My mum sent it back and a young waitress returned telling me that there was nothing wrong with it. I replied telling her that the avocado was evidently brown. After a ten second stare-off she rudely asked if I still wanted it. Like…no thanks. Bit sad that myself and my parents had to deal with this on Father’s Day.
Bright, clean and friendly place to have breakfast or lunch.
Staff were very efficient and the coffee was great.
Loved the breakfast menu! We were travelling thru and looked up best breakfast in Gosford. Absolutely agree! Creative and comforting brekkie combinations, generous portions and great quality coffee. Excellent, fast and friendly hosts. Highly recommend
Ordered 2 coffees on a Saturday morning. Waited 25 minutes before asking 1 of the 2 young waitresses why people who had ordered after us were getting their order. Waited another 10mins before leaving. Yet another disappointing Gosford business.
Used to like this place a lot- good food, friendly service - but sadly it has been sliding for a while. And now its broke.
It started when the police got priority service and you were left waiting even when you were next to pay.
But most recently I got my coffee served with a dose of lipstick from the prior customer (a total turnoff). That can happen but.should I check my fork & knife & plate in future? Surely hygiene should be priority. Sure they offered a replacement coffee but frankly the entire meal should have been on the house. In the age of covid and fanatical hygienics.the owner should at least have come to the table. But nope.
As for poached eggs on toast with salmon.how hard can it be? Tommy's effort could not have been more bland. Yep.two poached eggs, on a piece of toast (no butter even) with a slice of salmon rolled up on the side. No garnish. No sauce. Impossible to make it drier.
So from prior 5 star status.its goodbye from me.
I still shudder at the thought of having drunk 1/2 a cup before noticing the lipstick.
Tommy's was a good, bustling cafe. Fortunately, though packed we found a table for two pretty easily. The food and coffee was delicious and the atmosphere was great.
Service took a little while, but it was extremely busy so I wasn't surprised
What a hidden gem! Delicious food, friendly staff - an exceptional experience thank you so much we can’t wait to come back!
Meh, take it or leave it to be honest. Waited over 30 mins for basic meals, they forgot drink orders, the food arrived with items that were not on the menu, granola was dry (suggest this comes with honey). When we raised these issues, the kids serving didn’t care.
Tommy’s is that forgotten gem on the central coast. Nestled across from the waterfront in Gosford it offers food and drinks at reasonable prices. Try the amazing cakes with a latte or hot chocolate. A wonderful salad with hot chicken that is pure delight. Meet friends and enjoy the ambiance.
Excellent lunch on New Year's Day. Even though it was busy, food and drinks were served quickly. Staff were attentive and everyone's dish was great.
I am at Tommy's most mornings with my dog Ruby grab a coffee for our walk. Tommy's is animal friendly, and really nice coffee. Most impressive is as an owner of disability serivce this cafe is accessible with ramp and toileting facility along with disabiltiy stickers on the window. I have noticed how accommodating the management is towards elderly, people with young children as well. Also the Barramundi is great and nice wine selection.
Beautiful place - very pram friendly. Visited with two other friends who also had prams and they accommodated us wonderfully!
Very nice just given two meals from another table of two, almost identical but same sort of.
Great Cafe, friendly staff delicious food and coffee. Good range of wines too. Many lovely little nooks to sit in. Hearty meals, divine salads, pasta. Much to love, especially the fresh made juices.
Great coffee and delicious toast, also kid friendly with some outdoor covered and uncovered areas.
I have an assistance dog and she wears a harness with this clearly displayed. The person serving, waiting and taking orders looked directly at her after I had entered and sat down and again when I went up to order. He continued to attend to serveral others before eventually turning to me again after glancing at her and I was still curtly told "Dogs are not allowed in here, mate". After I pointed out she is an assistance dog, he walked off and served someone else. I wasn't impressed. The food is ok, presentable and tasty and reasonably priced but errs on the smaller portion size. Their printed menu prices aren't clear though and don't match what is programmed into their point of sale software which saw us bring over charged. Only 50c but the principle remains. Unfortunately when it was politely pointed out, it wasn't well received and the response made me feel uncomfortable and awkward, although I did get the 50c reluctantly refunded. On the plus side the meal was good and the coffee excellent. The grumpy customer service needs a lot more work though.
