Tomaree National Park reviews
37This was a great drive. The road was well graveled so even 2 wheel drives could get down there.
Beautiful place, the view of the mountains and the beach is incredible. Short easy hike to reach the summit. If you are lucky you can see dolphins and whales during the season!
Beautiful place but definitely need a 4wd and some money for the horse rides and camel rides on the dunes!
As if this could get any better, then whale season rolls around and you've got your pick of miles and miles of scenic trails and mountains to pick a spot from, I won't say where this spot is, as I'm keeping that one to myself
Beautiful park with a stunning coastal walk that goes all the way through to Burubi beach (in addition to the well loved summit walk).
A must do!
This is a fantastic place to visit with the many beaches, bush walks, whale watching and just the magnificent scenery. Climb Mt Tommaree for a great family photo
Great hike up Mt Tomaree. Fantastic view of the bay and surrounding beaches. 10/10 would recommend, definitely worth the hike
Bushwalk into the wilderness. Ventured into it not knowing where the path would lead us to and were pleasantly surprised to land on a beach after a 45 min walk. I would rate the walk tending towards a medium difficulty
Truly worth a visit the scenery is amazing. The track makes for a fairly easy walk even using a walking stick.
A must visit for anyone who is in the area.
Great place for relaxing, swimming, surfing and diving. I always love my time here with the family. Theres great swimming holes for kids and awesome protected spots for snorkelling out further.
Must do walk and climb in Port Stephens. Great bike trails between Nelson, Fingal and Shoal Bays
The hunters valley in general is a beautiful place. There’s many different activities you can do ranging from bush walks to quad biking to hot air ballooning, however there are some downsides to visiting the hunter valley. It’s reasonably far away from most city areas and accomodation is always poor, so I recommend just renting a caravan or something, like I did. Overall, a very beautiful place.
1km up 1km down.
Beautiful view of Shoal Bay, Nelson Bay and the surrounding beaches. Definitely worth walking up to the top.
It is quite steep going up/down, I would suggest to take it slow.
At the top can get very windy bring a jacket if staying for longer.
No toilet at the top or water bubbler either.
There are some rock pools which have fresh seawater but they are a little hard to reach with small children. The paths are well established and there are beautiful views of the sea on one side You can keep walking on one of the walking tracks for up to 2 hours or you can walk up to Robinson reserve with play equipment. There are several points along the walk that are accessible via the road.
Excellent walk, breeze and view.
Must do when visiting Nelson Bay.
Suitable for families and individuals who like challenging walk up the mountain
Tomaree head summit walk - Best place to visit in Nelson Bay Area.approx. 1 km distance with flat, steep and stairs mix.but after all those efforts, you will see the amazing view with easily visible dolphins, if you are luck enough as I was.please check out the attached photos and enjoy the place while sitting at home ;)
Beautiful National Park with Littoral rainforest, spectacular coastal views from the coastal track, and, especially from the Mount Tomaree walk.
Want to forget? Want to get lost? Want to go to heaven? Go forget everything, get lost in nature's own ways, observe the nature see God and feel the heaven. Must visit place.
Amazing lookout with 360 degree views. From may to October you can usually see many whales from up here. Most of the walk is paved and has a fair few stairs. But it's still accessible to older people and children with benches along the way of you need to take a break.
A great place for Bush walking, mountain bike trails, fishing but lots of difficulty getting through the scrub at Boat harbor and One mile areas while the Rocky car park has 2 water holes 900ml deep when it rains! Very poor design for such a beautiful place particularly when a perfectly good car park was blocked off to make the existing one!
