Thirroul Beach Reserve reviews
42Nice foreshore, walking areas, cafe, and playground. Great in summer and plenty of parking
Great spot, not too far from Sydney if you wish to spend the Sunday somewhere quiet and relaxing
Excellent place for a family picnic. Spent the whole day there and had a great day. Kids had a lot of fun. Will visit again.
A community pool, proper change rooms/bathrooms, enough parking, and not crowded to the point where you can't find a spot to relax even on a sunny weekend, what more could you ask for
Lots of facilities besides a big beach
Seapooll and play ground
Bit of a wild ocean beach ️ that's why 4 stars - but maybe it's calm sometimes
We found this place by accident, just driving around.
There just happened to be a market going on and also live music. Very good atmosphere.
Imagine chasing a giggling toddler who's feeling adventurous and her choice is a climb on the jungle ropes, or a see saw on the old shark, or a climb on an elephant's head, followed by a sizzle swing. A great way to play with children or grand children. And in summer finish off with a refreshing dip in thirroul pool. Which has a large toddler's wading pool.
Good for families. Life guards are around and not too much rush. Few patches have pebbles under the water which can hit you with high tides.
Great beach. As I live in another state, I had visited for many years. Still much as I remember. A beautiful, clean spot.
Rrally nice place. A park is there for children. Can make bbq or picnic thr besides the beach.loved it
Thirroul in the South Coat is about 50kms from Sydney but it’s a world away from the busy crowded beaches of Sydney.
The little coastal town is adorable, good amount of places to eat but not overcrowded. Great coffee at Bread Espresso and solid sausage rolls at Sareven bakery.
The beach is a long decent stretch with room to spread out. We parked away from the main pavilion area, by Jones Street near the northern end of the beach and had a large section to ourselves. This area isn’t permanently patrolled however there were life guards on duty in the main section of the beach. Check the website for patrol times.
Being an ocean beach the waves can get pretty strong so something to be mindful of when venturing in the water.
It’s really a great beach to just chill, read a book or just watch the waves and zone out
Beautiful spot, lovely and clean crystal clear water. Its a great day out. Suitable for families with young children as there is a fully fenced pool and play park equipment on site. Full showers and changing rooms are available. Recommend bringing an umbrella or beach tent, there isn't much shelter or shaded area's to keep yourself shaded for the sun when not swimming.
Didn't spend much time. Just drove through. Looks good for a fun time near the beach. Ample parkings.
Beautiful beach friendly people and dog friendly. Highly recommended. Nice food at the pavilion.
Great weather, Excellent and clean facilities, accessible parking space, accommodating for large family and safe area for children
A lovely place for a relaxed chill out session at the beach. As usual parking can become a problem during the weekends but the beach itself is big enough even for a larger crowd. The right part of the beach is a dog beach and definitely worth a visit if you have a dog that likes to play around in the sand and water.
Great beachside location near Wollongong for a family gathering. Plenty of parking near the beach. There’s undercover pergolas and grass areas near the pool, café & toilets. Children can play in the playground which includes a small zip line. Enough room for a game of cricket or to play frisbee or fly a kite. Loved our visit there ️
A great place for family & kids with a large playground equipped with plenty of play equipments for toddlers & teens next to the beach with mountains in the background made this spot wonderful to enjoy & relax.
Great family beach with pool, amenities, kids park and cafe. Very busy on weekends/public holidays.
A perfect spot to visit.
There is a free lap pool manned by lifeguards, as well as a gorgeous beach (with more lifeguards!) There's a very large park for kids of all ages, with plenty of equipment to play with.
There is even a cafe right on the beach and seating, as well as an open grassed field perfect for picnics or games. Plenty of parking in the nearby lot (its right next to the park!).
A great spot for a swim, a beach walk, a place to take the kids, or even just enjoy the view with a coffee.
