The Tea Room

This venue has always been my 'go to' place for myself, for my family and for the gifting of a high tea to friends. I attended with my two sisters today as part of our birthday celebrations. The wait staff, as always, were helpful and polite and the venue is a winner, but, with what felt like a stingy serve of Orange Peko tea and some lacklustre sandwiches, I was left wondering why I haven't explored other venues.

Wonderful experience of high tea at QVB tea room. Very lovely welcome. Waiters so friendly. The environment was great it made us feel comfortable and at home. The selection of sweets and savouries was nice and filling. We loved the scones. The man from the front desk was so nice from taking us photos and presenting my 5 years old daughter with a colouring book and crayons which made her happy too. Special thanks to Akshayn and Erica.

The most Luxurious tea room I’ve ever been to. Fine China tea set, tasty cake and sweet, nice music, spacious floor…. I love all of them. We had good time there.

Everything was good, except a front desk waiter was a little bit rude.

Scones were big and tasty and the environment was pretty and good.

It costed around 90 per head. We arrived at around 10: 15am in the morning. The food came around 10: 30am. But at around 11: 55am the waiter came to give as the bill and said we should go immediately. We knew there are two hour limitation for the restaurant. However we haven’t finished our food at that time. He came twice time ask us to leave and his attitude was very rude. If there were two hours, we should still had at least 15 minutes. What’s more, no customers waited outside and there are still more than 20 tables at that time. What a bad experience in Sydney! That waiter is in the photo below. Thanks to him, he gave me the rudest and poorest experience in Sydney

The most unique high tea experience. Fabulous staff and I couldn't recommend The Tea Room anymore.

What a great experience. We didn’t have a booking but were lucky enough to get in. Beautiful room and although the tables seem close, you’re still seated in a way where you can talk amongst yourselves without overhearing anyone else’s conversations.

Absolute stellar service. A great ambience about the place. My first high tea experience and it’s one I’ll definitely remember.

Would recommend for a lovely outing. Is it a little pricey? Sure. But you’re definitely paying for the full experience which is absolutely worth it.

First time to the tea room, was really excited to try out the famous high tea.

Booked and got in on time, it was not too busy at the beginning. Had the 200 dollar afternoon tea set for two which came with a half bottle of champagne. Love the whole chandelier and atmosphere they created there. Food was nice and maybe a bit too much for two of us somehow but still all is good till we only got asked to refill the tea ONCE for the whole two hours when we were there. In the end we have asked one of the male staff to see if he could help us top up our tea. He happily responded with an yes and will be back with hot water. Then we saw him walked away and started chatting with other staff and disappeared. We did wait and he didn’t come back at all so we had to ask the other staff for hot water which came right up.

The service is not only poor (not the last lady who helped us) but also felt not being treated nicely the whole time like we are invisible.

Arabella, Carol and Laura helped us create the most beautiful wedding night we could have ever dreamt off! They were absolutely wonderful to work with from beginning to end and we had such a beautiful night! The food, atmosphere, decor and the people made it all so special and I would honestly would do it all over again! Thank you all for creating such a memorable night for us and we hope to work with you again in the future for any of our other big events ️

Fantastic cosy experienced coupled with lovely staff, and amazing food and coffee. Try the fish cakes and salmon sandwich. We will be back!

I was disappointed to say the least. I love High Tea and have tried many different places in Sydney. I had always looked forward to going to the QVB. The bread on the sandwiches was stale and they lacked flavour. There was no return service to top up water or to ask if we needed anything else.

Spacious and Delicious! I experienced high tea for the first time and it was much better than I thought. I am willing to go again.

Was so disappointed with the santa high tea. Had to ask for our juice 3 timeds had photos done but it's the same photo for 7 photos. No Christmas decorations like every other year. Wasn't very Christmas at all in the whole building like every other year that I have been in to look and shop. Save your money and don't go. It's a waste of time and money

Definitely the prettiest high tea I’ve had in Sydney.like just look at the plates and set up Wasn’t cheap at $70pp but you get a range of savoury tasters and sandwiches as well as sweet treats and of course a massive scone with cream and jam each. You also get to choose a tea/coffee each which was nice. Service was very friendly and interior was very beautiful. They also cater to dietary requirements - usually you need to give a days notice but they were able to get a DF set up for one of us.

Honestly, it was pretty bad. Food was fine. Main issue was with the service - I've never been to high tea before but could see other tables receiving scones, so had to ask about that. Then weirdly we never received our tea despite a big fuss around taking our tea orders. Again, wasn't sure if maybe we'd just get the tea later but other tables definitely got theirs. Followed up a few times but in the end just cancelled it as we'd eaten everything and had been there 2 hours. They did end up giving us 50% off our champagne upgrades which I appreciated. But was just a weird disappointing experience and I won't be back in a hurry.

This place is extremely horrible service, been treated like in food court.no service provided and when we ask for it, the male manager came and said (so ladies what is the issue here?) in a very ruled attitude, so after telling him we didn’t receive equal services and everything we need we need to wave hands couple of time, (which are taking ordered and hot water refill). At the end he offer complimentary cocktail, which i rejected, as i am not coming here to be blamed from your poor service and also i am not here to put up on your discrimination.make thing short, they rate them selves the finest and high end high tea room in Sydney, but to be honest.totally no worth the price.to the QVB tea room team, no excuse here, please think twice before you talk to the customer and understand the situation from both end before coming to approach the customer with an attitude.spend $350 plus for anger and unfair treatment is totally a waste.

Absolutely wonderful and yummy experience. Also very accommodating for several dietary requirements which is rare and really appreciated.

We had our wedding at the Tea Room - and everything from start to finish was PERFECT. We worked with Laura and Carol and they were so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole experience!

The night was amazing and everyone complimented the food and the service - would definitely recommended working with the team for your next function.

I also want to shout out Fabrisio, who managed the event on the night, and who made sure everything went smoothly and Sam - friendliest staff member!

Everyone at The Tea Room helped make our wedding memorable. The venue is stunning and creates a wonderful and grand atmosphere.

Carol took care of us in the lead-up, making sure we got everything sorted out, recommending vendors, and helping us choose thoughtful upgrades.

The service on the night was smooth and seamless. We didn't have to think about anything extra because we knew it was being taken care of.

And the food! So. Good. I recommend doing the tasting session with friends because it's fun and hard to choose between all the good options.

We - three generations, dressed in costume - went to the tearoom for Saturday brunch, with much anticipation. The venue is lovely, and the staff was pleasant and attentive. Unfortunately the food was very ordinary. Like others have posted, the savoury eats were overcooked, the sweets underwhelming, and the sandwiches dreadfully dry and stale. The menu is expensive, it should be much, much better than this.
