Aging hotel with small rooms

The best thing about this hotel is the good location and the easy, quick 24h check-in. The rooms are very small and there is not enough space for our two suitcases. The room is also very dark and there is simply no fresh air. It only has a small window to a light shaft inside the building. The window cannot be opened.

If we were ever in Sydney again, we would definitely look for another hotel.

A side story that has no influence on the overall rating. On our last night the fire alarm went off and we ran barefoot down the 14 floors of the emergency exit stairwell. The emergency organization was lousy. The staff never had an overview of whether everyone had left the room. And even afterwards, they didn't really inform us what was happening etc. Luckily it was just a false alarm!

Reception and cleaning staff all very professional. My room was comfortable and clean but noise from the street and from people talking in the corridor kept me awake. Breakfast not bad but could do without the awful music played at too high volume in the morning. Location perfect for CBD.

Convenient location in the centre of Sydney. Hotel staff were fantastic. Rooms are a good size for the price. Beds clean and comfortable.

Stayed here many times and haven't given a review. It's been a positive experience for me as the rooms are always clean and presentable, small but comfortable. Nice bathroom and very centrally located. Friendly staff.

Great if you need somewhere central to stay with just the basics. Very clean, comfy bed and friendly staff.

Great spot 5 minute walk to the ferries. Rooms a tad small we had 3 days and was big enough for 2 of us.

Even the premier rooms are not big. But they are nice. Staff are super attentive. And it's so central.

During my stay in this hotel I'm impressed with your friendly and welcoming hospitality as well as service. However I noticed that during my stay at this hotel, unlike any hotel this the front desk staff were not able to sit during the whole working period of time therefore I suggest the management level to enable their staff able to be able sit or rest during their free time.

The place was OK. I was in room 713. It was incredibly small. Literally a bed and a bathroom lol. It is a handy location.

Excellent front desk staff are receptive and obliging. Breakfast was a normal buffet/hotel offering but plentiful and satisfying.
Parking is off site but easy to use and Cheap for sydney (24hrs.only $25.remember get your ticket validated at reception!) and only 2mins away.
Rooms are small but immaculate with comfy beds and excellent showers.
Location is excellent.

This hotel is pretty well located, has the standar amenities and staff is pretty friendly and accommodating.
The bad side is that is not properly clean, you can see dust in the corners or in between spaces, also the back end of the bed you can easily feel is dusty, I stayed three nights for a business trip and noticed this in the second one, asked for housekeeping but didn’t see an improvement in the dusting, if is loud outside windows are not noise proof so be ready for that too.

The rooms are clean, water pressure is great, and have everything you need but are small. Perfect for me as I hardly spend any time in my room. The service is super accommodating. You can't beat the location in Sydney.

Pleasant atmosphere and very friendly reception but the rooms even Queen size are rather small.

We have stayed here before for 1 night and it was great. We just got home from a two night stay for my husband's birthday. Check in was fine, room was fine even though we had booked a cheaper room this time as we thought we are only sleeping there and we would be out. Beds and pillows are great. Problem was, we went out to celebrate Hubby's birthday, had a great night and came back to the hotel at midnight, we tried to call the lift and it wouldn't work. 2 people found us and said there had been a power outage and showed us the fire stairs to walk up to our room, we were put on the 13th floor. My husband has osteoarthritis in his hip so was very hard. They said they had a technician on the way so would hopefully be fixed by morning and they would compensate us with a complimentary breakfast. Ok so we accepted that. Woke up the next morning after a very hot night and poor sleep due to no air con and no ventilation. I went to go downstairs and no lifts working, went back to room to call reception to find out what is happening, no phone service. I went to find fire stairs but was pitch black, went back to room to find emergency torch that only flickered, I had a little Led torch in my bag so I took that but went the other way around and found the lit stairwell. When I had walked almost the ground floor there was a staff member asking what floor we were on, I said 13 and she said " is it ok if your room doesn't get cleaned today" I was understanding as you can't take a cleaning trolley upstairs. Hubby and I went out for the day and came back to see a missed call at 12.20 as they had a generator going because the problem was outside the hotel in the street. Lifts were working and everything was at full capacity. We got back around 5pm, went to our room and it hadn't been made over, (power back at 12.15?) Tv was still not working so we went to reception to see what was going on. We were met with a frosty reception being told that "it's out of the hotels control" No apology or would you like a refund or we can move you to another room, only you can breakfast here on us tomorrow, which they had said the night before but kitchen wasn't open. I do appreciate that it wasn't their fault but please we saw a woman on the upper floor trying to call the lift and was confused that it didn't work. Could you not have printed out something descibing the problem and put it under guest's doors? We kind of knew what was going as we got back at midnight and it had happened at 10.15pm but it was still a scary experience for me when I thought I couldn't get out. Thank you for the complimentary breakfast this morning and the beautiful waitress when we said thank you said " it's the least we can do" you should have more staff like her that think about the customers and not the money. Thank you to the manager that tried to guilt me into not complaining when he told me how much the generator was costing and his own wife was upset because he had to work. We came for 2 nights and have come home tired, sore and disappointed. Thank you Tank stream, we will never stay with you again.
