The Sydney Retreat reviews
13 I was privileged to be admitted nearly 2 years ago. Sadly I had to check out after 19 days. But thanks to John and Monica and the team in 2 weeks I celebrate 2 years sobriety.
To thine own self be true.
This place has been a godsend in my life. Amazing programme which taught me alot about myself including my outlook and sets you up with all the tools to change your life and situation for the better. Great staff very helpful and top quality delicious food.
The Sydney Retreat is more than just a wonderful treatment centre, but a LIFE CHANGING centre. The 12 step program literally has saved my life when I had nothing left.
All of the staff truly care about your sobriety and wellbeing. Not to mention the COOK "who will remain anonymous" dishes out the best home cooked meals I have had in a very long time. Accommodation is modern and well kept. They even have a pet possum that greets you every night to say goodnight. I am truly grateful to the Sydney Retreat and everyone there for showing me the way to sobriety.
The retreat is an amazing rehab. The program provides a solution to addiction and is life changing.
An amazing treatment centre. Great AA focus. A solution for all recovering alcoholics. So grateful to have found The Sydney Retreat. Finally I have hope for a future of sobriety.
Brilliant staff!
Outstanding food
ABSOLUTELY LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE
I highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone who is struggling with addiction ️
Really good rehab, non profitable organisation, their only goal is to help people to recover from alcoholism and addiction, and they did it well for my partner. I am extremely grateful for that.
Abstaining from alcohol was just one gift I received by attending The Sydney Retreat. The real blessing is that you're given the tools to find yourself, to re-engage with your soul, your internal love and strength.
I thought my defects were mine alone and that no one else understood me. How wrong I was, it turns out everyone in the retreat including the staff were just like me. I entered the retreat with one goal, to give up alcohol. I left the retreat a new person and with a new sense of belonging.
Best thing I've ever done! Highly recommend this place, changed my life completely. Greatfood, friendly staff, nice rooms.
AA didn't work for me until I went to this rehab. Its been a life and personality changer for me but I was also ready and active in my willing to make a change in my way of thinking and living. This place was for me a peace of heaven. Definitely highly recommend for anyone that is willing to change. I got no word to express how grateful I am for each person I got to talk to, listen to and live with while I was there.
If you want a cure for your addiction this is the place to go. After 23 years I don't feel the need to use & the program really works!
The Sydney Retreat has completely changed my life and without a doubt saved it. I had been suffering from addiction issues for the better part of 20 years and in mid 2021 was unable to stop drinking without a trip to a hospital detox unit. I left that detox unit and went straight to the Sydney Retreat. It was one of my only options as I did not have top tier health cover for a private facility.
I did not know what to expect, having never attended a 12-step meeting and all sorts of misconceptions about recovery in AA. At the Retreat I found hope. It is a smaller facility and has a homely feel, has great food and is a loving, supportive place to get well. All of the staff are in recovery themselves and so they have been where you are. Nothing is forced, it is a gentle program but you must be willing to do the work.
I met many amazing people who have become friends for life. I am nearly 5 months sober and I already have a life beyond my dreams, all the things that addiction took from me are now coming back and it’s thanks in a large part, to this wonderful place. If you have a desire to get sober and/or clean all the tools and support are available to you here.
