The Sydney Morning Herald reviews
19A once balanced journal (pre Nine take over) now veers towards an LNP protection racket, like any News Ltd outlet. The Guardian has been left to be the conscience of Australian print journalism.
This is not about content. This is for someone who wants to subscribe to weekend newspaper. Their delivery system is broken and despite repeated complaints no action was taken. In short stay away from their newspaper subscription.
Really enjoy enjoy the paper, really disturbed by many of the reviews I read here. I feel the news and opinion pieces are more balanced than what I read or hear elsewhere and of course it will seem "left wing" in comparison to what else is generally on offer.
Too much opinion writing, too much far-left bias, few quality writers anymore.
They still have Ross Gittins, Peter Hartcher and Kate McClymont. No one else worth reading unless the article is a re-run from a foreign paper. A real shame.
These people are promoters for Hunter capital advisors who are associated with canaccord genuity and they are the people who took all my mothers estate, they really dont care these people they just seek to promote a man banned from acting as a stockroker in USA
Post some pretty offensive left wing trash talk. I was a subscriber until one article offended so badly i pulled the subscription, only to get pestered by them to resubscribe. These guys are only good for fish and chip wrapping now. Oh, and they have a bunch of trolls who trash you on blogs. Better news reporting on the back of the dunny door
An excellent independent newspaper needed more than ever in this era of alternative facts by the far right.
If it's not about race, gender, class (or all 3 which is SMH's trifecta), then it will struggle to get prominence. Unless of course it's real estate. Not necessary unless you're just gagging for student newspaper politics. And Paul Sheehan deserved to be suspended not sacked. One positive - Kate McClymont is MVP - actually doing journalism.
High quality journalism, with detailed features. Always able to rely on the SMH to tell us what is really going on in Sydney.
Great newspaper. A broad variety of interesting news and current affairs written by decent journalists from all angles of society. People ranting below in other reviews clearly seem to have a biased agenda which is sad. I'm neither left nor right (if such a thing really exists) and can honestly say I believe this newspaper is the most balanced and informative in the country using facts and evidence to keep us up to date on events around us. Thank you Fairfax staff for all your great work.
Tied to property bubble profits, Domain continues the spruiking of unrealistic property prices. Hypocrisy considering the socialist proposals elsewhere! Lol
Once a great paper that gave an un bias view is now left wing socialist rubbish. And I bet all the Fairfax execs are sitting around wondering why subscription rates and advertising revenues are down. The final straw was Clementine Ford, SMH are serious?
Clementine Ford's misandry is as despicable as misogyny. Very sad this once great newspaper has corrupted the notion of equality. Who would pay to read that.
The newspaper for people with a brain. All the low ratings probably read and believe the Daily Telegraph.
The modern version of a Nazi paper that is written to foment hatred against Israel and Jewish people in particular.
Biased rubbish. Crystal clear political agenda, with no chance of ever reading a balanced article. Good if you want to waste time reading superficial articles about property or expensive cars. History repeats, as we are witnessing the death of old school media as we know it. Typically happens at the same time as governments start to collapse, should history be anything to go by.
Wish they would put more work in to the website.horrible design horrible to use also make it free u make more on adds
One of the few remaining bastions of independent journalism. Interesting to see all the Murdoch trolls busy astroturfing.
The #1 source of news for a lot of people in Sydney. It certainly is for me. Unfortunately like all other traditional papers, advertising dollars are down and they are now putting their online version of the paper behind a paywall. You only get like 30 articles a month.
It is still a great paper and have good journalists for the opinion pieces. I just hope that it can continue to exist for us.
