Their restaurant feels like a page in history. With some great food and an amazing ambiance this place is a must try.

Tried this place recently with some friends. The ambience is nice but it's a very small space and hence gets crowded. After 2 hours or so they come and ask you to leave. Of course the food was overpriced and the quantity was very less but the taste was not great either. I had some vegetable korma which was undercooked and the naan was not fresh either. We tried the Pani Puri as well and it was not all that authentic. I asked them to pack the leftovers and they did a lousy job of not closing the lid. All the leftovers spilt inside the plastic bag and then leaked on to my clothes. All in all, not worth my money, won't be going here again.

Terrible place, my mum has had a suspected heart attack and in hospital, cancelled booking with 5 hours notice to be told they will charge the $60 cancellation fee and refund it on presentation of medical certificate.

Very bad experience, quantity too low for the price. They will charge a hefty amount as a cancellation fee when you cancel your booking even on normal day when there is no footfall, so beware before booking with this restaurant.

Some of the best Indian food I've tasted outside of India. The Spice Room is authentically decorated, including a hand painted wall (that's not wallpaper!). One of the numerous things I liked was the menu - they have moved beyond bog-standard Indian menus. I particularly liked the green chilli paneer sandwich dipped in chickpea batter and fried. I went twice for dinner over three days. I wish I could have eaten more!

Had a beautiful lunch at Spice Room. The butter chicken was absolutely delicious. The naan was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be coming back.

Great location in Circular Quay. Lovely intimate restaurant with friendly service and fantastic food.

We ordered the Chicken korma, Goan Fish Curry and Yellow Dhal with Saffron Rice. All we’re superb, we shall definitely be back on our next visit to Sydney.

Great food, great staff, great cocktails. You must try their Pani Puri, a real delight that you rarely see on menus. It's a small restaurant and can be quite noisy but for me that only adds to a great atmosphere!

Excellent service and food. Friendly staff. Location is good but just a little tugged in so not lot of foot fall by the visitors of opera house. Good food and fast service. Sitting area is less so book in advance I possible. Enough space one or two large group. Nicely decorated also.

My partner brought me here as a lovely treat. I really enjoyed everything we ate that night. Not too spicy. On the pricey end. Good atmosphere.

Nice enough, although wouldn’t rush back. The building doesn’t look like much from the outside, however the decor was quite nice.

Service was relatively slow, and the only outlook was onto a brick wall. Feels like a bit of a tourist trap.

All curries tasted the same, spice level is pretty low for an Indian restaurant. Service is good though.

So very authentic. We started with chicken tandoori and samosas. The tandoori was smoky and perfectly cooked. The samosa was great with crumbling pastry and spiced filling.

We then went on to butter chicken, lamb Madras and vegetable masala. The lamb was a little chewy at times but that's how I personally enjoy it. The butter chicken was just the right amount of creamy and spicy.

We finished with Gulab Jamin which was soft and syrupy.

I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for an Indian meal near the CBD of Sydney.

Staff is friendly, very responsive and service is quick. There was an order mix up but was resolved very fast.

Always so good. I don’t understand how this place isn’t packed every night - food is top notch and such good value.

Food is very delicious and breads are soft, I love it. I want to come again here but only the thing is price is little high.

The Ambience was good, the place seemed little crammed up. Location near Circular Quay great. Could do with better lighting specially in the washroom. The Food Was Awesome. Ordered Chicken Biryani, Non Veg Platter, Paneer Tikka, Daal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala Curry, Butter Chicken and the Dips were amazing. A down side was the uneven flooring did not realize till a companion tripped and the staff was so prepared as if they experience it often.)

I am disappointed with my latest experience and changing my rating from 4 to 2 because of few reasons:

1) Food quality has been degraded over time and quite an expensive comparison to the quantity.

2) I found a manager bit rude although I can ignore if they improve the quality of the food.
