The Rylstone Hotel reviews
40Ordered dinner in advance and it was waiting for us. Even though we showed up late, dinner was great!
Good food and friendly staff here but thats it.
We've stayed in country pubs before so knew what to expect but very unclean floors, drawers and wardrobes. Shared bathrooms to be expected, but not so unclean, barely enough paper towel, and very old small bathtowel. Breakfast room was so tiny with no chairs, just a converted bedroom with a 2seater lounge and a kettle on other side of room.
Main Bar had minimal wines, of no interest or much taste, in the middle of wine country.
It was a very busy event weekend in Mudgee and very little accommodation anywhere, but this place was a big disappointment in a nice little town. Save your $$, or stay elsewhere.
We ordered burgers and chips, when they came mine was burnt black and inedible. I brought it to the staffs attention and it was returned. However it took so long to replace that my husband had to eat his as it was almost cold. By the time I got my meal he was finished and we had been sitting waiting for a further 20 mins.
I ate then went to the small bar for another drink, the barman was busy in conversation with a man so I waited, and waited, and waited then more men entered the bar and were served immediately at which point I gave up.
As the premises state that they would like feedback,
The lady who served us was lovely, the guy behind the bar seemed more interested in socialising with the male customers, than who might be waiting to be served.
And the kitchen might benefit from some form of quality control before food reaches the table.
Had burgers with chips in outdoor area. Big hearty country size burger with the lot was excellent. Be patient as only one chef - took over 40 minutes to deliver after order placed.
Went there for lunch on a drive back to Sydney from Mudgee. Friendly staff. Food was good. Spacious pub with separate rooms and great outdoor area as well.
Friendly staff and great food. Was recommended the steak and it was delicious. Happy hour before 6 too.
Called in for a drink. Got as far as the front door that was propped half open with an empty milk crate. Person behind the bar was very rude as she told me to read the sign on the milk crate that said to enter around the back somewhere. Most unwelcoming and un-professional. Won't be back. The Globe hotel was much more welcoming.
Perhaps you could write your directions more appropriately, such as: Front doors not in use, please enter hotel from the rear to comply with Covid sign in. That would remove any confusion. Cheers.
We broke down nearby, we went to the Rylstone hotel to feed the kids while we sorted out the NRMA and the staff there were amazing! They were all so helpful and so friendly. The food was hot and delicious, it was cosy, comfortable and warm. Thanks to Margaret and all the staff at the Rylstone Hotel!
Great place, stayed overnight, shed for motorbikes, friendly owners, really nice outdoor area, good times had by all
I thought this would be a good place to stay after the first phone call to book some rooms for a bike trip.
Well the attitude and service are absolutely top notch. You are made to feel very welcome and we could lock our bikes in a garage before going upstairs to find each room has A/C.
They seem to be about service in this joint and each staff is nice and friendly.
The food was great. We had 9 people and everyone of us enjoyed our meals being as good as you would get anywhere, except for the rump which was actually one of the best ever and that is coming from 6 people that had it (unfortunately not me though)
Do yourself a favor and at least ring this place and see what vibe you get on the phone and I reckon you won't be disappointed to pay them a visit.
Great country pub.
Staff friendly
Food normal bistro still meals large meals, meals took long a bit long to arrive but the atmosphere was great and made up for the wait.
Very friendly staff. Great food and large servings.
Cosy bar and fireplace and nice courtyard out the back.
Amazing Pizza and wonderfully friendly staff. Quality takes time so don't expect anything in a hurry
Food and bar great but not the rooms. Grotty with1 cupboard, 1 sink sticking out of the wall, 2 beds, that's it. Shared grubby toilets & showers, loungroom with no AC, 1 kettle & bar fridge for all rooms. Brekky was toast and cereal.
From booking my room with Dee to meeting Gary and Marge. Great stay. I was able to lock up my bike. The food was very tasty at good value.
Room was great with a basin.
Lovely genuine people.
Great stay for a biker.
Friendly staff great cold beer including boutique beers and great food, brilliant hot chips classic atmosphere older style reasonable prices corner location easy parking you won't be sorry great for a stopover if your travelling through lunch stopover
Thank you to all the staff for such a great experience. Food was fresh and delish, the staff friendly and helpful, and the accomodation clean, neat and very comfortable. Did I mentioned the food? Seriously good food.
Stayed on a Saturday night whilst on a motorbike trip. Shed up the back for the bikes and warm fireplace. Rooms basic but brand new aircon units which worked brilliantly.
Nice and quiet during my visit. Good size and delicious meals for a great price at the restaurant.
We had lunch at the Rylstone hotel yesterday.
It was easily one of the worst meals my husband and I have ever had.
Mixed grill -The sausages looked like they were a week old reheated, egg on top just plopped there.it looked terrible and tasted worse
I had Nachos and they were just awful barely any meat or cheese and what should have been kidney beans weren't. I have no idea what they were
The coffee was made by a young girl.who admitted that she hadn't made a lattee since high school
Why would you have a coffee machine there when no one can use it.
Do not eat here, it's plain and simple awful
