The Royal Hotel QBN reviews
63Dinner was absolutely beautiful. A huge shout out to Ronan, our cocktails were amazing! He certainly knows his stuff. I am in Queanbeyan for a night every 3 months, and always come here for dinner. The staff, atmosphere and food are always on point.
The world's best steak is buy far the worst steak Thier is very disappointed not sure if it was the cook or the steak itself but I've had better feeds at maccas
Exceptional food and the staff were absolutely lovely. The service was quick and everyone enjoyed there meals. Apart from some rude customers harassing the staff, the environment was lovely. Will definitely be returning & would recommend:)
55degrees is the scientifically proven temperature for a perfect medium cooked steak. The chefs couldn’t have nailed it any closer!
Went to the pub for lunch and to catch up with my son and his family nice place to have lunch.
Great service and fabulous food. It was a stop-over before taxi-ing to the airport and we had few expectations but my 'warmed grilled beef' was fantastic. Excellent.
One of the best pubs i have been to. Meals were amazing, Pizzas and schnitzel huge up there with best.
Great job Royal!
Only 1 negative was the price of the wine little overpriced for a pub
Good food, service etc. Family orientated and plenty of areas to sit and enjoy your food and drink
I cannot underestimate how wonderful the service from the RHQ event staff was for our Wedding after party. We had a celebration in the beautiful Manhattan room in the upper house. The venue was so well equipped and beautiful, it really is a hidden gem! All the staff, admin, chefs, bar staff, waitress and team lead were very accommodating through the entire experience. I was very impressed with everyone's attention to detail on the Saturday, all they wanted to do was to help in anyway possible to ensure the experience was perfect. The waitresses were also very friendly and professional, quick at clearing the plates which is something I admire! The chefs, while I didn’t see them cooked up very delicious servings. Everyone I’ve spoken to enjoyed their meals. The venue was beautiful. Thank you for having us! If your after a well catered and organised event the RHQ upper house is your place.
The rib eye steak was one of the worst things I have had in a while I asked for med rare and they gave me medium well at best, it tasted like chemicals and fake char. The only thing I got that was good was the mash but that isn’t saying much don’t go if you want steak.
Was ok, the bistro staff were great. A little put off by the bar tender, just a bit condicending. All other staff were professional
Went here for lunch. Expansive menu with lots of foods to choose from. Good selection of drinks. Cosy, modern interior - not what I was expecting from seeing the outside! We did find the food to be quite expensive for pub food. We ordered one pizza which took 40 minutes to come out, even though we ordered at 12pm and there was only one order in front of ours. Staff were friendly enough.
Great food and fast friendly service. Live band Thurs/Fri/Sat night. Our chipotle chicken pizza was stacked high. Definitely recommended
Very nice hotel.had a function upstairs and we were very well looked after.plenty of food and whole setting and ambience were terrific.
Great steak, chips and salad plus a very nice ginger beer on tap. If you are in QBN this is the go to pub.
The food is so consistently bad
I’m not fussy but it’s honestly just so bad every time, the vegetarian dishes are all the same thing, undercooked sautéed vegetables on top of a pizza, mixed in cheap pasta, or in tacos. For the high prices you really expect better, there’s chunks of raw pumpkin in all of them. The pasta doesn’t even have sauce just raw vegetables mixed through, it’s so weird, would really love if they could work on the menu because everything else about the place is good. Love the live music and the cocktails.
Just eat before you go if you’re a vego coz I think the chef hates us
Got dinner here, vegetarian burger and the Wagyu beef burger. The Wagyu burger patty was overcooked and too chewy. The vegetarian patty was weird, too soft and without good structure or firmness. The burger also seemed to involve guacamole and was a bit confused about what flavour it was trying to be.
The table service was lacking also. Dirty dishes piled up around us as we ate (from others). That said, staffing can be hard these days, and it may have only been a temporary surge.
Excellent selection of beers. I go for the Perroni which is beautiful with nice bite. Beer battered flathead is my fav. Not too oily and has nice crunch. Hard to beat. Some of the specials on the board are hard to ignore. All tastes catered for plus good sized helpings. Great staff who can take a joke. Come along to the Sunday avo singer with all the crowd joining in. We like the congenial atmosphere and manage to escape for a couple of hours all the troubles the world is facing. In summary R H Q is a terrif well run establishment with a strong customer focus.
Offencivly load and poor music rendition. Gave up trying to eat my meal and left with a head ache. Nights out are suppose to be fun.
This wasn't.
