The Rocks Teppanyaki reviews
83My children thought this was the ‘best place ever! ’ The service was amazing and they loved trying new food.
Stunning night at the rocks teppanyaki. Nice secluded teppanyaki place in the rocks. First class service at the table, meal prepped fresh with care at the table. Love a good flambe! Highly recommend the kingfish and salmon as well as the Yuzu sorbet as a palate cleanser. Nice generous portion of the mains, would recommend lotus root sides. Note minimum spend of one main dish per adult - easily done at such a stunning restaurant.
Really nice food. Service was good. However, the atmosphere was not as enjoyable as other teppanyaki restaurants that I have been to. Oh, and just as they started making am our food, a cockroach ran across the table!
Good Teppanyaki, a very large menu with many set menus. I would recommend spending some time and ordering the flavours that you prefer, The atmosphere is very nice
Fantastic Teppanyaki. Great quality ingredients prepared with care. Simple ingredients allowed to shine without overdressind. Good, professional service and good selection of wine by the glass.
It was my first live teppanyaki experience in Sydney and i chose a place which has become a Sydney icon (circa 1992). The live cooking “show” made it a fun experience, unlike the usual boring dinner. We had the Rocks Wagyu Experience ($195pp). My favourite had to be the Flaming No 1 Special (crab salad wrapped in kingfish & flamed with mayo like sauce). While i enjoyed every single dish, for the same price i could get a more interesting set menus at other restaurants. The main reason i gave 4, not 5 stars is the dessert, not exciting enough to complement the experience. I’m still glad to have been here at least once & definitely won’t say no to coming back, just not in a rush anytime soon.
Had dinner and it was amazing, we ate the a5 wagyu, and it was an amazing show as well as meal, very cool and staff were friendly, you get a lot of food for what you pay for.
Teppanyaki is always fun. This one isn’t interactive but the chefs do a good job.
Ingredients and flavours are not fitting of the price tag which is $150-$200pp for the set menu plus drinks.
Overpriced small portions of ordinary food in a shabby setting. No entertainment. Two stars for excellent service, won't be back neither will my 11 guests, very disappointing.
Felt quite disappointed with the outcome of a Groupon purchase that I had made. Unable to reschedule due to the fact that I didn’t give them 48hr notice and confirmed on the day that I would attend but an emergency to hospital restricted me from attending. Very poor and unprofessional as I have dined there in the past. I was aware of the conditions, but still could’ve handled it better
The serving sizes in a typical preset meal are enough to get you full, and all the dishes tasted amazing. The wagyu was the most tender wagyu I have ever had, and choice of sauces for every dish was well thought out to pair well with the dish.
The service was very nice, and the staff generally granted my requests when possible. The chef was also very kind and was very skilled at making good food.
Great experience! $200pp is average. Food is good, menu needs take time to read. I love Sexy Osaka cocktail.
There's a lovely little cocktail/bar room here. Just chill out and enjoy the ambiance.
Cocktail server Ray is very knowledgeable and good for a chat. Makes wicked cocktails
Overpriced and average compared to other similar international establishment experiences. Disposabal wooden chop sticks were a real let down.
Great staff, very accommodating while we where there, the food was to die for, highly recommend.
Only issue was the fact that they didn’t throw the food at you and the place was quite expensive for what you got.
If you’d like to contract a UTI, don’t eat here! 3 of us thought we were going to have an amazing course but instead ended up paying close to $1000, urinary tract infections, and a course of antibiotics. Unfortunately hygiene standards were very poor! We had contracted ecoli from poorly washed salad or dishes? Wish I could give minus stars! They also do not throw the food anymore.that was the whole experience of Tepanyaki!
Worst Teppanyaki I ever had in my life. Period.
Maybe this place used to be the Teppanyaki Establishment in Sydney but that was decades ago. It served me an alleged top grade Wagyu steak, insisting that it’s temperature should be medium rare which I disagreed, sometime if a steak it’s really marble (and fatty), medium or even medium well is better than medium rare, so it really depends on the cut.
Anyway, despite we listened to the chef recommendation of medium rare, they made it medium well and the steak wasn’t properly defrosted so it tasted like shxt.
Conclusion: don’t go there and wasted your money.
Had the Valentines day menu with the wagyu upgrade. Had a lovely experience with my fiance, special thanks to chef William for serving us this evening. Service was outstanding and the entire menu was delicious.
I give this place a 11/10 rating. My family and I have been coming here for years and they never cease to amaze me with the exceptional service of the staff and the utterly delicious food. We had the Autumn Seafood Delight menu and everything was so incredibly tasty and well presented.
A lot of the reviews comment on this place being pricey but all I can say is that you get what you pay for and this place is worth every cent.
We will see you again soon
Sunday late lunch with the wife.very nice food good staff.makes me rethink about the way I cook my steak plus the quality of it
