The Quirky Kid Wollongong reviews
12As a previous employee of Quirky Kid I can attest to their passion and expertise in helping children and their families. It has always been a highly supportive environment where the psychologists and admin staff will strive to help in any way they can. I cannot recommend them enough!
Leo and the team are very approachable, lovely and very kind to people especially for the kids. Thank you Quirkykid.
Psychology help for my child was great but the management of the practice is woeful. They charge your card automatically, they won't split payments in divorce situations and are generally unempathetic and uncompassionate. Trying to contact them is also problematic as you are likely to get a voice mail message and even though their website says they prefer email contact, there is no email address listed. (You have to fill out the online form.) You can't phone the Austinmer clinic directly and there is no complaints email contact information on their website. I also received an appointment request in error, in which I travelled 1.5 hours to attend unnecessarily.and I didn't receive an apology, except that they were sorry I was confused. (I am a psych student with a Distinctive average and have worked in corporates for 20 years, I assure you I know how to deduce the meaning from an email, especially when the 'you are not required to attend' is missing!) When I raised concerns of their charging procedures I was reminded of the rules and they attempted to prove me wrong in my assessment of the situation. If you really need help for your child, be aware that you may feel like they display power control tactics over you and you may feel disrespected. I certainly did not feel like my well being was of concern to the management staff with which I interacted.
We were really struggling with managing some aspects of our daughters behavior. Kimberley provided us with some excellent tools and took the time to then follow up on how we went. Quirky kid helped us to get through a really tricky time! Thank you!
I would not recommend Quirky kids to anyone. They are only after your money. Terrible service and rude staff.
Fantastic workshops and team. Materials provided for the groups are very impressive. Thank you for your help and for making time to meet after hours.
Best service around. Clearly they are a private service and you do need to pay for it. If you are looking for a specialist with skills and fantastic customer service, go here. The program materials are like nothing I have ever come across. But yes, you do need to make a booking and pay for it.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend Quirky Kids Clinic, especially if you have a quirky kid.
The quirkykids website is well-written and comprehensive and promises expertise, but the quality of the care we received did not match the marketing. Once we got in-clinic, the process had little nuance or individualisation, and frankly seemed geared towards $$. Subsequently we have had better experiences and results with other private for-profit providers offering a similar type of service, which I only mention to indicate this observation this not made without a reference point.
For privacy reasons on such a public venue I hesitate to go into details about what exactly occurred, but we were not pleased. The issue is not that this is a private clinic run for a profit - that is totally fine, it is that the quality of care demonstrated is not sufficient.
The following paragraph was added after viewing the response from the quirky kid below, which seemed a bit PR focused.
The issue is not that you are charging money, no one minds that. The cost becomes part of the issue when the service is not good.
In our case an (expensive) assessment was recommended and conducted that we later found out from a number of psychologists and our paediatrician was inappropriate for the age of our child at that time, and so could not possibly yield any useful information. At that point the cost becomes annoying.
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!
If you want answers for your child do NOT go here.
The way the charge you is criminal considering you don’t get what you have paid for.
Absolutely terrible! They take your credit card details and then charge you for sessions canceled even though you've given them appropriate notice. We were going to get our son assessed through them and they wanted to charge us $1,200 and the psychologist was 30 mins late and they still charged us for the full hour!
Great service, quality space and very easy to deal with. I'd highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for help with family matters
Wonderful people! Leo and the team are lovely, they are generous with their time and advice and I am grateful to know them. Please keep doing what you do best, the world is a better place thanks to your tireless efforts!
