The Press Coffee and Book House reviews
53 Hosted a private function here. The atmosphere created by Chez and her staff was beautiful. Delicious food and drinks were available. They also went above and beyond to help with any requests.
Highly recommend
A wonderful lil' bookstore, such a relaxed vibe and always plenty of interesting reads to lounge about with (plus top-notch coffee, of course).
Potentially the best coffee in Newcastle. Extremely smooth and flavoursome coffee - one of the nicest long blacks I've tried in my life and an exceptional cappucino with wonderful froth and chocolate powder. The pastries, cakes and toasties are all high quality, the location is excellent and the atmosphere is second to none. Excellent book collection and vibe within the Cafe and just overall one of the best and purest coffee experiences available in the Newcastle-Hunter region. 10/10.
What a great place. Excellent coffee. Great range of books. Staff were welcoming and very cool.
Had a coffee and a croissant we pleasantly surprised by the staff and the quality of the food, the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Would highly recommend
Took a box of books and the owner was honest by stating she couldn't afford to buy sll of the books due to value. I got a some first editions to still sell and a very reasonable price for the books she bought. Honesty professional staff. Oh yeah the coffee is bloody beautiful. You can read a book while you drink your hot drinks. Also has bands playing, check the Press Coffee and books staff for those details.
Great coffee and vibe, the fact that it's also a bookstore makes it all the more interesting
I was ravenously hungry when I arrived and delighted when the young man told me the names of the toasted sandwiches. They were all named after famous artists etc. My toasted sandwich was delicious and the iced coffee was really good. A really lovely atmosphere for somewhere to go and read a book or have a little chat. Books from floor to ceiling and wooden tables and chairs. Reminded me a little of being at school but in a lovely way. The waiters were fun to talk to and looked after me well. I stayed for a poetry reading and open mic on Thursday evening. Great venue for this sort of thing. An excellent place to hide away and soak up some literature and art
Absolutely delightful atmosphere for a coffee and a toasty, and a pleasant relief from the bustle and the traffic outside!
Peaceful and calm, just a perfect place to relax and enjoy a cuppa.
The coffee is spot on
Oufffff. What a great place. Excellent strong smooth coffee. Splendid peanut butter cups (i had 3, only for the strong IMHO) Flavoursome carrot cake. Scrumptious lemon blueberry cake. If i live in Newcastle this place would definitely be my local haunt.
Long wait and was rudely told after my son asked if he could have a milkshake that ‘they are a coffee shop not a milkshake shop’
I love the Flair! You can grab a book and chill down on a couch or take your laptop and do some working while eating a delicious Croissant people are friendly and serve quickly Such a wonderful place to take some time to rest?
Books and good coffee; my two favourite things in one place. Great atmosphere and so worth a visit.
Good coffee and food, unique, warm atmosphere and long opening hours means this is a great place to visit day or night.
Wonderful coffee shop, perfect coffee and lovely lady & gent who served me this morning. Truly delightful experience. If I lived in Newcastle this would be my regular joint. And just look at all the books! A couple of sofa chairs and you’d have people lounging all day:)
Eaisly the best place to go for a a relaxing envitoment, a good coffee, friendly staff and a bit of culture.
Should preface this by saying I'm not Vegan.
Bought a large Cap and a "Chunky Funky" from here this morning. WOW. Best vegan option food I've eaten in a while. Hat's off.
