The Pottery Shed reviews
18My go to, my wind down, my creative outlet with expert guidance. I go with my amiga at least once a week to make pots, chat, laugh, make more pots, laugh, glaze, laugh, trim, laugh, not just with her but with the beautiful staff and people we’ve met along the way
I had the best morning at the pottery shed.
Joe was excellent and really passionate about his work. I truly loved the 2 hours I spent in the amazing space. I Will definitely be a regular at the pottery shed:)
Best place to learn pottery in Sydney! Since my first workshop I’ve bought at least 6 other friends who also love the warm, welcoming vibe of the Pottery Shed. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Such an easy online booking too. Parking around can be a little hit and miss but great public transport options!
The best place to hang out and throw clay around! The facilities are well organised and the staff are friendly and knowledgable. Classes set you up to keep going on your own. I can't praise this studio enough!
Love it love it love it! This is so therapeutic.all staff members are friendly and genuinely nice people.
I took the three introductory classes and absolutely loved it. Great teachers and a really nice relaxing and collegiate atmosphere. Highly recommended!
A lovely little ceramics studio in the heart of Sydney. Difficult to establish contact (Understandable because so busy) but in person staff are super friendly and a wide variety of classes regularly on hand. Really great introductory classes. Highly recommended.
WOW!
Thank you The Pottery Shed for such a wonderful experience! 19 of us attended this weekend past to kick off my hens celebration and could not have asked for more. Ash and Sue were patient, hilarious and quite simply a joy to have with all of us newbies. Both relaxing and informative, we were encouraged and celebrated throughout our class. We are looking forward to receiving our finished pieces and checking out some classes hopefully in the near future. Thanks again, Nicole <3
The Pottery Shed isn't just the place to go to learn pottery, it's where you go weekly to visit your pottery shed family! The team here are so supportive and so kind, you honestly feel like you're catching up with old friends every time you go in. Joe has created a really organised space, and makes the learning process so easy and accessible for all. The passion this man has for his work is just incredible, and the staff he has working here are also just as passionate and welcoming. I can not go a week without stopping by for a 2 hour session! Love your work guys
I attended a 2hour wheel workshop with my work colleagues and it was an absolute blast. Such lovely, fun and helpful people. I would highly recommend.
We had a fantastic time on our first pottery class. However I had to cancel my second class as something came up, it has been a week and I haven't received a refund yet. I am not sure who to contact to resolve this (I cancelled at least two weeks in advance). If someone could advise that would be great!
Absolutely a treat coming here! Love learning, creating and enjoying the good vibes while mingling with some very amazing people! Learned a lot during the three part classes and had a fun and relaxed time! Cannot wait to start a new project! ️ Thank you!
My boys (aged 10) did a lesson here with an 11yo friend. The whole experience was so much fun, with all materials and information supplied with extra charm!
I did the glazing session today 2-4pm and I'd like to write and say how disappointed I was with how things were run
When we walked in there was no greeting or explanation about what the class was going to cover. There was a young guy 'supervising' who gave limited instructions, guidance and information. I had to ask many questions ongoing to get any idea how to glaze my pottery. He had no structure or lesson plan and I feel I learnt little and I am not at all sure how my work will look- probably awful. Which is a huge shame for me because I was so proud of my first time!
It's a shame because I loved the first session and I recommended your studio to several friends. They have all come to the first session but I will warn them about the follow ups
The pottery shed is an oasis of peace and creativity in the heart of Surry hills. I've taken 4 classes there and have been impressed with the quality of tutoring and enthusiasm of the staff.
An oasis from the stresses of day to day life. Great value lessons, flexible scheduling and quality instructors. I was introduced to the Pottery Shed knowing nothing about working with clay, and I thought it would be a once off - but instead, I found a hobby for years to come. Highly recommended.
We loved our first class today with Joe. I gave the class as a gift to my husband for our eight year anniversary (pottery). Looking forward to the next class!
Great working environment with highly experienced staff who are extremely thorough in their development and tutelage of the core and fundamental components of wheel throwing for newbies, novices and intermediates alike. High quality materials and equipment, and plenty of assistance makes for an enjoyable time at the pottery shed.
